The movie was filmed with there being two killers. Angelina being the second killer. It wasn't changed until the very end. This is why she acted creepy and got Sidney to follow her from the bathroom to the set. Her true backstory was that she was a classmate of Sidney's who was obsessed with her. The idea was dropped last minute because Roman dating the girl playing his sister was a bit creepy. There is an ending out there shot of Roman and Angelina vs. Sidney, but it's never been seen outside of an early test screening. The footage is buried somewhere in the studio archives.

Roman being the only killer is better.
I like to think Angelina was indeed one of the killers but Roman betrayed and killed her before the final showdown.
There's also rumors that Patrick Dempsey was told originally that he would be one of the killers. Scott Foley wasn't told until late into filming he would be the killer, and IMO, that's because the original script had Detective Bailey and Angelina as the original killers. Bailey works a lot better in the "lost half brother role", if you rewatch the movie and focus on his character and his lines, it all fits a lot smoother. Shame we never got that version.
Roman’s motive was because he was given up at birth and he tracked her down as an adult and she wanted nothing to do with him. It was an expansion on Billy’s mother abandonment issues.
He also showed the affairs to Billy to stoke the flames of his jealously to get him to kill his mother for him.
It doesn’t affect the plot of 2 at all. Nancy wouldn’t have known about Roman and she wouldn’t care either way because Maureen still broke up her marriage and Sidney then took her son.
I think this film doesn’t get enough credit for devoting a significant amount of time creating more lore for the backstory when most third entries wouldn’t even bother. Especially for a character like Maureen whom we never met technically in any of the films.
I think it’s especially cool that they delved into her trauma and tried to get you to sympathize more with her character after essentially making her the villain.
Seeing Sidney grapple with the relationship with her mother I thought was especially rewarding when Sidney is finally able to come to terms with her when she finds out what happened with her mother and that her own brother was the reason her boyfriend even knew about the affairs in the first place and now that she’s made peace with her mother and in a way her secret brother that started this entire ordeal for her, she can move on with her life at last.

Believe it or not, that knife is EXTREMELY sharp. It’s a damn good hunting knife irl and it works very well for its intended purpose. It just has a VERY thick blade, unlike kitchen knives. It’s a sharp and THICC blade. That blade can take meat off of bone with ease. It would def hurt like hell because it’s thick blade lol

The thing about the blade looking dull is because it's too dangerous to film using it in some shots. 5 and 6 utilize a CGI knife and it looks AMAZING! You can literally feel the stabbing.
Scream 2 suffered the first major script leak online. That's why they had constant rewrites. Wes Craven hated the Weinsteins and did not want to do another movie after Scream 3. The original script for Scream 3 was actually supposed to show us that Stu had survived the first movie and was leading a Ghostface cult from prison with a bunch high school Ghostfaces. But then Columbine happened and the studio decided not to depict teen violence. Matthew Lillard got paid for the role and everything was ready to go but they changed everything. Also, the writer for this one is a different person because the orginal writer, Kevin Williamson, was too busy with a bunch of movies and TV shows. The writer for this one recently won an Oscar.
Knowing this, there should be a Scream 3 Director’s cut.
I would have liked to have seen that if the movie footage existed somewhere.

I love the Original 3. 4 was awesome and 5 & 6 are refreshing. And YES, Scream 3 is my favorite
This movie is a fun watch, Carrie Fisher having a cameo is one of my favorite things about this movie
So originally this movie was supposed to be entirely different. It was supposed to be revealed that Stu Macher was still alive but in prison and he had a following of people who worshipped him on the outside doing his “work” as an army of ghostfaces essentially. But then there was a national tragedy that put a lot of pressure on the idea of these types of movies being responsible for real life actions. So they completely changed it last minute. Then on top of that, Neve Campbell was only available for 20 days of shooting time so that’s why her screen time is so small compared to the first two and it focused more on the supporting cast. The scream 3 we didn’t get was supposed to be legendary.
They added in the proposal at the end because that was the same year Courtney Cox and David Arquette got married in real life. Their love story literally follows the Scream franchise, lol. They met during Scream, started dating while making Scream 2, got married at the same time as Scream 3, and were still married for the 4th. It was after Scream 4 when they got separated and divorced.
I love the whole scene between Roman and Sidney. You can really feel that sibling vibe between the arguing back and forth and the fighting. One of the things that I love about Sidney is she doesn't care who you are she's not afraid to talk shit back to them and can be savage lol (except for Randy he did that and got killed for shit talking on Billy with Ms. Loomis). She is mostly the one who doesn't beg for her life and actually fights back with balls (well, Gale and Dewey did a little bit in the 3rd). The ending, though between Roman and Sidney, when they held each other's hand that right there is my all-time favorite moment between a hero/vilian, it felt so bittersweet between them both. Like you can see, she feels for him cause he was rejected by their mother, but at the same time, it's about survival and doing what she has to do to survive. For him it's he always wanted a family but got rejected by his birth mother, and then the jealousy and resentment just took over. Also, it didnt help with it being his 30th birthday and became a trigger that made him snap and went after Sidney.
Eh, problem is Sidney and Roman never shared a scene together before the reveal.
I love Scream 3. I love all six Scream films. There's no such thing as a bad Scream movie.

Awesome reaction. I enjoy the thought-provoking and interesting conversation afterward as much as the reaction. I appreciated that you appreciated the "open door scene" with Sidney at the end. Many reactors are annoyed at it and are concerned about bugs coming in, but I agree that it's a great way to end the franchise.
Also, Angelina was supposed to be the 2nd killer (working with Roman) but they changed the ending last-minute. It explains why the killer had the ability to teleport and be in two places at once.
This movie is also less scary and graphic than previous iterations because it was in production around the time Columbine happened and violence in cinema was a hot-button issue.

Some fun facts for you.
Fact 1: Sarah's character (who was killed in the studio office) and the outfit she wore when she died was purposely made by Wes to make fun of Sarah Michelle Gellar from Scream 2. I guess him and SMG didn't really get along. Sarah Darling was only in two scenes and dressed similar to CiCi in Scream 2.
Fact 2: Originally, it was only going to be a trilogy. That's why Randy was giving the rules of a trilogy cause that's what it was. The ending with leaving the door open was a symbolism how now she felt at peace and how she could finally live her life. Im glad you noticed that cause most reacters dont with the whole leaving the door open. Scream 4 and so on didn't come into the picture till years down the line when all of the other movies/TV shows were making remakes. So, of course, they had to poke fun with that, lol.
Fact 3: Wes did the Cameo video with Randy because he regretted killing him off so early and for the back lash he got from the fans, lol. That's why Tyson made that little comment about how "the killer was probably some pissed off fan that Randy was killed in Stab 2" lol.
Fact 4: The original script was going to be Stu coming back that he survived the tv and had been in prison and orchestrated a cult to go after Sidney. Roman, the half-brother story was literally the last-minute change. Just before they started filming the 3rd the Columbine shooting massacre happened and it hit to close to home so they were forced to scrap that storyline because of it and that's why the kills weren't that extreme as the other movies. It was a rough time when that happened for the tv shows/horror cinema. So they changed it to Roman and Angelina as the killers where Angelina went to high school with Sidney. But they had to change it again during filming and left it only being Roman as the solo killer. That's why, in some scenes, Angelina was really sketchy. So for the 3rd, it was a solo killer.
Fact 5: In the movie, they brought up a lot on how scripts kept getting changed for Stab 3. Well, they were also making fun with it because of the number of times they had to change the script between Scream 2 and 3.
Fact 6: The mansion for the final act, the outside, and the upstairs hallway where Tyson was killed is the same one from Halloween H20 where Laurie was running a school.
Fact 7. Yes, you guys were correct. John Milton character was based off of Weinstien one of their producers. During first Scream filming, he harassed Rose McGowan (Tatum). Can you imagine how awkward it would be to produce a movie that's based about you in that manor? lol. Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson wanted to expose him for who he was.
Fact 8. When Gale and Jennifer first met and Gale told her " I'm sorry about Brad Pitt I bet being single that was a pretty good fall back" That was a 1 liner for Jennifer Aniston to poke fun with being co-stars on "Friends" lol.
You didn't get why the detective said his life was a horror movie? He is a homicide detective xD He meant he had seen horrible murders before and stuff like that.

Angelic(the girl with the stolen props) was actually the 2nd GF and Roman's partner...this would explain why Roman was able to be everywhere and not "teleporting".... they changed this at the last minute and went with one /GF killer(which made no sense).

6:42 Sidney absolutely did cause him trouble. Again, her FALSE testimony put him in prison for a year. Do you think being wrongly imprisoned for r*** and murder isn’t traumatizing? Lol and as for him and Sidney’s little convo while Mrs Loomis had Sidney at knife point, he was trying to psych Mrs Loomis out. He even said “sidney I’d never do anything to hurt you.” After he literally saved her life. You don’t give him enough credit. He’s not a fan fave obviously or even my fave, Gale is, which is fine but I had to express that lol. Now his approach to trying to get her on Diane sawyer was a horrible approach but he said what he had to say🤷♂️ she put him in prison for a year and made a 0% attempt to make it up to him except saying “I’m sorry”

So, the plan was that Roman was just going to be the puppet master staying behind the curtain kind of thing. Setting it up to where he convinces and manipulate Billy and his accomplice (Stu) to only go after Maureen Prescott. No one would have ever expected Roman as the killer since no one knew about him or the connection. Where if it all went wrong then it would only fall on Billy and Stu.
But, after they killed her, they got a taste for it and decided to continue on for themselves with Sidney and their peers a year later. Roman created the domino effect he is who created Billy, and then Billy became like a free baby bird who left its masters nest with the lessons he was taught and forged his own path and created the Ghostface image.
( Roman : And once I supplied the motivation... all the kids needed was a few pointers. Have a partner to sell out in case you got caught, find someone to frame (Cotton), it was like he was making a movie.
Sidney : You... this is all because of you.
Roman : I'm a director, Sid, I direct.
Sidney : Ah.
Roman : I had no idea that they were gonna make a film of their own. I mean, intoducing Sidney the victim, Sidney the survivor, SIDNEY THE STAR! )
-Scream 2 was just about revenge for Ms. Loomis and just hired Mickey as her lackey.
-Then, Scream 3, with it coming into his 30th birthday and directing a movie about Sidneys life it was Iike a mental trigger for him. He ended up going after her due to the jealousy of their mom only wanting Sidney and wanting nothing to do with him. Maureen even tried to convince him that his mom was dead, so it struck a nerve, and that's exactly what he did.

i somehow end up rewatching these movies every time i'm sick (like today! :D) and every time i'm reminded how much i love dewey. he's 100% my favourite character, no competition (sid is a close second, though). as much as i love gale n love them together, it's just a little satisfying to watch him give gale shit lmao

so the script for scream 2 leaked online so that movies ending was changed, so for this movie to try to prevent it they had multiple scripts I think in the end it hurt this movie, they kinda started filming it without settling on a killer/killers, the souvenir girl i think was supposed to be the second killer but that was changed after filming started
By the time they started filming they knew it was Roman. The entire premise of the movie is based on the reveal.
The Maureen backstory and picture calling card wouldn’t work with anyone else except Neil, and they did consider it for a brief minute but long before the shooting script was finalized. Which is online. The main difference is Angelina being Roman’s girlfriend. They cut that.

much like SAW the 1st 3 screams are a trilogy the additional movies are like this is showing how life went for them after but it's for sure a new story it connects still like the STAB series and some characters but it is for a new generation and feels different to the established canon like in this upcoming series the trilogy is history to these kids if that makes sense I swear it well when you dive in to the new ones

I always look at this as the conclusion to the series main plot, and the fourth movie as a fun epilogue.
I ignore the 5 and 6 movies since Wes Craven didn't direct them.

okay kids i haven't seen scream 6 yet but I pre-ordered it on DVD I'm watching a ton of people react to them scream 3 is NOONES favorite just please don't give up on the movies cause of this it leaned in more to being funny cause of school shooting & they dialed back the gore then spoilers got out so they dropped the partner who was Stab Sid this movie still isn't the leave of trash the tv series is i will never rewatch that i never finished it but the movies I love

This is the lowest point in the scream franchise my two huge problems with it is 1 in 2000 there is no way that a voice changer could mimic human voice so perfectly and 2 the plot holes in this movie because of all the rewrites because the ending kept getting leaked online. Its not a horrible movie its just not as great as what came before.
I still love this movie it was my introduction to this franchise so it holds a very place in my heart. I really liked scream 6 it’s currently 3rd place in my ranking behind the original and scream 2 cause there’s a lot of plot holes, lots of unbelievable moments, obvious identity of ghostface, and some cringe acting in the 3rd act other than that it’s so good.

I personally loved this as it shows Roman and Sidney being equals as they said in the fight. Him being 1 ghostface was great and different he was extremely intelligent, athletic and went hand to hand with his victims he was brutal in that department.
I don't know why so many people think the voice changer was so unbelievable.. Roman was a music video and movie DIRECTOR IN HOLLYWOOD. He could have easily gotten it from somewhere in the industry OR could have paid some tech genius to make him a personalized voice changer. Then, with collecting the voices to be able to use. Cotton has his own tv show, Gale is a reporter, Dewey worked onset with him, He probably looked into the stuff that Maureen (Rina Roberts) was in to get hers, and then got Sidneys voice from the first time he called her when he used her mothers voice.
It was one of the smartest plays on here. It really made you think.. are you really talking to that person, or is it ghostface masking behind their voices. Like when Roman called Sarah Darling at the studio, it was like hiding in plain sight. We didn't know if it actually was him or someone else. He used Sidneys voice to lure Dewey and Gale to the mansion. So he could turn around to use them as bait to lure Sidney to him away from the cops. I knew right away it wasn't actually Sid. The caller, when talking to Dewey when she mentioned being protected by the LAPD at the end of it the caller had a like a little chuckle when talking about the cops. Then the caller cut Dewey off and hung up on him. Sidney would never do that to Dewey.

Scream 3 is definitely the weakest of the Scream films. Primarily because Kevin Williamson couldn't return to write it. Also due to the events of Columbine, they had to change a lot and even tone down the violence. Not a big fan of the goofier tone of 3, the retcon taking away from Billy and Stu, that stupid magic voice changer, and Roman himself while probably the best Ghostface until 6, is hella whiny.
Also, Shrek the Third is terrible.
