- I was really worried starting this system but the European Nightcrawlers are doing terrific in this small tote. With a lot of the bedding consumed I needed a fresh dose along with a lot of food.

I love the texture of the ENC castings. They are the best.
Between this and the ANCs it makes me wonder if I should really be using reds anymore. It took a while to build up the large population for the ENCs but wow can they power through some food and bedding!
I have 128 ENCs(Walmart rescues) in a 5gal bucket currently. Will move to a 10 gal Rubbermaid once the population increases to justify the switch. My bedding is different though. Some coir, but mostly shredded cardboard and a bit of torn oak leaves from my backyard. I followed your method of having the bin set up and getting microbes a week before adding worms. Hopefully the population takes off!
ENC'S FOR THE WIN...
They are doing an amazing job in this system and I was really worried at first!
i ordered enc's!
Congrats and I hope they work out just as well as they did for me! What type of system do you plan on putting them in?
@@WorldComposting in a tote to begin with and maybe I'll build another 30"x 7' cft bin for them !
