Love, LOVE hearing these stories guys!!
I had a bunch of gs1100e('82-'83), a gs1000e('79), and finally a '90 ZX 1000 I grabbed for like $1800 around 1996 I'm guessing.. but nothing even remotely close to what these newer EFI bikes are capable of!
Finally bought my first brand new bike, a 2003 GSX-R 1k, and my God I was in heaven!!
I put 60kmi on it in the first 4 years I had it, and a few more before selling it after like 5 years as driving it as my daily driver!!
I rode it up and down the east coast, rode it in -15°f weather to the grocery store and even made a 20 mile ride in the middle of a blizzard with 6 inches of snow on the ground already to get to court to avoid a warrant by the corrupt court system!!
2-1/2 miles on the back wheel, around 450+ feet on the front wheel doing rolling stoppies, and many other stunts from highchair wheelies to tank spreaders and so on...
By far the best bike I've ever ridden let alone owned -- absolutely my dream bike, and I wish I never sold it- but after 5 years as my daily driver I needed a break on those nasty days..
God bless y'all, and shiny side up! ♥️🙏💯🏍️🇺🇲🙏♥️

Your long term owners review in 2011 was one of the reasons I brought this bike two years ago (2015 model). I am 56 years old and was concerned that it would be uncomfortable on the wrists and backside. I ride the GSXR, normally for 4 hours at a time, normally with a lunch break in between. I just love it.
The sound the handling the predictability compared to other bikes I have owned and ridden. I can see why, even back then, you seemed dissappointed to give your long term loaner back...so thank you Neevsey-as always. love you content time and candor in your reviews.

That's great to hear, I am 20 years younger and have the naked GSX-S 750 as I thought it will be more comfy over the R, but I still hear to calling of the supersport in the back of my head...

    • @husseyfamily509
      @husseyfamily509 9 місяців тому +3

@@KapitanPisoar1 The first ride I had on the GSXR was a three hour ride back from where I brought the machine. I was prepared to have a sore back and wrists, as my intention buying the bike was just to ride the local short twisties. (I'm in New Zealand). To my total surprise I was very comfortable. I think the trick is to keep a slight bend in your elbows so you don't lock you arms and absorb all the shock. My other bike is an Indian Roadmaster so I'm used to comfort.
The best bike you will own is the one you will ride. If you love the naked stick with that or take and R for a ride and see what you think. Safe riding.

@@husseyfamily509 Thanks for the info. I do love my naked and only have it for a year and done 12000km on it. I live in Canada, thankfully in the mountains, but there is still lot of straight roads, where I would appreciate the fairings and the 20kg lower weight compared to the naked I bet would appreciate on the twisties. There is and used R in dealership 2 hours away, so I thinking about trading them. Will see...

Great look back at a true icon, the gsxr750 started the 4 stroke race rep era and turned into an absolute gem 👍🏻 We thought the way to more enjoyment was more power, but it becomes self defeating and sometimes the bike is taking you for a ride ! There are lots of reasons why my track bike is a K6 750. Partly because I ran across one that wasn't running and the owner (his wife, really) was sick of messing with it. But mostly it was because I had had a few 600s before it and I really liked the K6 600 as a track bike and the thought of having the same handling with more power was too exciting to pass up.

It took a bit getting used to the ergonomics of the bike coming from naked bikes before, however it is great to ride and going to take it on track sometime this year to get more out of the bike than I do on the street. Also the seat height is more forgiving being a shorter rider and my knees fit better into the tank.

It’s just so weird that this 750 class disappeared… I’ve had many bikes & my gsxr750 was easily one of the best. Literally the perfect balance with near 600 size & weight but that extra 750 oomph.

Brilliant video, Neevesey! The M to WS models were my childhood dream bikes, and last year, I finally got my very own WS on a late reg '96 plate, and it has been a dream come true for me. Absolutely fantastic bike, a totally different riding experience to my '05 5SL R6! Given unlimited time and money, it'll be an EFE or 1100L or M next 🥳

EFEs always looked so good with that cut-off abrupt rear end. Very tempting.
As indeed are the 1100L GSX-Rs. Owned an 1100G slabby, which was great (it got stolen), but I loved the look & graphics of the Ks, too, though the L's handling sounds better & had its own good look also (in the black/grey or the endurance-y white with blue).

Love this video. I've owned 3 GSXR600s all from new over 9 years a srad a K1 and K5. Looking back I should have gone 600 750 and 1000. After this I bought an R1 and yes I was into sports bikes when they brought out new models every other year and everyone had them. My brother had a brand new 2010 750 the same as the one you have there but in standard colours which I did get to ride. Last year he bought another mint one with hardly any miles on and is thinking of selling it now and watching this makes me want to buy it. Not a lover of the looks of the last bike though but I'm sure it's brilliant.

Although I'm own a R6 now, the first love will always be the Gixxer !

What a machine !!! had a K1 brand new and did 15k miles in first year was highly addictive ,absolute perfection and never missed a beat. Moved on to the K5 Gsxr 1000 a few years later had it 7 years and would say the perfect litre Superbike , currently got theL7 Gsxr 1000 , again a fantastic bike, looks amazing every time I open the garage door . Hope Suzuki brings the 750 back to UK shores , which would be significant move like Honda and Kawasaki have with their 600 super sports and revive a missing choice in the motorcycle segment. Loving your reviews and content can’t wait for your next one. 🤩👍🏻

…stunning machine, both to look at and to ride. The definition of reliability as well. I’ve gone back to an ‘05 blade after riding all the more modern 1000’s. The rose tinted spectacles aren’t necessary, 2005-2015 was the zenith decade for Sportsbikes, maybe? Awesome content as always, Sir. 👍👍

Hi. Excellent video packed with fantastic information. When that very first race replica GSXR 750 came out in 1985, I remember seeing it screaming through a winding road, I thought - "what was that?". At the time I didn't know what it was, I went to all the local bike shops in Australia to find it, and yes I learned about the GSXR 750. Couldn't afford it because I was still a student. Later when I started working I saved up and bought a new tri colour 1995 Honda Fireblade. Now after owning 30+ bikes, and having a 2024 S1000RR and 2008 1098S (pre all electronics) in my garage that I look at every night, I still miss those 80s-mid to late 2000s pure sports bikes. And at those times being excited every 2 years to see the updates. Regards and have a great day! PS: Now wanting to add a street fighter, naked bike to the garage but man I just can't decide ... 890 Duke R, Duke GP, MT09, MT10, 765R or RS, the list goes on ... tough choice. It's easier to choose a Superbike. PSS: Previous Suzuki bikes I've owned are DR250 (my first bike) GSXR1000 K7, L1, the 2017 model (traded it on a RS660 - that was a mistake RS only lasted 6 months then moved it on - I wish I kept the Suzi).

I own a gsx r 750 wn 1992 , black and silver , with the purple 🟣 wheels . I bought it with 60 thousand miles on the clock , at first before I bought it i was put off by the mileage, but when I had a test ride on it , i loved it straight away. All I had to do is get new carb inners and black widow stainless down pipes and a link pipe and my scorpion 🦂 exhaust end can . It's been an ongoing restoration . With nearly 70 thousand miles on the clock it ride's really well . Love it , I know it's not the best gsx r but it's my baby ♥️😊😊

Restrictions on bikes were well under way well before this bike, the Y2k ZX9r had two cats in the back box and link pipe, making the titanium exhaust very heavy, I have the original exhaust in my bedroom. Removing that probably made it lighter than this overall (for the E1+ models), but still due to design and a full 19l fuel tank, they are top heavy which is very noticable when manual handling the bike, proper underrated beast 😎
