R2 is my preferred setting on the 6C for one day's growth, as I'm generally a daily shaver. It's super smooth and comfortable, and doesn't cause irritation. 👌
Here in Germany 'Tabac' is well known for decades... Althought I must admit that I don't really like the top and middle notes of the scent, the drydown is one of the most beautyful things I've ever smelled. Beside that, the company 'Mäurer&Wirtz' also launched an aftershave called 'Sir Irisch Moos' which is also very famous here in Germany since the early 70ies. It's a wonderful green smelling scent which is one of my absolute favourits and I'm sure you would love it, Paul ♥️🍀. Try to get one, you won't regret it. Greetings from Germany and stay safe ✌🇩🇪
Maybe its just me, but for me Irish Moss smells has a lovely fresh geen woody flavor for like two minutes and after that it smells like washing powder for like two hours. For me that explains why most women hate the smell of Irish moss.
My favourite DE razor. Even on 6 it is so smooth, regardless of the blade. I am debating getting some Tabac soap, but I can't recall the scent so am hesitating. Something tells me if it is a classic scent, I will be good with it. Thanks again Paul for another great Sunday Shave. Enjoy your day! Thanks as always to Mrs. H for the beautiful flowers.💐💈🪒🍁
Good morning Paul, nice shave and wonderful flower display by Mrs H. Tabac is a classic no doubt about that. Lovely staff for any shave den. SOTD: -Gillette Sterling DE Razor -Big Ben "Super Stainless" DE Blade -Omega 80097 boar Brush -TFS Rasozero "Tabacco" shaving soap -Osma alum block -Aqua Velva "Fresh Control" after shave lotion -Nivea sensitive pro "ultra-calming" after shave balm Keep up the good work and stay safe. Greetings from beautiful Northern Greece 🇬🇷❤️🌞!!
Hi Paul- Great weekend shave; thank you! The Rockwell 6C is great and I also change plates as I go through the shave, usually 5|4|3 on most days. A beautiful flower arrangement from Mrs H; thank you very much! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day together and have a great start to your week. Be safe and be well. See you on Wednesday for the mid-week shave. All the best, Paul!
Great Shave! I have a few shaves on my 6c and still haven't used all the plates. Had my best shave with plate six using a Nacet blade.Watching you shave makes me want to use all three plates as you did in this video. Which by the way is very informative great content, thank you so much.
A satisfying Sunday shave with two of my favorites. Tabac competes with any artisan soap I've used. It produces a great lather and has excellent residual slickness. In fact, I liked the 6C so much that I replaced it with the 6S. For me, both DEs shave the same. There might be a slight difference in the feel but not the result. After trying all the plates I settled on R3 for passes 1 & 2 and R1 for pass 3 and pickups when I shave every day. I have used R5 when I had 2-3 days of growth to test the efficiency. I have not found a DE to make me switch from the 6S as my daily driver.
As always, a great shave Paul. I enjoy my Rockwell 6C in the gunmetal chrome finish using the #3 and #4 plates with a Gillette Nacet blade. Always gives a smooth and comfortable shave. Appreciate the effort that you and Mrs. H put into these videos for our enjoyment, thanks.
I bought a Rockwell 6c in rose gold from a shop in Liverpool as they were getting rid of the pink for £32 , absolute bargain , loved today shave mate as my late father used tabac shaving cream with the original Merkur progress and old spice splash , I’m 52 now and use lothur grooming soap and Taylor’s and trumpers but I recently started using reuzel non brush cream and it’s crazy how a thin layer gives me the best shave I’ve ever had Shave of the day Rockwell 6c plates 6-4-2 Soap reuzel Lothur namkha splash Blade , Viking sword
Nicely done Paul🪒💈🪒 Tabac is great IMO, love the scent and performance. Some people are put off by the scent but I liked it from the start. I have the 6C and 6S and find the C to be a bit smoother on the skin, must be the chrome plating. Plates 3/4 are my go to when using either, nice and efficient for my routine. Wonderful display of Roses today, thank you Mrs H. SOTD: PAA Cube, Stirling "Coniferous" soap/witch hazel/splash/balm, Stirling badger brush, REX "Konsul" SS adj. slant razor w/Personna Red blade and "Coniferous" beard oil to finish...Perfect. Grilling burgers and taters(chips on the grill), avocado and green chili dip w/ice cold brew to wash it down... Have a nice Sunday and week ahead, thanks for the cameo of Milly, beautiful little tiger. Enjoy!
It's funny you mentioned the white bowl. I was just looking to try some Tabac (I bought the stick to try, cause it's less than half the price) and in the question section, someone asked what the bowl was made of. Apparently it's made of glass, called Milk Glass, because of the opaque white color.
Hi Paul, What a great shave, and great timing! Thank you for choosing the 6c today. After seeing your shave, I altered my SOTD plan for the day and broke out my 6c, which I hadn't used in a while. I have the Tabac stick, but chose to go with one of my samples to give it a try with the 6c. I've been using the dial up method on my Progress and wanted to try something similar with the 6c. I usually stick with the same plate for the entire shave, or sometimes plate down like you do. Preshave oil-Alonzo's; WTG/XTG plate 2 and flipped it to use #4 for ATG and pickups with a 7 o'clock black on 2nd use; Wholly Kaw Fougère Mania (Siero base) face lathered with a RazoRock Plissoft; splashed/balmed up with the closest scent in my den- B&M Seville. Post shave feeling was great! The dial up/plate up method is counterintuitive, but works great for me. Have a great week!
Hello Paul great shave this morning. The flowers are beautiful. I'm also a big fan of the Rockwell 6C. I just ordered my first Tabac product. Can't wait to try it out. SOTD for me. Southern Witchcrafts Camilla shaving soap and aftershave splash. Wild West Brush Works White Pearl 24mm Timber Wolf synthetic knot. Rockwell 6c with a Gillette Platinum blade 3 use. We have had the same run of multi weather days here too. We started with beautiful sunny days and 5 days later we have snow again. I enjoy all your videos I never think they are too long. Take care
R3 is my go-to daily shave, and in the 6s, which is a beautiful weight. Linda and I are becoming 'experts' with the MOTD😂 We scored a 10/10 and were particularly happy guessing the veg in the right order! Tabac : A Christmas present from someone when I was still at primary school 😁
No shave of the day for me because I'm growing out my beard, but I wanted to say that I love Tabac, and when I want a "classy shave", I pair Tabac soap with Irisch Moos aftershave, and that has me feeling on top of the world.
Good mornin. Very nice flowers Mrs H. You always get me with cat content. I'm a cat dad too (2 cats, brother and sister, 14 years old), so you always get me when you show your cats. Tabbac was an old man smell. If you where over 40 then it was ok to use it, if you where not that old you needed a strong personality to justify that smell of knowledged men. Nowadays it is used by a lot of young men in their 20s. Times are changing. Yes the Maurer part in Maurer & Wirtz is a bit hard for non german speakers. The au is like the ou in our. Its a lot easier to remember than words like Mühle or Böker where the Umlauts have no equivalent in the english language. To be fair: Lots of germans have problems with spelling the TH correctly. SOTD: Fatip Lo Storto Originale, Derby Usta, Simpson T3, Reuzel Shaving creme (I wonder why no UA-camr tests this dutch shaving creme. has a nice smell, but the preparation is a bit weird. You best smear a small amount in your face and brush it up with a wet brush. Not very slick, but it erects your beard. After two passes its nearly like you done 3 passes. After 3 passes you definitely dont need pickups. If you are in a hurry, then there is nothing better than this stuff), Dickinson Rosewater Witch Hazel, PAA Cavendish and some Glysolid. MOTD: some asian style teriyaki marinated tofu and mushrooms with rice. Not sure how it will turn out.😀
Love the smoothness of the Rockwell. Although efficient on plate 6 I don't find it to be aggressive in any pass. Tabac is one of my top 3 soaps for sure. A fantastic scent IMO, creamy and slick. Mrs. H flower display is, well, a work of art. Beautiful! Saying hello to Milly as well. Sweet cat!
A belated Happy Sunday Paul! Please tell Mrs. H her roses are gorgeous! Thank you!! I am very sorry for not leaving comments on your channels. I am well and I do watch the videos in bits and pieces...this is necessary due to a wee job I am doing and keeping inhuman hours lately. My shaves are much the same as before, but I must shave daily, so I am using the Gillette Heritage or King C Gillette razors. Recent shave soap purchase was Stirling Creamy Coconut and I have used that almost exclusively for two weeks. I think the scent is much better than TOBS Coconut. You should get a sample...you won't be disappointed. Keep making your high quality videos, you bring so much joy. Take care my friend. Cheers.
As we age our scent preferences mature and we tend to enjoy the older classic style frags more. Ahh ...Tabac ... a great soap, for me its performance competes well against the top modern Artisan bases and has a unique scent. You got to love the RockWell 6c/s, almost a must have in any DE shavers collection, I normally shave in the 2 to 4 plate range. Mrs.H did another beautiful floral display.👍😎👌
Your kitty is so beautiful! 🐱😊 what a sweetheart, my cat does the same thing anytime I’m in the bathroom shaving he’ll paw at the door until I let him in to join me lol
Beautiful display by Mrs H, and some great choices for your Sunday shave Paul!!! My Sunday SOTD will be the Razorock Gamechanger.68 with a Wizamet blade, Simpson Chubby 2 Badger Brush, PAA Cube 2.0, The Holy Black Tangerine Creeper Soap and Aftershave, with some L’Oréal Men Expert Birch Sap Balm to finish the shave. Meal of the day will be some Smoked Salmon with some street corn, grilled asparagus, chopped salad, and wild rice. Have a wonderful day and stay safe!!!
Nice one Paul, Tabac soap always delivers a great smooth shave and has a lovely distinct aroma. Regularly used in my own rotation. SOTD went all fancy today being a Sunday and what have you - Prep pre-shave followed by Floris 89 soap and Muhle brush, aftershave and balm using my Q3 1971 Black Beauty (setting 5, 2 pass). MOTD will be asparagus and courgette risotto with a side of garlic bread. Have a great day!
Hey Paul. You make the use of all your razors look easy. The only adjustable razors I have are the Fatboy and Slim Gillette. I often set them on 6 and don’t change the settings. I shave daily not because I have to but because I like to. Thumbs up 👍 to Mrs H. Enjoy your day.
Hi Paul! Always love seeing you use Tabac. MOTD (dinner) will be black bean burgers with tomato, onion, jalapeño, and sweet potato fries and a salad on the side.
SOTD: Rockwell 6C, plate R4, Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood, cheap Van der Hagen boar brush, Old Spice Classic aftershave lotion. MOTD: Old fashioned chicken soup, multigrain wheat bread with butter, Earl Greyer tea.
Looked like a fabulous shave 🪒 Paul! My father had Tabac products! Hope you are doing well and staying safe and sound there! I'm doing well and dodging the virus 🦠 still🙂 Mrs. H's flowers are always spectacular!👌
Nice shave Paul and flowers Mrs. H💐! I have a 6s and it's one of my favorite razors in the den 😎👍SOTD: Stirling Noir soap, splash, and balm, and the 1912 GEM razor with a Personna GEM blade. Have a good one! Steve

Great Shave Paul, Good razor the Rockwell 6C i have heard my self that the 6s shaves differently due too it being stainless steel and with a matt finish some prefer the 6C to the 6S, i have the 6c so saw no point in buying a 6S, great soap tabac not sure of the new formula but i wont know until i try it i have the tallow base but it does not bother me tallow or vegan base i tried a few vegan bases and they have all worked out well and good slickness take care and have a great week 🙂
Bore da Paul. The 6s is my favourite modern razor. I only use it on number 5 for all passes. My SOTD is my Ralf Aust 6/8 round point. Trying to master it. Pre shave oil. Mitchells wool fat soap. Yaqi Mokka synthetic brush. Thayers lavender. Gummy lavender aftershave. Nivea balm. Hope that you and Mrs. H and the girls enjoy the rest of the weekend. 🏴👍
Do you apply the aftershave directly on to the skin or do you have to put a cream on before? It's gonna be my first time using tabac and aftershave tomorrow.
I wish you a nice Sunday morning Paul. I appreciate this video very much. I can only confirm that about Tabac's shaving soap. Simply class and the gliding properties are top class. I've made a selection of possible next shaves. One of them was the 6C. And yes, he was my favorite, but today's video from you. Made my decision easier. It will be the 6C. My shave of the day my beginner razor K.C.G., as pre shave K.C.G balm, Tabac shaving soap, aftershave STR8 Faith, Proraso Sensetive balm and Dove High hydrating cream.
Hi Paul, greetings from Texas! Yesterday's shave had some similarities to your own. I used the Tabac soap with a Simpson's Chubby 2, Super Badger brush. Gillette gold tone Tech razor (no date, just old) with a Wilkinson Sword blade; 3 passes plus the inevitable pickups. Gentleman Jon Alum and Dr Teals Eucalyptus witch hazel. Tabac after shave lotion and Tabac after shave balm. BBS!
Nice shave. Still remember the first time I ate pork crackling's with my Dad while he carved the meat. Mrs. Z and my daughter love your cat very beautiful. We have a little female tabby. Good day.
Good morning Paul, beautiful flowers by Mrs H as always 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹The weather over here is as mad as yours. Woke up two days ago and our yard was a Winterwunderland. We have a saying "April April does what it wants" the snow is gone but still kind of frosty. Sotd, Gillette Tech, diy soap Wintergreen Menthol, boar brush and some Lucky Tiger Aspen. Motd Pulled pork out of the Dutch oven, some coleslaw and homemade Burger bums. Have a great day and stay safe 🪒💈
Paul your meal of the day sounds absolutely stunning!!! 😋 can I come to your house for tea? lol I adore your channel, your videos are so relaxing and calming 😊 Shaved with my 1959 FATBOY today and some shave oil with a dollop of Gillette foam, didn’t feel like using a brush today I’m too lazy lol
i dont think i´d be patient enough to own a Razor where i needed to change heads when adjusting my razor then again i own a few adjustable razors rarely go beyond 2 so dont really need one hmmm Tabac i should use that today as well also in the shower, got all kinds of Tabac products, great shave and video fun stuff, stay sage....cheers...Peter
Yeah, the way I use the Rockwell is that I change the plates depending on how often I shave. Normally, I have to shave every other day, so plate 3 is my go to. When I need to shave every day for some reason or another, I switch to plate 2. Sometimes, when I don't have time and don't shave for a week, I use plate 5. But mid shave change, no 🙈
Tabac is good stuff, but it took me a while to be able to smell the tobacco scent in it. Also, I have the version of that razor which has only one base plate, with R 3 and R 1 settings I think.
Morning Paul. I can use only plates 4-3-2 on my 6C and 6S. Plate 4 first pass, plate 3 for across and against the grow and plate 2 for "pick time baby!!!" 😆 Nice shave, have a nice sunday. 👌💈
Good morning Paul.👋🍵😊 A thank you to Mrs.H. for the wonderful display🥀🌺🌻😍👌. Tabac's soap is a classic💈☺. Good gliding properties and an old school scent💈😍.Have a great sunday and stay save👍.Greetings from germany🇩🇪☺
Hi Paul I find the Rockwell to be an excellent razor. Tabac used to be a favourite of mine until they changed the formula which I think is total rubbish know where near as good as the original. Don’t be fooled by the word original I bought 2 and will not be buying anymore. Original should mean what it says and the new formula should not be sold as original as it is misleading and should be sold as the new formula so you know what you are buying. Enough of my rant great video. Keep well and keep safe.
I consider Tabac as more of an old woman scent than old man scent. I couldn't stand it when I first got it. However, it's grown on me; I don't love the scent, but it's OK.

Great shave Andrew, I nearly used Mitchells today myself, another great soap. Have a great Sunday, all the best :-)
Thank you Robert, great shaving soap isn't it. Hope you enjoy your shave, some nice products :-)
BBS!
I won't be at work today.
Why not?
I'm pretending to have done in my neck again and showing you this video with shaving cream on!
😄
Nice shave. Still remember the first time I ate pork crackling's with my Dad while he carved the meat. Mrs. Z and my daughter love your cat very beautiful. We have a little female tabby. Good day.
greetings from romania! a fan! dragos
hi Paul happy Sunday. The Merkur Futur is much easier in my opinion, soon i`ll for a shover and Futur/Tabac shave myselves. Have a nice afternoon
Fantastic shave as always, Paul: for me on the Rockwell 6C; 4, 3, 2...1 just doesn't cut it. Must try Tabac...I've always wondered!
Good morning Michael, nice SOTD, and the meal is right up my street, hope you enjoy, take care :-) Thanks.
But mid shave change, no 🙈
not fond of fiddling whith thing during a shave, especially changing gaurds. regards dapper shaves
Many thanks, have a great Sunday :-)
"I don't know who writes this rubbish" LOL Great shaves a laughs, Thank you.

You love it or you hate it.
i LOVE it. the soap is incredible and the benchmark for everything else. regards dapper shaves
Pretty Kitty!
R5 for me Paul.
Don't know why people bitch about changing plates it literally takes 20 seconds plate#6 then plate#4 5 days growth yesterday Job done !!!! 👍 Beautiful cat 🐈👍
I don't mind the plate system either, and many thanks :-)
lovely cat, i allso got two, mother and daughter.
Nice 😉💈🔥
Dear Lord. How many shaving brushes do you have.
First wash your face with baby soap. Removing oil is only possible with normal soap. After that any foam is good. 2x, 10 min apart.
❤️❤️❤️
Never liked Jovan Musk. Don’t think much of his brother Elon, either.
Ha ha!
