I'm wondering if Denis could get snubbed and Berger ends up being the "blockbuster"/big named director that gets in instead - they snubbed him once, they can snub him again. The directors branch has proven they dgaf about big names and big-budget movies as evidenced by Gerwig's snub. Audiard could also miss like they snubbed Baz Luhrmann for Elvis since the reception has been similar. Nickel Boys is more polarizing than Zone of Interest but I think Ramell Ross' POV direction is up the directors' branch's alley so I still have him in as the Glazer of the group.

Denis Villenueve would seem the safe choice. I can't believe in Ridley Scott or Steve McQueen, though I think Blitz is a better movie than Conclave.
My Brian
I'm wondering if Denis could get snubbed and Berger ends up being the "blockbuster"/big named director that gets in instead - they snubbed him once, they can snub him again. The directors branch has proven they dgaf about big names and big-budget movies as evidenced by Gerwig's snub.
Audiard could also miss like they snubbed Baz Luhrmann for Elvis since the reception has been similar.
Nickel Boys is more polarizing than Zone of Interest but I think Ramell Ross' POV direction is up the directors' branch's alley so I still have him in as the Glazer of the group.
Hundreds of Beavers should be a contender
AHhhhhh Dune pt. 2 is THE BEST FILM OF 2024😮😮
No Doubt About That !!!
I think Denis Villeneuve's position is safer than Edward Berger. He is definitely going to get in, and rightfully so.
Shouldn’t brazilian Walter Salles be considered for the astounding I’m Still Here?
In a perfect world yes, but the director of Emilia Perez or Coralie, have more chances than him on this race.
For actress maybe, I'm Still Here doesn't do anything (technically or on narrative) that hasn't been made a thousand times before.
If Conclave got in but Villeneuve didnt get in for Dune 2 i'd be so sad about it
Maybe Walter Salles for I'm Still Here
1:41 Not to mention, Brady Corbet's previous film, Vox Lux, was not well-received. I personally defend that movie and find it to be highly underrated. I am excited to see what he does next, but yeah he's not a well recognized director just yet. It would be nice to see a not so well-known director win, but like what I said in another comment, I'm voting for Sean Baker.
I think Walter Salles should have been in this video. You had an internacional section and not put central station and Motorcycle diaries' director feels weird
I have the feeling that Conclave will win Best Picture lol
I feel like The Brutalist will win Best Picture, but that Baker will win Best Director. Haven't seen Brutalist yet though
This would not make any sense. Brutalist is absolutely not the kind of film that would win P without D, and Anora is absolutely not the kind of film that would win D without P.
Jon M Chu😊
Brady Corbet will win for best director in "The Brutalist".
Remember when we were putting joker 2 in our predictions. Lol
Now this film gonna get razzies.
Lady gaga fams are in shamble.
In January there were people predicting Megalopolis for everything.
With dune part 2 coming out in March I need to remind everyone everything everywhere all at once came out in March the year before it won
I could see seed of the sacred fog getting a director nom based on the academy standing behind the director
This year has 2 strong females so is it all we imagine as light or the substance in director
If they don’t nominate Denis I’m gonna spit chips!!!
There's so much hype around wicked, im surprised.
Where did all this hype come from
I thought the movie was gonna be like wonka, a nice kids movie with bright colours
Thats what it is
I do not believe you at least mention Walter Salles.
Theresa Teng the songstress of the Gar East again
Her first foray into the Japanese market was the song Goodbye My Love which translated into several other language versions most notably Mandarin.
Here is a video showing her sing the Mandarin version in Hong Kong.
Her voice can literally lull you to sleep.

This is the studio recorded version.

Nickle boys= zone of interest
It will get in for director, sound, picture, cinematography
Personally I’m predicting
1. Brady Corbet
2. Sean Baker
3. Denis Villeneuve
4. Edward Berger
5. RaMell Ross
HM
Coralie Fargeat
Jacques Audiard
Robert Eggers
Dennis Getting snob again, this was unfair.
I don’t think he will.
I have this weird feeling that Baker will indeed get snubbed a la Affleck for Argo. And I think Emilia will be seriously snubbed too. Would die of happiness if Coralie gets in.
Have the people that are putting Wicked in BP winner have actually seen Wicked? Lmao
John m chu please
Pretty confident Best Director is either gonna be Sean Baker for Anora or Brady Corbet for The Brutalist, no one else is even close
Man Emília Pérez Sucked! Does not deserve the hype or the awards, sure a few songs are good.., Zoe kills on her roll. But everything is so bad, spits absurd putting this director here!
Totally agree with you! The only thing I liked was the Mi Camino song by Gomez 😅.
I think it's amazing. Timeless and timely, creative and unique film. It's cinema 👌🏼
I am with you on this.
Granted, Zoe Saldana was good, but that's it. The rest, I don't get the hype.
That film is a bigger mess when you’re Mexican. Like Rodrigo Prieto said the film has almost zero Mexican influence and it’s just exploitative.
I loved it. It’s unique film making. I’m all for Brady Corbett. I liked his other work!!
God I forgot about dune part 2
My five are
1. Sean baker
2. Brady Corbett
3. Dennis Villanueva
4. John m chu
5. Jacque ardeuard
Here are my picks:
Sean Baker - Anora
Brady Corbet - The Brutalist
Edward Berger - Conclave
Dennis Villeneuve - Dune Part 2
Jacques Audiard - Emilia Perez
abcde lmao lmao funny funny lol
All men? Not happening.
A woman must get it
watched blitz last night .... ughhhhh it dissapoints.
You haveSean Connery in the West.
In the East you have Ti Lung.
One of the movies you saw if him was The Magic Blade.
A video that runs through his shows. There is a poster in English before each show.

Dune 2 is masterpiece . Period. No better movie this year .
I concur
This year 2024 is Saturn"s year 2034 the digits adding up to 8.
Saturn is about even the smallest of things can give you comfort and grow into something big.
Which is a niekel.
Just like our faiti in religion just need to be a size of a mustard seed.
I think that the enthusiasm for Emilia Pérez will cool down and it will not reach the nominations so strongly. I see it nominated for best film and supporting actress and songs, but I don't think it will be nominated in director and actress
So… Francis Ford Coppola gets snubbed :)
No shit
It is not a snub when he made a bloated operatic mess.
0:41 In Singapore the day is very hot and the heat of the Sun is coming closer to dawn time
More heat means the water cycle has a higher frequency do we also get rain more often.
There will come a time when he Earth s rite ietenve area f the Sin and 4 be er ody will experience 24 hours Sun and no rain.
Here's my take. I think everyone is overestimating Edward Berger's chances. I think Conclave will do well, but I feel like he is going to miss. I think the Wicked hype is high. I predict that is going to get more nominations than anyone is expecting, and we are not going to see Berger there. We are going to see John Chu instead. That's not a personal pick by the way. I would rather see Fargeat or Eggers personally, but I think that's what's going to happen.
Nah, Chu's work in Wicked is very pedestrian, almost generic. Barbie had bigger hype and it was MUCH better directed, way more creative (and Greta Gerwig was also nominated for Ladybird, Academy obviously loves her) and it still didn't get the best director nom.
@@ZlatanHu. maybe, I just have a feeling if it gets in a ton of places, they may recognize him too.
Gladiator II is not good. No way Ridley Scott should be nominated for that.
