  • A brief review of the excellent 5.11 Rush 12 sling pack and philosophical discussion of homestead defense using the loadout presented. The pack was acquired from Field & Stream for $108 of my hard-earned money and I can only hope it will bring some peace of mind!

    I commend your effort. I have done the same for my better half since she was living at the retreat while I worked almost 300 miles away. It was piece of mind for me as well.I have built several BOB's over the years and now that I have retired I'm re-working all our BOBs or now SYSTEMS as you call your bags.Thanks for your your videos.

    Good idea. I've been making a similar bag to keep in my truck.

    Thank you for sharing this video. I think she would appreciate a flashlight and a head lamp.

    Nice setup, but the pack you're showing is a 5.11 Tactical Moab 10, not a Rush 12. The Rush 12 is a backpack, not a sling pack.

      Jet Collado roger that. The label on the rack said rush 12 so that’s what I called. We’ll all this a retail fail, then.

    That's my current edc/get home bag. If anyone questions it it's just my "man purse" get at me. It's a great pack.

    I commend you on the attempt to return the second knife. Very few have the integrity to do that, especially several attempts. God rewarded you for doing the right thing.

      BTW, since mfr's are starting to use "multi" on the receivers, you can still double check by looking at the top of the barrel. It'll have twist rate, chambering, and "CHF", if it's a cold hammer forged barrel, stamped along the top.

    Bear, I get it. My wife might not, but I do. Being I'm a Navy vet, I get it, and not because I'm a vet. But because, honestly, I don't think some vets thought of that kind of bag.
    Peace brother, Sholom.

    We use the same bag its not dedicated to anything it adapts to the occasion. Right now its set-up as a medical bag.

    Add a couple fiah hook and line rolled up nice and you could add a small reel. Not to big not heavy at all. It provides food really fast.

    Just watched Reid Hendricks video on plate carriers and he showed many different options such as a plate carrier with nothing on it then a rig that you throw on. Maybe a bandolier ? Something like that would be easier for her.

    Those straps in the clear bag are to attach it to a bigger pack or to attach a smaller pack to it.

    Like that set up too.
    Just curious, what optic is on your wife's rifle?

    • @BearIndependent
      @BearIndependent  6 років тому

      it's actually a Chinese knockoff red-dot that has been surprisingly dependable and accurate. I've been wanting to replace it with an Aimpoint but it just... keeps... going...

    • @Just_Chuck_It
      @Just_Chuck_It 6 років тому

      Wow! Cool. Before you go and drop $600 on an Aimpoint. Look at Primary Arms their comparable optics are a fraction of the cost. There red dots are preform identical to Aimpoints. They even have constant on 60,000 hour battery life. I have 2 of thier Micro red dots (compare to Aimpoint T1) and one of thier 30mm red dots (Compare to Aimpoint PRO). They even take all Aimpoint mounts and accessories.

      @@BearIndependent I would suggest replacing it before it breaks. Tomorrow the SHTF and you'll be saying should have gotten a better sight or even worse your wife swearing at you.

      Oh you would prefer your wife to not have the ability to protect herself and sustain herself and all that if you can't be there? I guess you don't care about you like that much then huh or being able to do what she needs to do in the event she needs to do it so good to know about that about you
