Between this and the ANCs it makes me wonder if I should really be using reds anymore. It took a while to build up the large population for the ENCs but wow can they power through some food and bedding!
I have 128 ENCs(Walmart rescues) in a 5gal bucket currently. Will move to a 10 gal Rubbermaid once the population increases to justify the switch. My bedding is different though. Some coir, but mostly shredded cardboard and a bit of torn oak leaves from my backyard. I followed your method of having the bin set up and getting microbes a week before adding worms. Hopefully the population takes off!
