  • When it comes to sponsorships, there are some really good companies to work with, and some really bad ones. Luckily one of the good ones I found is EcoFlow. They have been great to work with and if anything, understate the quality and performance of their products. The River 2 models that I used in this video have been doing great for everything I’ve used them for, and you can get your own with a 10% discount through the following links!

Unfortunately the battery company was not so honest, and even after I made it very clear what I needed a battery for, they told me theirs was a great fit for the job and even set me up with an affiliate deal so that I could earn a percentage of the sales, in hopes that I would promote it in a video even though it was absolutely the WRONG fit for what I was doing. Then after no response from my questions of what was going on, they pointed out that we had a deal in writing for me to show their battery in a video, so that’s exactly what I did!
Oh, and fun fact, saying @MattsOffRoadRecovery in a video does get you more views 😂
In this video I also built a new mount for my risers and hitch attachment, cleaned up some shoddy concrete work, and then installed some @gripstuds in the new tires I picked up for my wife’s Jeep

I would like to point out that while one company grossly overstated their products capabilities, the EcoFlow unfit actually went well beyond what it was rated for without a problem. The River 2 Pro is rated for up to 1600 watts with the X-Boost turned on, yet it went well over 1800 watts when I started the grinder and powered it into the metal at the same time. That’s something I didn’t notice until I watched the video back, and goes along with times I’ve seen my EcoFlow Delta 2 go beyond what it is actually rated for as well

I have an EcoFlow River Max and it broke. That can happen and I contacted them since it was still under warranty. They sent me a label to return it for repair and I got it back fixed a week later. One of the things that separates companies is their after-sales service and EcoFlow was perfect 10/10 for service & support.
Yeah there are cheaper options, but good luck if it breaks. I don't know about you but I can't afford to have expensive equipment turn into paperweights, BTDT, it sucks.

The nails in front of the carport would make my blood boil. I work construction and it's not hard to be conscious of where the nails go. I had some siding redone a few years ago and came home to find over 30 white nails in my black paved driveway and made them drive 2 hours back to pick them all up

    • @bobvogel9916
      @bobvogel9916 Рік тому +9

Had the roof on the house redone. Picked up literally dozens of nails in the grass. Gave up trying and harassed them and they came and picked up most of them. You would think companies would want you to like them. I guess once the check clears they don't care.

    • @rjbrown6942

Every roof we do gets every nail that's not fastening a bord down gets pulled and put in my pouch we do this every job and run our roller magnets around the premises. It is alot of extra work. Those little white nails are not magnetic so those have to be picked up by hand. Mucho more fun but you won't last long in my area doing shady work.

Funny you mentioned that. Just yesterday, at 9:30 in the morning, I'm in line at the gas station/convenience store and the two guys in front of me, in their work uniforms (gutter installers) each have two of those big cans of twisted tea. They looked like they were going to, not coming from, a job. Now, they may not have been drinking them before doing the job but odds are they were getting their wobble on before the work got done.

Used studded tires while serving in Iceland in 1979-80. Studs worked well on ice; however, we kept 2 sets of ties. Installing studs and them removing them until next winter was seen as damaging to the tires.

It just amazes me how some people/companies have the balls to try to pull crap like this on you. They obviously do not watch your channel and know what type of a person you are. I honestly have to say, BEST BATTERY REVIEW EVER.
I don't mind sponsored videos if it is a product that you actually use and believe in. I don't have a use for something like a EcoFlow, but if I did, I would be more inclined to buy an EcoFlow over one of the other types that some other youtube hacks are promoting just so they can get sponsored.
And to the cement guys. Come on. A "real tradesman" will always clean up after the job. Wow, just wow... Just imagine if I was working on your pickup, I know you have a pickup, and I got all covered in grease and oil. Instead of wiping my hands off or putting a cover on your seats, I just jumped in and got grease and oil all over the inside. How much would you like that, how loud would you be mouthing off. Think about it!

Casey, I would think that long crank on that International would concern you. I'm not a diesel mechanic, but I did spend many years operating big rigs, and thus diesel engines. A long crank is often a precursor of later issues. But I guess I am probably preaching to the choir! Just more advice you didn't ask for.

As you were grumbling about the nails scattered about, first thought was "Harbor Freight rolling magnet to the rescue", and you later proved me right. When I had my roof on my house done I borrowed my brother's to pick up the nails that the crew assured me they had cleaned up 100%. Yeah - about a coffee can later full of nails I was glad that I borrowed his (still haven't gotten my own yet). The roofing company rep came out when I called him about the nails and was, shall we say, less than enthused about the quantity of nails I picked up with the rolling magnet and made things right for me, then told me that they were going to go buy some for all of their crews to use after seeing my results with it. Regarding the battery - they were totally in the wrong since Lithium batteries can't take cold weather!!

And when you reach out and they ignore you, that's even worse. They deserve the video they got. And big Kudos to EcoFlow.

Well you showed that battery in your video. I bet that company is not real pleased that you are a man of your word. Thanks for explaining about the generator. I just sat in below zero temperature with no electricity, therefore no heat, for about 12 hours. It's amazing how cold a house can get in subzero temperatures in that length of time. I will be buying that generator to plug my little supplemental space heater into ASAP so I don't ever have to go through that again. I'm an old lady (dinosaurs roamed the earth when I was young) and when you told how lightweight the generators were that was the selling point for me because I was afraid they would be so heavy that an old woman like me wouldn't be able to handle them. I'm glad that is not the case.

Casey you get an A on your homework assignment. Must lithium batteries should never be charged below 0℉, it kills them. Some newer designed Lithium Batteries from your know where, have a Battery Management Systems (BMS) with low temperature lock out to prevent charging below 0℉. That specification detail should be on battery label, as you pointed out.
EV's have heaters and coolant to keep their batteries operating. The only way this battery would work in the Jeep is: If it was wrapped in a battery blanket with a thermally controlled battery heater wrapped around the battery, and given a permeant power source to protect the battery on those days and nights the Jeep sit's unused.
Seal Lead Acid Batteries are still the best option for below zero temperature operations.
