Tell me, did you ever notice the periods between the D.E.W.? I never had!
I had not noticed the periods until I was reading an article about the distillery where that was discussed. They are easy to overlook...I tell myself.
First time hearing about this whiskey. A guy from my work mentioned he enjoys sipping this one. Upon purchasing a bottle, I noticed it while looking at the label. Turned the bottle to the side label and read about the founder.
The question is, how is this pronounced? Is it Tullamore Dew or Tullamore D.E.W.?
Yup! Surprising huh?
Get that coffee ☕
Love me some Tully! Picked up my first bottle a week ago and did not regret my purchase. Very easy to drink. I would use it as an entry level whiskey for beginners.
I'm glad you bought and enjoyed it!
Oh, I got a really interesting version of this a few years ago, a special St. Patrick's Day bottle. They were giving free samples at the store, tried it, loved it, got the bottle, finished it, and the bottle's still sitting right here in my room. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away, it's just too interesting and oddly cute lol
Interesting story, I did the same with the st. Patrick's day edition bottle...I liked it so much I kept the bottle and just refill it when empty and toss away the standard glass bottle
Rock on man, Tully on the rocks, is my favorite after work drink.
So I found you through the whiskey tribe, and I’ve been having a little trouble finding flavors.
I decided to check out your tasting notes while enjoying a dram of good ol’ Tully.
I’m smelling along with you, as you’re giving notes and you bring up the “metallic” scent. I say to myself, huh it’s almost coppery, like a gently patina’d copper. When and almost immediately after you brought up pennies and I had myself a moment lol, I hadn’t been this excited about tasting whiskey before because I was more following tastings versus making my own notes! Anywho, thank you for the video, you gained another loyal subscriber !
Fantastic! Thanks for finding me and letting me know. I believe that's the first time I smelled anything line that in a whiskey
My first ever whiskey was a tully. I absolutely despised it. Granted I had no idea at all what I was doing. What got me into whiskey (or whisky in this case) in the end was the glenlivet founders reserve. However, I am really tempted to try the tully neat or on the rocks again. After all, I did like it in an Irish coffee, so if I still don't like it that's what I'll do with it, haha.
I think this is my favorite budget whiskey for just drinking and I'll definitely buy again. Just decided to buy a bottle yesterday because it was something I never tried and was very cheap. Very pleasant to drink and cheap. So if you're looking something to drink neat and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is definitely a good choice in my opinion.
My favorite
Thanks Tyler I enjoyed your review , I enjoy this whiskey & for $20 a bottle it's a enjoyable sipping whiskey & very similar & comparable to Jameson's. Great value & when its $14.99 stock up on it...my friends love it!
So glad you liked it. I love this whiskey.
Irish whiskey is great.
Tried Tullamore Dew for the first time the other day because they had it marked down at my local grocery store so I figured I would try it. Well its pretty good. I am a guy who until recently Jameson is my go to Irish Whiskey, probably because of the name recognition. Tullamore Dew is gonna be my go to now because it taste better at a good value.
It's THE Irish whiskey for me. Chase it with Irish Beer!
Smithwicks!
The Whiskey Dic absolutely
Where I'm from, that's called a Boilmaker. Not a fan of hangovers.
Hi from Germany , just got a bottle yesterday. 12.99 EURO. real value.
wild Bill Nettos Angebot oder?
Ja.
So about 52 PLN. That's about right. I can get 1l here for about 18 EURO
had to buy a bottle before I could comment...this is in my a opinion a good entry into irish whiskey. I just recently have indulged in jameson black barrel and fell in love with it, but the tullamore dew is quite a bang for your buck...and my friends like it. can't wait for the next review, more power...and cheers.
Thanks Steven! This week's video is on Flaming Leprechaun!
Hello. I recently bought this to be my first whiskey to try, then I discovered your channel. I don't have much drinking experience, so I'm hoping my body doesn't revolt too much. Thanks for your vids!
This is a fantastic place to start and you're among millions whose first whiskey is Tullamore. Enjoy!
This whiskey is great on the rocks . Highly recommend it
Cool. I would not have expected it to rate as highly. Thanks for the video!
Me either honestly... I liked it more than I thought I would.
Thank you for this review. Sounds like a good choice for cocktail creation. I'm definitely going to try this.
I think so!
The last Tullamore I opened also a cap like that, that wasn’t tight enough. Never had it happen on any other bottle. Good whiskey though. For the price especially.
yes i saw the dots between dew as i examined the bottle today i purchased the bottle of tullamore dew today and im very pleased with the smooth taste and smell..very good and rivals jack daniels my previous purchase..i did previously watch a irish distillery video to help me decide..ten out of ten tullamore
Vgood review got this whiskey nice one 👍
Nice! I've always overlooked Tullamore D.E.W. since it did not seem very interesting. I've never tried it so it was nice to have someone do it for me! :) Oh! And I ordered a bottle of Tobermory 10 yo today since it comes from the same people as ledaig wich I like so much.
Let me know what you think!
Thank you for your review. I love it!
Have you ever tried the 12? It's so much better and pretty cheap!
You need to be careful when you tighten those metal twist caps...
I completely agree ⭐️
I bought this for $16 before text and will absolutely buy it again once finished. Personally I think this is far better than the original Bushmills. I consider myself to be an experienced whiskey drinker and think that this is great value for the money. Taste and enjoyment factor are most important to me. I am not saying that this is the best out there but I am saying that it is quality stuff and my enjoyment factor is up there with whiskey's costing 3 and 4 times as much.
I did not notice the D. E. W. until it was explained at a Tasting. Very Nice review! I have the PHOENIX on my shelf now and I have had the 12 y.o., but your review here has perked my interest in the NAS TULLY.

How's the Phoenix?
I enjoyed The Phoenix Very Much!! Here are my Notes:
SLÁINTE
Mike
TULLAMORE D.E.W. Phoenix Blended Irish Whiskey
3/22/18
Triple Distilled 55% ABV NAS
A Blend of Grain, Single Malt and Single Pot Still Whiskies
Non-Chill-filtered Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks
Left the bottle uncorked for an hour to open up
COLOR: Mahogany Many Legs running swiftly
NOSE: Rich sweet grape note, from the bottle, after the whiskey opened up. In the glass, a complex nose, sweet grape upfront transitioning to a sweet candy note as it sits with a bit of spiciness underneath.
PALETTE: Sweet grape arrival with spice quickly moving in. A little Hot yet not overpowering. The sweet grape/candy note blends with the spiciness in the rich mouthfeel to create a nice complexity
FINISH: Spicy and drying yet with an air of sweetness lingering; lightly Mouthwatering
With 1 drop of Distilled water
NOSE: A Caramel sweetness with Spice underneath. The grape note reappears as I swirl it.
PALETTE: A Spicy grape arrival with the spice emerging but the sweet grape re-appears as I swirl it to mix with the spice. There is also a drying sense. There is still a rich mouthfeel.
FINISH: Very Spicy and drying.
With 2 drops of Distilled water
NOSE: A light caramel candy sweetness
PALETTE: Very Dry arrival with spiciness rising and light candy sweetness behind. A Very Peppery tingly mouthfeel Spice Not Alcohol burn. A light candied sweetness emerges as I swirl it.
FINISH: Light sweetness followed by pepper spice ending in a mouthwatering sweetness.
This is a Very Nice Complex glass of whisky. The mix of grape and or grape candy sweetness and spiciness remains NEAT or with water. They just change places in my experience of them. It is interesting the the Single Pot Still Spiciness was most prominent with 2 drops of water, but the sweetness and spice did a dance across my experience with one taking center stage at one time but the other coming in to compliment it; trading places as I enjoyed the medley.. A Very well done Whiskey. Highly Recommended!
My favorite daily drinker
reviewing green spot would be really nice too
How can we not be subscribed to this?! Remedied now :)
Thanks for your review!
Hell yea
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary "...a good one to practice on" you said. I'm sipping it , purchased as a bargain, while viewing again your video! Your tips are good.
Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying them!
Fireball!!!!
Good and smooth whisky 👍👍👍
My prefered method of drinking this is in chilled glass, so smooth with notes of caramel
Nice house
Thanks :)
I get the apples right away but it's not really like a fresh apple, is more like that really musky smell of rotten apples. I'm not sure if it's just the notes you mentioned all kinda blending together and my inexperience just combining "honey + apples + copper = rotten apples" or something.
Don't get me wrong though, I love the smell of rotten apples, so I'm not listing this as a negative.
Thats one thing I love... you can describe something gross, but... in a good way!
Got to try the Phoenix at cask strength at the distillery, good stuff
That's good to hear! I am super interested in trying it!
The Whiskey Dic very delicate yet bold and strong due to its cask strength. But in a good way
It's 35 dollars here in Virginia. I bought it once. It wasn't bad but I kept getting this green grassy note that I just couldn't stand but all in all I thought it was ok.
I do buy & d.e.w. Stock it, awesome whiskey 🥃
Never seen the D.E.W. periods before. Liked the D.E.W.. Which one is your favorite? Nice review.
I've only had a couple so far. I'll save that opinion for the video :)
The Whiskey Dic fair enough😁
There's good and bad screw tops, but tullamore's... let's say they're quite open-plan
This is my next whiskey to try. At the moment, I'm sipping Gentleman Jack and loving it. I'm not a fan of the black label no. 7,too pungent to my tongue. I'm looking for more bourbons. This is from a fan of Canadian Windsor fan of many years, along with Kessler and Maker's Mark.
Just be aware that Tullamore Dew is very different than a bourbon
You should try *American Barrel Whiskey* . Would love to see what you think.
Love your channel. Just found it
Thanks Gloom! I'm happy you found me. What had you looking up Tullamore Dew?
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary awesome question. Well I just got into drinking whiskey, and bought a variety of small bottles and this was one of them and I like to look at facts of the whiskey when I'm drinking it. Makes it much more appealing. IDK, something about the rich history and everything, knowing our ancestors drank it like the nectar of the gods makes me want to drink it.
You're preaching to the choir my friend. The history behind the brands is what got me so interested as well. The research part is what I love.
What other bottles did you purchase? Being as how you're new, feel free to ask for some recommendations. I'd be happy to help. Or you can check out some of my "beginner buying guides".
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary yes I already did check that video out, before you said that. Thank you though.lol I'm a very obsessive UA-camr watcher.. And the other liquors i got were, LTD Canadian whiskey, and bushmills whisky, (just the whiskey that is) so....I have a good question. Do you think that whiskey" buzz" is different that other Alcohol beverages, in terms of feeling?
That's a great question. I was talking about that last night. I think the hangovers can be drastically different but my opinion is that the buzz has more to do with the situation people tend to drink things in.
For example, people tend to shoot tequila and sip whiskey. Intake is usually over a longer time frame.
Beer tends to take a while too but people have more of it and are often being active.
Jack and coke is like extra energy mixed with bad decisions. You know what I mean?
Did you get the Bushmills original?
Bill, Definitely an easier drinker and sipper. I was surprised how much I liked this one; lots of different flavors and that honey silkiness. Is that metallic note kindalike a grain attribute? I wonder how the higher priced Tullamores will do (pun intended)? Cheers!!
I had to ask the same question, and answered it with double the price 12 Year Reserve, and it comes through a bit darker with a fig component and oak barrel note, plus for a 40 ABV the finish hangs around much longer. I'm stocking the 12 Year Reserve too (already stock the base D.E.W.).
My friends were telling me about this product, from their dialect, I tried to spell the brand name to search so I spelled: "Tillama" dew, yes UA-cam found Tullamore..lol.
I'm glad you did! Have you tried it yet?
22$?
Here in germany you can get it for 12€
It usually costs about €30 here in Ireland.
$28 here in Seattle Wa.
My experience with Irish whiskey is EXTREMELY limited - exactly three. I like Jameson and Bushmills, but I rate Tullamore Dew very low. It might be worth $5, but it's nowhere near worth the $32 I paid. 🙁
If you want banana, go for some Jack daniel's Single Barrel Select... The banana should jump out of the bottle right at you!
really enjoying watching your videos man! I visited the Tullamore factory last year (Videos somewhere in my content if you want to check it out an inside look around) really enjoy this & jamesons
Thanks! I'd like to get up there sometime soon!
"God no. Never!" 😅😅
Signature
$22 , you got a good deal
Fireball!!! YES!!!
Noooo
It's too buttery for me. Do a review of Michael Collins.
Life’s hard when you’re victimized by twist tops and taxes.
It sure is
I'm a beginner... But like more sweet than oaky Taste, not like jack Daniels Honny.... Recommend me 5 brands.
Richard Dalmau Four Rose's single barrel
Jameson, Bushmills ( white), Four roses, Johnnie Walker Red, Crown Royal deluxe.
There must be better ..
.
Wuuu!!
Are you a drunk white girl?
How did you know?
I can't stand this stuff, had to watch a review to determine what it was exactly I didn't like
Did you figure it out?
