  • This week we visited West Midlands Safari Park, near Birmingham to see if it was still the best safari park we've visited. Since we first went in May 2021, it's always been one of our favourite attractions in the UK, but is it still the best? We find out!
    We go on the car safari then explore the zoo, amusement park and dinosaur areas along with testing out the Dino Diner restaurant. With a huge variety of free-roaming animals such as lions, giraffe, rhino and many more, we were really looking forward to finding out all the safari park had to offer in 2024!

    Hi guys, thanks so much for this video! I do remember when you went here before! This time it was so lovely to see the wonder on Sienna's face when she saw the animals! It does look such a wonderful place and great that you can interact with the animals close up too. Btw that pizza looked seriously yum!

      Hi Jane. It is so nice being able to take her to all these places now. Even if its a little tricky at times. She really likes her animals, that's for sure. The pizza was surprisingly good, considering it came from a dinosaur themed restaurant at a zoo! We didn't have high hopes! Have a great weekend. Matt and Issy x

    I love the zoo videos you guys do. If you summon up the top 10 or top 5 zoos. 1 being best. 😊

    Hello, I have recently been enjoying watching your videos. Having worked in zoos myself, it's always interesting to see how other people interpret other zoos, wildlife parks and safari parks. Been to West Midlands a couple of times, well over 10 years ago now. Not one of my favourites probably due to the fact how busy it was both times and the theme park side doesn't really interest me. But, it does have a wide varied selection of species. I shall have to try and get back there in the near future.

      Hi there! Yes, we'd agree that the downside to West Midlands is it's popularity. It does get VERY busy at peak times. There are ways to get around it, like doing the car safari in the afternoon however. It's still very good in terms of how many animals you see and how close you get. So when you've worked in zoos, what did you do? Glad you enjoy our videos and thanks so much for watching and commenting. Matt and Issy

      Yes, both times I visited I think were during half terms so bad mistake by me I hold my hands up. One of the times I'd forgotten it was. I have worked at Colchester Zoo with the big cats (just over 20 years ago now which is scary) and as Educational Presenter at Dudley Zoo.

      @jerryncf1553 Oh wow, that must be amazing. We've been to Dudley zoo but not Colchester (yet!)

      Yeah, Colchester is about 80 acres in size but is jam packed with animals. Part of the zoo is set on a hill but has an easier route to follow. I do recommend Colchester. My favourite is ZSL Whipsnade Zoo. Though that is 600 acres. You can take your car in and park in various areas of the park but they charge an extra £30 on top of your admission fee.

      @jerryncf1553 Yes, we've been to Whipsnade a few times. We always say that place is more for the animals rather than the visitors. Some of the enclosures are vast!

    I can book only 12PM slot. How much time is enough to visit with kids ?

    • @ExploreHomeRepeat
      @ExploreHomeRepeat  Місяць тому

      The car safari takes approximately 2 hours, maybe a little more, then 3 hours at least for the rest of the zoo. 12pm is a little bit of a late start really, buts it's personal choice. Keep in mind that this weekend is a bank holiday, so it will be really busy and that will slow everything down

      It's a bit far for a day trip, but we'll add it to the list and next time we're down that way we'll be sure to go! Thanks for the recommendation, and thanks for watching! Matt and Issy

    Is it possible to go without book time slot ?

    • @ExploreHomeRepeat
      @ExploreHomeRepeat  Місяць тому

      As far as we're aware you don't HAVE to book in advance, but at busy times it does sell out, and then you wouldn't be allowed to visit unless you'd booked in advance. Whether or not you book in advance, you will always be given a time slot for the car safari.
