How much power can you gain from a tune-up and ECU flash?

  • The BMW Z3 Roadster is overdue for a tune-up, but how much can this actually increase engine performance on a dynamometer? Also, the Digital Motor Electronics on this BMW is flashed with some new tricks to further increase engine power. The spark plugs, fuel filter, and air filter are replaced, and the DME is flashed before the car goes on a Dynojet Dynamometer.

    I literally drag the buffer bar to the last 30 seconds of Every video I watch cause if I dont I'll literally smash my phone on the ground from the meer threat of having to pay attention to information

    Bosh platinum’s belong in the trash can…
    All NGK and Denso plugs (possibly others) already have anti seize metallurgy designed into the threads. Anti seize actually affect proper torque readings and isn’t necessary with modern plugs in aluminum heads. I wasn’t aware of this for many years as a seasoned tech, was schooled by the actual NGK rep.

    Really need to check my 2000 Z3 2.3 with 58,000 on a Dyno . ( New plugs/ high performance aftermarket coils/ fuel filter with Dinan Chip & cold air intake , exhaust kink by rear axle removed and BMW muffler replaced with a Magnaflow with 2 x 2.5 inch exhaust outlet) Thanks for this video, subscribed! *****

      Did you actually modified your z3 and you really felt a boost in your z3's power? What about the fuel consumsion?

      @@RoranMartillazos Well I drove from Reno to San Francisco doing at least 70 plus all the way, plus I was stuck crossing the bay bridge for 30 minutes yet still got almost 28 mpg. Power I'm not sure but that is why I'm thinking a Dyno is needed.
      (Also install a "butt strut brace for the rear suspension and Dinan strut brace for the two shock towers in front...with KONI yellows all around.)

    I’m having a problem trying to remap my ecu, because my 20pin does not have a 18pin to connect to 14 but it does have a 17 to 2

    Ummmm I have the same engine but it has sat seven years after typhoon Yolanda. It might sound absurd, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get the cap off the 20 pin plug..is there a trick to it?

    I'm confused here. I have a 97 1.9 that came with 138 hp from factory and you've been spending all this time and money on a 2.5 6 banger, just to have 147 and then 159 hp. Ridiculous. My M54 330i has 225 from factory. Stop spending money and dump an M54 in it!
