First time watching you, glad I did. Great music and presentation. I have the same razor, love it. My first straight was from my grandfathers estate and I sent it to Lynn's guys for a honing but it came back pretty lousy..I bought my own stones and after a while I was honing alot of people's razors..and making my own videos. Good one, sir, I'm subscribing..
Thanks for watching! Due to partial paralysis in my hands from arthritis and neuropathy, I can’t hold and handle straights any more. I also can’t hone because of lack of sensation. I only use my safety razors. I haven’t done shave videos in a long time. I do pipe and tobacco videos and walks in the park with my dog.
the bismarck is one of my favorite blades. for the price, it can't be beat. one thing though is that is kind of difficult to hone compared to my other blades. being full hollow, and shoulderless makes it flex quite a bit and you have to take extra care not to let that happen. I have to use very light pressure all the way thru to get it truly keen and comfy. nice one! do you find Lynn Abrams hone job to be very good? be honest and let me know. I always wonder if he's really that good, or if it's all just hero worship.
Straight Razor Revolution ! Mostly hero worship, judging by the edge I received on my razor. The Bismarck arrived with a damaged edge. Replacement razor was not honed all that well and the scales were shitty looking. I honed a better edge on it. Lynn subsequently banned me and others from his Facebook page who had the audacity to use Gold Dollar razors. After spending a considerable amount of money with his company, he lost me and others as customers. Too bad. Another bad story was the rude and inconsiderate treatment I received from the head of Dovo in Germany when I contacted him asking if they would send me a nicer set of scales that I would have installed at my expense.
Richard Collura that doesn't surprise me about Lynn, and srp. they're a bunch of jock riders. it does surprise me about dovo though! sorry to hear that man. I had a problem with a Thiers I bought from the art of shaving, and they have a no return all sales are final policy, and they sent me a whole new razor for nothing, and let me keep the one with the poor finish. that's all that was wrong! because of that, I continue to buy from them even tho their prices are higher than I agree with. the little extra buys peace of mind!
Straight Razor Revolution ! Did you contact the art of shaving to get your replacement by phone? Or by email? I'm planning to buy from a good website where customer service is great and it looks like artofshaving.com is great. Thanks.
I run an alum mineral block on my wet face immediately after I complete my shave. It is an astringent that tones and calms irritation and closes the pores and minor nicks. After a minute or two I rinse off the alum with witch hazel and finish off with after shave and moisturizer. I never complete my shave without it.
Great products and great shave as usual Rich--and eat we did!!...thanks for the shoutout!!
***** We sure ate good Rich!!

Hello,
What product were you applying on your face at 11:30? Thanks in advance :)
