The outstanding English centre-forward of his generation, good in the air, and sumptuous on the deck. From an Evertonian admirer.

I'm a Man Utd fan through and through, 50 years plus, but I always loved watching Peter's brilliant play, he was treated so so unfairly by England.

This guy gave us such delight. He had skill, strength, a sense of fun - and real class on the ball. His partnership with Ian Hutchinson was absolutely awesome. I saw him score at Wembley in the Cup Final, at Old Trafford in the replay, and against Stoke in the League Cup, 1972. - as well as his goals in every round of the FA Cup run 1970. Loved him.

So cool. Peter was always my favorite player down the years - and yes Best, Law Charlton, Greaves and even Pele are my comparisons. Peter just had something magical and different. I just watched and much enjoyed the 3 parts of the interview straight after watching 1970 cup final replay on UA-cam. I was behind the goal when Peter flew through the air to score the equalizer near the end of normal time. It wasn't really a diving header he just seem to fly through the air. My overriding memory of Peter was the way he seemed to glide past players so smoothly and effortlessly. They only player the came close to that was probably Bobby Charlton. The goal that I remember him scoring was I believe against Milan but I never saw it on video. The one that's shown seems something different. Unfortunately his solo goal early in his career before he broke his leg was also never recorded I don't think. In the Milan game, I remember him with his back to the goal being marked by the great German defender Karl-Heinz Schnellinger. Peter feigned to his right and then swiveled to his left and it seemed the whole of the Milan defense lost balance and fell over. As he swiveled, he it a pure right foot shot into the top corner from a good 20 yards out. That was more than 45 years ago and if the memory wasn't 100% accurate then who cares. Peter left us many years ago now but I've never expressed my thanks for the joy I got from watching him. So if this triggers great memories for others then I'd be happy for that.
Simply put put. Peter, thank for your work and the joy it created. A Chelsea fan since 1954.

How gracious of him to say good words about Ramsey who treated him with absolute distane when he was the most prolific goal scorer at the time.

He was a player for the big occasion, amazing that Ramsey left him out

If this man hadn't broken his leg in Oct '66, he'd be regarded as being up there with Bestie. He was that good. He was one of the few who could pick up the ball in his on half & take the whole team on & score.

He was a tremendous Numero 9,with a real bag of tricks at his disposal..He would have been a problem for most defenders?
