Fun fact: Drew Barrymore was promoted to be the main character of the movie in all the ads and commercials because she was initially going to be, she was really popular at the time but it was her idea to have her character die first to trick audiences who came to see her!

Various things Matthew Lillard said in the film are improvised, when he says “you fucking hit me with the phone dick!” after he’s hit in the head with the phone, which was never supposed to happen but the fake blood on Skeet Ulrich’s hand was so slippery it just flew out of his hand so fast and hit him in the head instead of on the counter. Scream (1996) has aged brilliantly and it will continue to do so. It's a ground breaker in horror especially for mid 90s American time. Ghostface is a simple outfit with a mask, but it's very scary with a knife. The pace of the film is great and the audience had no clue who the killer's were right until the end. Wes Craven made a masterpiece in horror films.
I never comment and say this when I watch reaction videos and the reactors are shocked about doors being unlocked and blinds beings open but ya'll seem cool so I gotta say --- I live in a rural community, it was much smaller when I was growing up (I am 44) and we never locked our doors or closed the blinds/curtains till we went to bed. Now that I have a house of my own in the same town, I still sometimes forget to lock my front doors or even close the garage. It makes me sad that we all don't live in a place like this as Americans. I can say that the reason I can fall asleep with all my doors unlocked is because my town of 30,000 people, for the most part, grew up with the same values and we watch out for each other. Sorry for rambling, been holding it in with these reactions lol. If we take care of each other ya don't have to worry about forgetting to lock a door :) :) :) Take care of everyone!
Us too in upstate NY. At one point my little brother lost his keys and we kept our door unlocked while no one was home the whole school year because he didn't want to tell that he lost the key and had no way to get in.
u believe just cause the community is small and ppl know each other, that none of them can be potentially dangerous? Even if they aren’t residents, anyone can simply open a door and walk in
Both Billy and Stu have different kill styles, Billy likes to strangle people and Stu raises his knife above his head with both hands and that's how you know it was Billy who killed Steve and Cassie at the beginning as he strangled Cassie.
Stu killed steve since billy was on the phone with cassie during that time but billy killed casey and stu probably helped hang her up. It’s impossible for billy to pull of those murders if he was alone
Hey guys! Loved your reaction. You're also a beautifull couple! Drew Barrymore was in her early twenties when this came out. She is a Hollywood legacy actor- her grandfather was a big actor named John Barrymore. Drew has been acting since she was very small in Stephen King movies like Firestarter and Cat's Eye(which are pretty good-she was about 9yrs old then.) She used to party at studio 54 as a little kid w ppl like The Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson and everything. Wes Craven and Drew were also using The Alfred Hitchcock formula by getting rid of the biggest star very early in the movie.
Yes indeed, Billy needed therapy 😂. This was one hell of a ride, reliving this moment with you guys! And great call on the close up on the cop’s boots, I never picked up on that and I’ve watched this numerous times!
Yall be killin me with clip inserts 😂. I was working at Blockbuster when this movie came out and we to call 12 on ppl coming in the store dressed up actin weird talking with them voice boxes. This was in the burbs they didn't have better shit to do with their lives 😂. They had me messed up tho📱👮🏾♂️😂
First time watching u guys! I enjoyed both of ur reactions. Ur girl is a survivor for sure wanting to punch all those reporters and stomping on the nuts of the killer to see if he’s still alive 😂
just subscribed ❤️ to answer the drew question in the scene at school when they’re all talking outside Randy mentions “that was before she left you for Steve” and Tatum got defensive and said “I thought you left her for me” that was the part he was just simply hating😂
Btw Ik Drew Barrymoore was 20 when she got the roll so was Neve Campbell all the teen characters were all about the same age 😂 also yes gayle was played by Courtney cox💅🏻✨
Not sure if you've been told this yet, but when they show the janitor that's dressed like Freddy Krueger, that is Wes Craven himself. It's a fun little Easter egg for all the Horror Fans.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard someone suggest for Drew to throw the phone in her parents direction 😂 and honestly I’ve never thought of it either 🤣🤣🤣
Drew start playing in early 80' so in 1996 she was already a star.. she's got the main role but there was conflict in schedule, so she played only intro :)
He killed Drew because she broke up with him. Remember when they were sitting at the fountain, they said "Didn't you used to date her" and he said yeah.
Actually, fun fact about Drew Barrymore she was going to be the survivor and be Sydney but she convinced them to make it more scarier than ever by having her killed the first then all bets was of for everyone
if you play it in slow motion when you see Sid’s dad come out of the closet after Sidney finishes Billy off you can see a hand come out of the closet when Sid dad come out of the closet still tied up
Very entertaining reaction! You my man have some good intelligence too. Pointed out it was weird the motive behind killing the principal, and it’s because Bob Weinstein had read 12 pages of the script and hadn’t seen a kill so they added it randomly at his request. Also you pointed out the boots on the sheriff being shown as a throw off to the audience, etc... Loved the reaction and keep doing your thing!!
She didn't lock her doors because the house is in the middle of nowhere. They killed Drew Barrymore because she dumped Stu for Steve, her current boyfriend who got gutted. They killed the principal because Harvey Weinstein thought there was too long without a death in the movie. Then Wes used it to clear the randos out of the house party later.
Fun Fact: Joaquin Phoenix was offered the role of Billy and Reese Witherspoon was offered the role of Sydney and they both turned down the roles. Joaquin and Reese went on to work together in Walk the Line. They both were nominated for Oscars, Reese won.
I haven’t watched this movie since I was a teen and I don’t do scary movies lol! And yet I just say and watched this with y’all! Someone I knew you would make it funny enough for me to get through though 😂
IDK if anyone else answered but they killed Drew Berrymore because Stu the other killer and her were dating and she broke up with him for the Steve guy they tied up and killed. They killed the principal just so school would be out I think.

Even if they aren’t residents, anyone can simply open a door and walk in
Not around here@@vvurbajael
Yeah same. Everything unlocked. Whole new world when I visit and the handle doesn’t twist and I gotta find a key.
I absolutely love watching people watch Scream for the first time! You guys are hilarious.
Yall def need to see the rest.... its the only framchise where ALL of them are really good....
Amen to that!
the franchise is great because it doesnt take itself too serious and not afraid to make fun of itself
You guys give good commentary. I will def continue to watch.
Love this channel!! Subscribed straight away!! This was so fun Thankyou!!!
I grew up in a town like this in the 90s we were definitely not locking doors the way you do today.
20 to be exact.
Such a great reaction!
Yes indeed, Billy needed therapy 😂.
This was one hell of a ride, reliving this moment with you guys! And great call on the close up on the cop’s boots, I never picked up on that and I’ve watched this numerous times!
The one thing I learned from this movie when I was a kid, don't humour crazy!
I was 15 when it came out so I couldn't watch it yet. But I watched it when I was 18. I will never have glass doors but if they want in they will.
My sister loved all these movies
Same here!!
"Im punching all these bitches" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Neve (Sidney) was 22/23 and Drew was 20/21 during filming.
All time favorite!! ahead of it’s time! I laughed all the way through with you two!! Keep up the great work!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🫶🏽
Thank you Classy ❤
First time watching u guys! I enjoyed both of ur reactions. Ur girl is a survivor for sure wanting to punch all those reporters and stomping on the nuts of the killer to see if he’s still alive 😂
just subscribed ❤️ to answer the drew question in the scene at school when they’re all talking outside Randy mentions “that was before she left you for Steve” and Tatum got defensive and said “I thought you left her for me” that was the part he was just simply hating😂
You guys' reactions were hilarious....had me cracking up 😅
Btw Ik Drew Barrymoore was 20 when she got the roll so was Neve Campbell all the teen characters were all about the same age 😂 also yes gayle was played by Courtney cox💅🏻✨
Neve Campbell (Sidney) was 22 when the movie was filmed in 95, and 23 when it released in 96.
Drew start playing in early 80' so in 1996 she was already a star.. she's got the main role but there was conflict in schedule, so she played only intro :)
Yesss y’all never miss ! Lol 😂 great reaction!
finally have time to watch this reaction I can’t wait 😭
All these years I kept saying throw the phone 😭😭 but she is in so much pain and dying she can’t think straight 🥺
Yooo you guys gotta watch ‘the thing’, it’s great and you guys would love it
We love that movie, especially the original !
He killed Drew because she broke up with him. Remember when they were sitting at the fountain, they said "Didn't you used to date her" and he said yeah.
This movie came out December 1996 during the 3rd season of Friends.
Drew was 21 and Neve Campbell was 23 when they filmed Scream.
Bro dude blue cap is funny asf 😂
Def watch the whole franchise but YES! SCREAM 6 is amazing.
Actually, fun fact about Drew Barrymore she was going to be the survivor and be Sydney but she convinced them to make it more scarier than ever by having her killed the first then all bets was of for everyone
Knew yall was from the towns before you said it lol. Liked and subscribed!
Lol welcome to the channel!!
if you play it in slow motion when you see Sid’s dad come out of the closet after Sidney finishes Billy off you can see a hand come out of the closet when Sid dad come out of the closet still tied up
Awesome reaction to the movie you couple should watch the others till the end it’s definitely worth the wait
OO this is in my top 3 movies. I know I'm going to love your reactions!
💙❤️ enjoy!!
I think they did it mostly cause she sat next to Sydney.
@@ChadSimpson-ft7yz Yeah, that too.
Fun Fact: Joaquin Phoenix was offered the role of Billy and Reese Witherspoon was offered the role of Sydney and they both turned down the roles. Joaquin and Reese went on to work together in Walk the Line. They both were nominated for Oscars, Reese won.
I found my new fav react channel!!! Y’all are so funny and have the best reactions. I really hope y’all watch the whole scream franchise ❤❤
😁😁😁 thank you what a wonderful compliment! We plan to!
I haven’t watched this movie since I was a teen and I don’t do scary movies lol! And yet I just say and watched this with y’all! Someone I knew you would make it funny enough for me to get through though 😂
Lolll!!!! i don’t like scary movies either but i can do the slashers
You guys were cracking me up 😂 subscribed! You have to finish the franchise! They are a lot of fun 🔪
😂😂 welcome to our Channel !!
Y'all definitely gotta watch them all in order
Black folks watchin scary movies is the funniest shit ever 🤣🤣🤣
IDK if anyone else answered but they killed Drew Berrymore because Stu the other killer and her were dating and she broke up with him for the Steve guy they tied up and killed. They killed the principal just so school would be out I think.
Ive never had to do the finger print ink jail thing but in my experience having had ink spilled on me or ink from a pen on the side of my hand or something I have noticed it takes more that a time or 2 to wash ink off. His fingers may have had ink on them but it was more faded which means he had washed his hands. Didn't look fresh to me.
Iconic opening ! please Watch the whole franchise

Y'all are awesome!!.. but I wouldn't consider scream a cult classic lol. Cult classic is a movie that either flew under the radar or didn't do well when it came out, this movie is neither lol
Mann ya’ll gon love Scream 2 🔥
please watch the whole entire franchise. You have to continue the story so please do that please all the other movies are so great you got to watch it please listen to us it’s worth watching
The second female reporter that speaks to Sidney briefly is actually Linda Blair the child from the Exorcist
Oh really ?! That’s dope
I keep waiting for someone to catch it. I remember hearing all the ‘oohs’ in the theater when she popped up🤣
You guys need to watch SLC Punk. It’s stars that goofball from this movie, Matthew Lillard. But he shows real acting chops and makes you want to cry at some points. Plus it’s really funny and also just messed up at other times.
"Surprised cheetos didn't fall out his neck." 😂
Sidney’s house sold for $1.4 million just before this movie came out in theaters in 1996.
My favorite horror franchise next to Halloween can’t wait for the other reactions it gets better every movie
