Hi Lynn - I would definitely ask the garage justify keeping your car for so long especially as the damage was superficial. You could have kept it until they were ready to repair it. Definitely check the fuel pity you didn't note the mileage. Hope you get far back soon❤
I got it back Norma, 13 days the had it, mileage was about right, and petrol, but they haven’t made a perfect job of it really, I just don’t feel like giving it back to them again. 🌹❤️🌹

We had a similar problem. Curtesy car for weeks as parts were not available. It’s really frustrating. Wore my Tesco green Jean/trousers yesterday. My friend was well impressed with the quality and wants us to go to Tesco to shop for clothes. Just wish it was available online. X❤

My friend had her car in the garage, through insurance, and she got a speeding ticket through for a day while it was in the garage! And from a road 50 miles away! They'd driven up to Edinburgh in her car! Advised to take a note of the mileage if having to use a garage unknown to you x

I understand your frustration where your car is concerned and I agree its outrageous. Hope the petrol is as you left it. I used to make yoghurt too but a long time ago. I used to start with a bought one but a desert spoon of that made the next and so on for quite a number of them. Enjoyed your video take care 😊

Hi Lynn, I always separate my sausages and bacon into 2s in a zip bag and freeze them, that way you only use what you need. Thank you for going down your list for the prices instead of trying to find the price. I'm with you on insurance prices, I've always said keep the price low then if you have to claim because of an accident then put the price up. Take care 😊

We took a video of the hire car too. Best to be safe, we only had our car 3 weeks so we kinda knew what the mileage should be near enough. But if ever it has to go in again, I wlll definitely take photos. Hi lyn insurance is so expensive i had a crash in the back of my smart car i used to have when i went to get it it was a different colour grey at the back the badge on the front was on off centre and a scratch on the bonnet that wasnt there when i gave it to them i was hit in the back not thr front so i was fuming i said you sort this lot out for me but wondered if it was a scam to get more money ❤
Hi Lynn. My daughter works for an insurance coy. She says its diabolical - people having car hire for months sometimes as garages cannot get spare parts. Our alternator went on a wobble in January. The garage said they would order a new one & contact us when it arrives. That was 6 MONTHS ago!!! Still waiting for it, meanwhile several bits are not working properly even though the battery is being charged. So we cant sell the car; we havent got proper air con (thank god its not been hot); cant use cruise control & dont have correct tyre pressure warnings! Every time we use it we wonder what else is going to put a warning light on the dash. Sorry rant over!! O my days its awful. TTFN xx

This week we made enquiries about some work we wanted doing in our garden. We approached a local company who use the new resin, which we thought we'd like... but before he even looked at our photo he said they didn't do anything under £3,000! Meaning ( I thought), if you only have a small garden it won't be worth my while doing the work... well that's the impression I got. So we went with a local builder instead, he works for himself and will do a great job.... no resin though, block paving and flags. I'll just be happy to get the garden finished! 😂 xxx
Oh it’s ridiculous Mary, we got quoted £9000 for a resin drive, so we ended up having it tarmac, and it’s ok, but not the best job in the world, uneven, and got brown patches on it, they said it’ll go when the sun shines on it for a bit, never heard anything like it in my life, standards have dropped so low nowadays. 🌹❤️🌹

A similar thing happened to me a few months ago, someone scratched my car, my car is a medium size car, we asked the hire company for a small car., and we phoned them twice to stipulate this, when my husband went to pick it up it was a big estate car. Well i wouldnt drive it and over the nest two weeks while waiting for my car to be ready we phoned the hire company numerous times to ask them for a smaller car and to tell them i wont drive the one they gave us. They kept telling us they would get one for the next day only to then ring and say they couldnt get one. We even asked them to take the estate back no they wouldnt do that either. I had my car back just after two weeks. Beggers belief Lynn .the cost of the car that i wouldnt drive and they wouldnt take back was a complete waste xx❤️❤️❤️

Hi Lynn, my car was hit by a delivery driver at Xmas, rushing he failed to put his hand brake on enough and it rolled down and hit the back of my car. The delivery company arranged for my car to be collected and repaired. It shunted my car into our electric bi-sectional garage door causing a tea cup size dent. It would have costed £3,500 for a new door. The delivery company settled on £1,500, nice Xmas present for us. I can’t hardly see the dent. At the time it felt like someone was sticking pins in me.

Unbelievable how a garage can take almost two weeks to Spain your car, it has probably lay there until they got around to it. I would definitely check your mileage or your petrol gauge. By the way , I so wish I had listened to your warning about the shingles vaccine......just been on holiday and brought back a great souvenir, the shingles !!! I don't think mine's as bad as yours was I don't have to endure the pain of wearing clothes as mine's on my scalp ,forehead around my eye and on my nose haha !

Lynn my sons car was hit by a delivery van outside his house,not badly but a lot of scratches at the rear. He reported it to his insurance company and like you it went in for repair. He to got a car whilst his was being repaired from his insurance company,a very nice new one. Happy days 1 week,2 weeks 4 weeks 8 weeks went by still his car wasn't done in the end it was about two and a half months before he got his car back. All that money the insurance company must have paid out for the car hire company unbelievable.
Loved your rant, it’s a disgrace how long they took to repair your car. Insurance companies are so lax these days one of my best friends daughter had a fire in her home which gutted the bedrooms and the kitchen so she was homeless they got her a static caravan to live in this was January 2023 the insurance company did not protect what was left of the building so it has had to be demolished and she finally got paid out 2 weeks ago nearly 16 months of living in rented accommodation paid for by the insurance company. Total incompetent loss adjusters and surveyors working on behalf of the insurance company. Love the jeans hope they still have some at the reduced rate in my size tomorrow. 🤗💕

Lynn no wonder insurance costs so much. Some people couldn’t arrange a P up in a brewery. All it takes is a bit of common sense. Bourbon biscuits. My youngest used to love them but now won’t touch them. It’s funny how attitudes change. He won’t go anywhere near butter he’s got a phobia if his plate is near it he’s in a flat panic. Hi Lynn, insurance is disgusting. In April I had a shock when my car insurance reminder came, and increase of almost £285, approx 42%. Then in May, my household insurance increased by almost £86 approx 39%. They have you, because it's something you have to have. Just beyond words. That's my moan 😂😂. I get my Jeans from Bon Marche, and I love them, do them in numerous colours and lengths 25,27,29 and 31". I get the 31" and have many colours😂😂. Take care, love Jean ❤❤xx

Hi my beautiful Lynn, What a crock about the car. That poor old man will never be able to afford ins. after all this. It matters little to the garage or the ins. because they are going to get their money regardless, it's the poor old man who will end up paying dearly. Such a shame. It is nice that you get some good bargains at the grocery store though with your members card. The prices there are not bad at all. The groceries here are so very expensive. I don't know how families with lots of children manage. I complain every time I have to buy groceries of how expensive everything is, and it's just me and hubby. And we are not big eaters. Although my hubby is big on snacking at night. He sits and watches TV and snacks the whole time. And I know he's not hungry, just a habit more than anything. And yet his weight stays the same. If I did that, do you know how fast I would put the weight on??? Pretty quickly for sure. I think it's great that you are still making your own yogurt and eating it every morning. It's such a tasty and healthy first meal of the day. I bet it keeps you full for longer. It's such a great way to start your day off. Did you know, you can also cook it in the slow cooker overnight? So glad you had such a lovely weekend with the baby. I bet you are worn out for sure. But a good exhaustion, just the same. What an awesome grandmother you are. I bet they were able to get loads more done without having the baby to worry about. My hand is doing so much better. I just wear gloves when I have to put my hands in water for something. Yes, I did tell hubby, I'll just use the scissors instead from now on. 🤣🤣🤣 Today I plan on cleaning out the fridge and freezer. It has been nothing but thunderstorms every single day this past week. And today is no exception. I think we are going to get a break tomorrow from it. Hubby has to go and get blood work done tomorrow, so I hope the weather cooperates. I'd like to mop the floors but with all the rain and high humidity, it would take forever for the floor to dry and, then, there would be little kitty footprints all over the floor. Those jeans do fit you very nicely. It's hard for me to find jeans that fit both in waist and hips. It's because my waist isn't much smaller than my hips, so if I get them to fit my hips, they are too small in the waist. And if they fit my waist, then they are too big in the hips. So stretchy yoga pants work better for me, or just plain simple dresses. I hope I can get out tomorrow, after hubby gets home, to do some errands that I need to get done. I'm still waiting on my gift card and still praying that the work all gets done before August. Well, my darling Lynn, I'm off to clean out the fridge while I have the bedding in the washing machine. Hello my beautiful friend, yes the car saga is ridiculous, but we got it back now, so at least it’s home again. No I doubt anyone will insure him ever again. It makes a difference having the club card, every week there are offers on so it’s well worth getting one, and then they send me coupons as well, and money off, and you can turn your points into money to take it off your bill at the checkout, I’m sure you have the same in your supermarkets. Snacking is my problem at night, I really have to dig deep not to do it, but sometimes I cave in. I imagine if your hubby can’t be very active due to health issues, he probably thinks about food more than he would if he was up and about keeping busy. I would eat more if I thought I could get away with it, but like you, I only need to look at food and I put weight on ahaha. Oh I’m so happy that I learned how to make the yoghurt, I use the microwave technique all the time now, I made a batch last night, it’s still sitting in the oven incubating, in fact it’s time to get it out, and put it in the fridge. Yes I did know about the slow cooker, I’ve made it in my cosori… oh I had the best time with her, she’s such good company, she’s a proper little girl, loves her Dollie’s, anything pink and Barbie, she’ll play for hours looking after those babies. I could listen to her talking to them all day. Yes they got straight more or less, just a few bits to sort out, and my hubby went to put the blinds up for them my son was building flat pack furniture, it was all going on 🤦🏼♀️❤️ I’m so glad that your hand is on the mend, it’s debilitating when you can’t use one of your hands, I’m in awe when I see people with no hands, how they adapted to using their feet to pick things up etc, I’m amazed. You’ll be happy when it’s back to good working order my love, and NO more guillotine 🤦🏼♀️ scissors all the way lol. We have some sun at last, I don’t know for how long, but we had a really sunny day yesterday. Wow, thunderstorms, I don’t like them at all. Aw little kitty paws, aren’t they just darling. The jeans are very stretchy, so I’m so glad I found them, that why I bought another pair. I can imagine that it’s hard for you to get them to fit, but the yoga pants sound ideal, and I imagine so comfy. Hopefully the weather will calm down so that you can do your bit and bobs, errands and shopping etc. it’s not fun in the rain, is it ❤️ Fingers crossed you hubbys blood work comes back all ok, that will be a relief. Hi Lynn - I would definitely ask the garage justify keeping your car for so long especially as the damage was superficial. You could have kept it until they were ready to repair it. Definitely check the fuel pity you didn't note the mileage. Hope you get far back soon❤

We had a similar problem. Curtesy car for weeks as parts were not available. It’s really frustrating. Wore my Tesco green Jean/trousers yesterday. My friend was well impressed with the quality and wants us to go to Tesco to shop for clothes. Just wish it was available online. X❤

My friend had her car in the garage, through insurance, and she got a speeding ticket through for a day while it was in the garage! And from a road 50 miles away! They'd driven up to Edinburgh in her car! Advised to take a note of the mileage if having to use a garage unknown to you x

I understand your frustration where your car is concerned and I agree its outrageous. Hope the petrol is as you left it. I used to make yoghurt too but a long time ago. I used to start with a bought one but a desert spoon of that made the next and so on for quite a number of them. Enjoyed your video take care 😊

Thank you for going down your list for the prices instead of trying to find the price. I'm with you on insurance prices, I've always said keep the price low then if you have to claim because of an accident then put the price up. Take care 😊

We took a video of the hire car too. Best to be safe, we only had our car 3 weeks so we kinda knew what the mileage should be near enough. But if ever it has to go in again, I wlll definitely take photos. Someone on here just told me that when her friends car went in, she got a speeding ticket through, and the garage had driven it to Edinburgh and back, unbelievable what goes on in this country… ❤️🌹❤️

Thing is there is no urgency anymore for the customer .. they don’t care that the cost is going on his insurance because to them ( the garage ) that’s what your insurance is for … it’s at their convenience, no rush. Insurance is insane these days but they have you over a barrel cuz you’ve got to pay it….

Hi lyn insurance is so expensive i had a crash in the back of my smart car i used to have when i went to get it it was a different colour grey at the back the badge on the front was on off centre and a scratch on the bonnet that wasnt there when i gave it to them i was hit in the back not thr front so i was fuming i said you sort this lot out for me but wondered if it was a scam to get more money ❤

Hi Lynn. My daughter works for an insurance coy. She says its diabolical - people having car hire for months sometimes as garages cannot get spare parts.
Our alternator went on a wobble in January. The garage said they would order a new one & contact us when it arrives.
That was 6 MONTHS ago!!! Still waiting for it, meanwhile several bits are not working properly even though the battery is being charged. So we cant sell the car; we havent got proper air con (thank god its not been hot); cant use cruise control & dont have correct tyre pressure warnings! Every time we use it we wonder what else is going to put a warning light on the dash.

This week we made enquiries about some work we wanted doing in our garden. We approached a local company who use the new resin, which we thought we'd like... but before he even looked at our photo he said they didn't do anything under £3,000! Meaning ( I thought), if you only have a small garden it won't be worth my while doing the work... well that's the impression I got. So we went with a local builder instead, he works for himself and will do a great job.... no resin though, block paving and flags. I'll just be happy to get the garden finished! 😂 xxx

A similar thing happened to me a few months ago, someone scratched my car, my car is a medium size car, we asked the hire company for a small car., and we phoned them twice to stipulate this, when my husband went to pick it up it was a big estate car. Well i wouldnt drive it and over the nest two weeks while waiting for my car to be ready we phoned the hire company numerous times to ask them for a smaller car and to tell them i wont drive the one they gave us. They kept telling us they would get one for the next day only to then ring and say they couldnt get one. We even asked them to take the estate back no they wouldnt do that either. I had my car back just after two weeks. Beggers belief Lynn .the cost of the car that i wouldnt drive and they wouldnt take back was a complete waste xx❤️❤️❤️

Hi Lynn, my car was hit by a delivery driver at Xmas, rushing he failed to put his hand brake on enough and it rolled down and hit the back of my car. The delivery company arranged for my car to be collected and repaired. It shunted my car into our electric bi-sectional garage door causing a tea cup size dent. It would have costed £3,500 for a new door. The delivery company settled on £1,500, nice Xmas present for us. I can’t hardly see the dent. At the time it felt like someone was sticking pins in me.

Lynn my sons car was hit by a delivery van outside his house,not badly but a lot of scratches at the rear. He reported it to his insurance company and like you it went in for repair. He to got a car whilst his was being repaired from his insurance company,a very nice new one. Happy days 1 week,2 weeks 4 weeks 8 weeks went by still his car wasn't done in the end it was about two and a half months before he got his car back. All that money the insurance company must have paid out for the car hire company unbelievable.

Loved your rant, it’s a disgrace how long they took to repair your car. Insurance companies are so lax these days one of my best friends daughter had a fire in her home which gutted the bedrooms and the kitchen so she was homeless they got her a static caravan to live in this was January 2023 the insurance company did not protect what was left of the building so it has had to be demolished and she finally got paid out 2 weeks ago nearly 16 months of living in rented accommodation paid for by the insurance company. Total incompetent loss adjusters and surveyors working on behalf of the insurance company.

Lynn no wonder insurance costs so much. Some people couldn’t arrange a P up in a brewery. All it takes is a bit of common sense. Bourbon biscuits. My youngest used to love them but now won’t touch them. It’s funny how attitudes change. He won’t go anywhere near butter he’s got a phobia if his plate is near it he’s in a flat panic. My oldest is the same about cotton wool. I’m beginning to think there’s insanity in the family 😂😂😂 Mind you it must come from the old man not from me. 😂😂 ❤. I love anyway.
Exactly Pauline. It’s outrageous. These people could never run a household on a budget with a couple of kids to sort out as well. It’s very strange how people develop a habit, or a phobia isn’t it. Hi Lynne it's ridiculous the costs for insurance these days I'm going to rant about holiday insurance both my husband and I are in our seventies with underlying health conditions when you tell the insurance companies the conditions you have the price jumps up to a ridiculous amount more than the holiday?our doctor said I don't understand it your being monitored and looked after a holiday would do us both good love those jeans I buy them ❤

Hi Lynn, insurance is disgusting. In April I had a shock when my car insurance reminder came, and increase of almost £285, approx 42%. Then in May, my household insurance increased by almost £86 approx 39%. They have you, because it's something you have to have. Just beyond words. That's my moan 😂😂. I get my Jeans from Bon Marche, and I love them, do them in numerous colours and lengths 25,27,29 and 31". I get the 31" and have many colours😂😂. Take care, love Jean ❤❤xx

Hi my beautiful Lynn, What a crock about the car. That poor old man will never be able to afford ins. after all this. It matters little to the garage or the ins. because they are going to get their money regardless, it's the poor old man who will end up paying dearly. Such a shame. It is nice that you get some good bargains at the grocery store though with your members card. The prices there are not bad at all. The groceries here are so very expensive. I don't know how families with lots of children manage. I complain every time I have to buy groceries of how expensive everything is, and it's just me and hubby. And we are not big eaters. Although my hubby is big on snacking at night. He sits and watches TV and snacks the whole time. And I know he's not hungry, just a habit more than anything. And yet his weight stays the same. If I did that, do you know how fast I would put the weight on??? Pretty quickly for sure. I think it's great that you are still making your own yogurt and eating it every morning. It's such a tasty and healthy first meal of the day. I bet it keeps you full for longer. It's such a great way to start your day off. Did you know, you can also cook it in the slow cooker overnight? So glad you had such a lovely weekend with the baby. I bet you are worn out for sure. But a good exhaustion, just the same. What an awesome grandmother you are. I bet they were able to get loads more done without having the baby to worry about. My hand is doing so much better. I just wear gloves when I have to put my hands in water for something. Yes, I did tell hubby, I'll just use the scissors instead from now on. 🤣🤣🤣 Today I plan on cleaning out the fridge and freezer. It has been nothing but thunderstorms every single day this past week. And today is no exception. I think we are going to get a break tomorrow from it. Hubby has to go and get blood work done tomorrow, so I hope the weather cooperates. I'd like to mop the floors but with all the rain and high humidity, it would take forever for the floor to dry and, then, there would be little kitty footprints all over the floor. Those jeans do fit you very nicely. It's hard for me to find jeans that fit both in waist and hips. It's because my waist isn't much smaller than my hips, so if I get them to fit my hips, they are too small in the waist. And if they fit my waist, then they are too big in the hips. So stretchy yoga pants work better for me, or just plain simple dresses. I hope I can get out tomorrow, after hubby gets home, to do some errands that I need to get done. I'm still waiting on my gift card and still praying that the work all gets done before August. Well, my darling Lynn, I'm off to clean out the fridge while I have the bedding in the washing machine. Hello my beautiful friend, yes the car saga is ridiculous, but we got it back now, so at least it’s home again. No I doubt anyone will insure him ever again. It makes a difference having the club card, every week there are offers on so it’s well worth getting one, and then they send me coupons as well, and money off, and you can turn your points into money to take it off your bill at the checkout, I’m sure you have the same in your supermarkets. Snacking is my problem at night, I really have to dig deep not to do it, but sometimes I cave in. I imagine if your hubby can’t be very active due to health issues, he probably thinks about food more than he would if he was up and about keeping busy. I would eat more if I thought I could get away with it, but like you, I only need to look at food and I put weight on ahaha. Oh I’m so happy that I learned how to make the yoghurt, I use the microwave technique all the time now, I made a batch last night, it’s still sitting in the oven incubating, in fact it’s time to get it out, and put it in the fridge. Yes I did know about the slow cooker, I’ve made it in my cosori… oh I had the best time with her, she’s such good company, she’s a proper little girl, loves her Dollie’s, anything pink and Barbie, she’ll play for hours looking after those babies. I could listen to her talking to them all day. Yes they got straight more or less, just a few bits to sort out, and my hubby went to put the blinds up for them my son was building flat pack furniture, it was all going on 🤦🏼♀️❤️ I’m so glad that your hand is on the mend, it’s debilitating when you can’t use one of your hands, I’m in awe when I see people with no hands, how they adapted to using their feet to pick things up etc, I’m amazed. You’ll be happy when it’s back to good working order my love, and NO more guillotine 🤦🏼♀️ scissors all the way lol. We have some sun at last, I don’t know for how long, but we had a really sunny day yesterday. Wow, thunderstorms, I don’t like them at all. Aw little kitty paws, aren’t they just darling. The jeans are very stretchy, so I’m so glad I found them, that why I bought another pair. I can imagine that it’s hard for you to get them to fit, but the yoga pants sound ideal, and I imagine so comfy. Hopefully the weather will calm down so that you can do your bit and bobs, errands and shopping etc. it’s not fun in the rain, is it ❤️ Fingers crossed you hubbys blood work comes back all ok, that will be a relief.
