I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment listening to this for the first time in ten years since first hearing it doing a deeper dive into their catalog. I just finally rediscovered the title of this particular track so vindicating to see as comment while listen this morning. Cheers bros
That happened to me. This past holiday season I was visiting my daughter and something made this song pop in my head. I was 9 when it came out. I loved it then. I’m about to turn 60 next week. The song sounds better today!
My favorite Fifth Dimension song, and her voice is just timeless. Much like Karen Carpenter, singers who really put their heart and soul into it. voices we definitely don’t hear these days.
I'm not trying to be quaint, I'm really hoping for a real answer here. Why doesn't anyone sing like this anymore? Is it like a style thing? Is it to hard for this generation, or what. I mean she's using her real voice, not copying any style. It's freaking beautiful. I mean the vibrato and perfect notes. People need to sing like this more please 💙
Remember these days today's youth only look up to autotuned singers for inspiration....unless a singer with skills looks into older music genres they'll never see what used to be known as beautiful talent worth taking the time to enjoy or learn from. And in this electronic world built of short attention span vids skills/talent aren't looked upon as a positive thing compared to the idiocy displayed to the world for 5 mins of fame ( for a 30 second vid) 😳
I learned yesterday that an off and on again friend/lover had passed. We met 52 years ago & made so many memories during the Spring and Summer of 1971! We lost touch until early 2019, when we picked up where we left off. As great as it was to reconnect, we were unable to establish a healthy relationship and parted on good terms. But last night, I didn't get to sleep at all.
My sister and i had to stay with a neighbor as our mom and my older siblings arrived to the hospital to check on my dad. This song was playing on the radio as they walked into the room to tell us that our dad had died from a massive heart attack at the tender age of 41. We didn't sleep that night! Many years later, I miss him terribly. RIP dad ❤
I was 15 when I heard this song. My grandma was taking me to school and this was on the station she was playing. I had chills the whole way! I know a good song when I hear it ❣️
I'm 52 and haven't heard this song in decades. I woke up this morning and told my wife "Last night I didn't get to sleep at all". But couldn't remember the song. Such a soulful and powerful voice! I wish music was still like 60s-80s stuff!!
2024. Heard it first when I was in Kindergarten. Been hooked on music since! I have Schizophrenia and Manic Depression, listening to this calms my nerves.💕
This song was written by British author, composer & song writer Tony MacCaulay. What a brilliant rendition by Marilyn McCoo. Superb performance 👏 by Fifth Dimension.
Beautiful lady, beautiful voice, and beautiful song! I was a little kid when this song came out. But I knew how special her voice, the song and the group were!
As I listen. Memories are dusted off. The words are sung like it's yesterday. My body seems to have a little more zip to it today. Look there! Is that a ray of sunshine coming through the window? (I didn't notice it a moment ago.) I feel like today has a special flavor to it for some reason. Thanks.
They probably wouldn't be able to make as much money as they would like. Sadly they are only targeting the younger generation and leaving the rest of out.
Every time I hear this bittersweet beautiful song, it is like a time machine that takes me back to that time in the 70s when my girl friend and I broke up. Marilyn, your lovely voice still makes my heart ache for my first love.
Such a beautiful song. Very complex if you pay attention to the bass and drums interplay. But her voice...she's beautiful in so many ways. I love this song!
One of around four or so specific and very unique, appealing songs by a variety of artists that will always remind me of that timeframe in which they all coincidentally and simultaneously rose together on the charts with heavy airplay---May-June 1972----soon to be an unbelievable 50 years since.
⭐️THE 5th DIMENSION we’re such a wonderful vocal group . Great talent & vocals with such incredible LIVE in concert performances in their prime . I was lucky to have seen them and it was a memorable show . They were the very BEST ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I hope you have overcome this struggle. Nothing worse to face the next day exhausted. Rhonda can help you get someone out of your head and heart. Keep the faith cuz there is a rainbow with lots of rewards and happiness..
Marilyn McCoo is one of the greatest female singers EVER and is terribly underrated.
I agree.
I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment listening to this for the first time in ten years since first hearing it doing a deeper dive into their catalog. I just finally rediscovered the title of this particular track so vindicating to see as comment while listen this morning. Cheers bros
Extremely underrated, they were all great singers. Real music. A class act!!
Underrated Singer is an Understatement...Dionne Warwick...Natalie Cole ...Dianna Ross..in that League for Sure...
"And that's a fact"🥰
I was so lucky, get to enjoy the 60s, 70s, and 80s music as I was growing up.
One of the greatest vocal groups. Marilyn McCoo has the voice of an angel.
A face to march.
@@David-yw2lvto match.
Her best vocal performance.
There is a special unique thrill and delight when you hear an old much loved song you haven't heard for years, or decades.
Very true !!
That happened to me. This past holiday season I was visiting my daughter and something made this song pop in my head. I was 9 when it came out. I loved it then. I’m about to turn 60 next week. The song sounds better today!
I feel you!
Isn't it wonderful - one of the great joys of youtube.
For sure! You're right! 👊
There will NEVER be another "Marilyn McCoo". Her voice and whole aura, just overflows class and elegance. 🎵🎶💖🌺

She had one of the finest female voices of the 20th Century!
Beautiful person❤️❤️❤️
My favorite Fifth Dimension song, and her voice is just timeless. Much like Karen Carpenter, singers who really put their heart and soul into it. voices we definitely don’t hear these days.
60 years old here. I’d forgotten what an incredibly beautiful voice Marilyn had.
66 anos aqui e feliz por recordar esta bela canção, esta bela voz, este maravilhoso grupo!!! Do Brasil
I'm not trying to be quaint, I'm really hoping for a real answer here.

Autotune has completely wrecked the natural singing voice of today's vocalists.
Sadly most of today's singers think it's about vocal gymnastics!

Things move on, I guess
Society dictated that this music won't play again after the 70s.
Marylyn McCoo's reward was to be part of this beautiful music in her lifetime.
Marilyn McCoos voice is from a place called Heaven
Still love 5th Dimension to this day. Never gets old.
I learned yesterday that an off and on again friend/lover had passed. We met 52 years ago & made so many memories during the Spring and Summer of 1971! 😢
She had the best diction and such a smooth voice.
Marilyn's voice is beautiful and so is she!!! She is simply STUNNING!!!!
Fact!
My sister and i had to stay with a neighbor as our mom and my older siblings arrived to the hospital to check on my dad. This song was playing on the radio as they walked into the room to tell us that our dad had died from a massive heart attack at the tender age of 41. We didn't sleep that night! She has the best voice and I love her songs

I was 15 when I heard this song. My grandma was taking me to school and this was on the station she was playing. I had chills the whole way! I know a good song when I hear it ❣️
This is my favorite one of their songs.
Magic. If we could only go back. Love it.
I'm 52 and haven't heard this song in decades. I woke up this morning and told my wife "Last night I didn't get to sleep at all". But couldn't remember the song.
Such a soulful and powerful voice!
I wish music was still like 60s-80s stuff!!
I always liked this Bacharach influenced song better then their actual Bacharach hit, "One Less Bell To Answer."
70s had the absolute best music..I miss it so much😢
Marilyn McCoo a very beautiful woman with a very beautiful voice. The complete package.

Unbelievably amazing voice with such beautiful range!!
Marilyn McCoo has a fantastic voice! One of my favorites! I never tire of listening to her. Beautiful! Beautiful! Voice!
I lay awake and watched until the morning light washed away the darkness of the lonely night.
Perfect lyrics and delivery
Simplisly the Best song in the World in whole times
I was born in ‘59, and I vividly remember listening to the 5th Dimension. I am amazed that I remember all of their lyrics. ❤❤❤
Beautiful lady, beautiful voice, and beautiful song! I was a little kid when this song came out. But I knew how special her voice, the song and the group were!
After Wedding Bell Blues,Marilyn McCoo basically became a solo act with the 5th Dimension as her backing vocalists.
Plenty of great music over the 60+ years I've been listening but Marilyn McCoo & Yvonne Elliman are still tops with me.
Back when I was a Teenager, we had Cool Music that could stand the Test of Time
A top ten song from 1972 this is Marilyn McCoo's best vocal performance
The voice of the era
Not only beautiful but her voice is perfection! Lucky enough to live in Las Vegas at the height of their career and saw them perform!
This song reminds me of some one says they loves you but as someone else what kind of love is that they need to go away
As I listen.
Memories are dusted off.
The words are sung like it's yesterday.
My body seems to have a little more zip to it today.
Look there!
Is that a ray of sunshine coming through the window?
(I didn't notice it a moment ago.)
I feel like today has a special flavor to it for some reason.
Thanks.
i'm glad no commercial product got a hold of this beautiful song..
They probably wouldn't be able to make as much money as they would like. Sadly they are only targeting the younger generation and leaving the rest of out.
The 5thD rank alongside "The Mamas & The Papas" as the great harmony groups of the sixties.

One of the best during my childhood in the 60s and 70s.
One of around four or so specific and very unique, appealing songs by a variety of artists that will always remind me of that timeframe in which they all coincidentally and simultaneously rose together on the charts with heavy airplay---May-June 1972----soon to be an unbelievable 50 years since.
Happy 50th anniversary to this great song by the 5th dimension; it’s May 2022 as I post my comment! May this song live on for another 50 years!
