Seeing all the drivers who lined up to drive up to him to give him a thumbs up and congratulate him after the race finished was pretty amazing because of how many drivers did it. It was always hidden in the back of my mind that the Indy RC would eventually prove that it was a good road course for NASCAR. Well, the thought was right. The best rc race for the next gen so far imo, and possibly the best race at the track itself since 2017.
Hey Nascar, you really need to apply the same NO STAGE CAUTIONS at the end of stages for oval races too. This race was amazing to see with the actual pit strategies in place since it went green nearly all the way through and the only caution was due to a race incident, not an artificial stopping of the race, so please consider it for at least some oval races for a start, people want races without artificial breaks !
The spec parts and the fact that all engine suppliers (Hendrick, ECR, Yates, TRD) are more or less equally competitive seem to have a lot to do with it. The gap between a Front Row Ford and a Penske Ford has certainly narrowed.
It has HEAVILY leveled the playing field. It REALLY shows when drivers are required to use skill at road courses. It separates really good DRIVERS from oval racers. Joey Logano won a championship, yet he completely sucks at Indy Road Course.

He's 38 years old, but yeah I get what you're saying his success has come in the back half of his career (he's been racing since 2004). He's kind of one of those drivers that has been around a while but hasn't had much success, this was a good win and confidence booster for him

I was at this race today, it was alright, very happy for McDowell!! Definitely going to buy that race win diecast!! As a Formula 1 fan, I gotta say these NASCAR road track races are really entertaining and good racing.
It sure was a great race. It kept Chase reaching. But not enough. Michael did a great job at outperforming everyone at the right time.
