    Fantastic work, Johnny! 😃
    But yeah, as more water you can send far away from the shop the better!
    Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

    Great work on the shop. It really sucks your shop flooded. One suggestion for the walnut, since its small; maybe you can try making some small boards using your shop tools. it would be a way to show how hobbyists can pretend to be matt Cremona on a small scale. Just a thought!

    Hi Johnny, as someone who is very allergic to poison ivy, I was wondering if you were at all worried about chipping the poison ivy vines. Honestly, I don't know if dry vines can cause an allergic reaction, but it seemed that I could catch poison ivy by just walking by it! Regardless, that was great work clearing out those trees, and I'm sure it's very satisfying to view that area now!

    Wish you had mentioned the need for people to call 811 or DigSafe prior to trenching. So many people fail to do so and end up hitting pipes, utilities, and other valuable stuff.

    What are the regulations regarding replanting where you live? up here I think we have laws about needing to replant whenever you take out a tree, but I don't know how it works elsewhere

    Good job on that tree, especially after only watching some videos. I always find it funny when people cut the notch then cut all the way through from the other side, causing the bottom to push out towards the back and pushing into whatever they were trying to save. Would have been disastrous if you made that mistake here, because that would have taken out that sheet metal wall and whatever is on the inside without a doubt.

    • @craftedworkshop
      @craftedworkshop  10 місяців тому +1

      For sure, this tree would have caused massive damage if I hadn't done things correctly, hence why I spent so much time trying to learn before trying this!

    Great job! But 1/2" for 10ft. us a little too aggressive. Usually, it is 1/4" for 10ft. I know it works the way you made it, it's just that water will rush too fast. Anyway, you did a great job!

    As a former arborist, this makes me really trust your ability to do research and/or use common sense. You handled the extremely dangerous wood chipper perfectly (standing to the side, not getting pulled in by vines, etc.), and your tree felling was exactly right. Nice work.

    • @WildAcresFarms
      @WildAcresFarms 10 місяців тому +3

      He found the BC Faller playlist. As a fellow professional arborist? Guys.
      If you don’t do trees for a living? Watch. That. Series.
      Skip all the farmers and offgrid guys “teaching” felling techniques in how-to videos… and go straight to the British Columbia Forestry program’s instructional playlist. This is how full-time loggers in the Pacific Northwest safely fall massive trees.

    • @craftedworkshop
      @craftedworkshop  10 місяців тому

      That's awesome to hear! After watching that series, it really gave me the confidence to take this on myself. The sense of pride when the tree dropped exactly where I wanted it was an incredible feeling.
