  • How's the Hawk 250 handle a passenger? Magician crash, Honda CRF250 ride on RR tracks. broken spoke, Deleted Recovered video
    Matt, his GF and I go for a cruise into NY and hit the Cell tower and the Train Tracks, The Hawk250 actually handles a passenger well!
    We also do a ton of riding afterwards fill up 2, 64 gb cards, then like an idiot I delete the wrong folder PERMANENTLY. So I paid the $50 from Jihosoft GoPro recovery to get about 5 minutes worth of video back.. Tried Recuva and that did one whole card great, the second card it didn't do anything so I purchased Jihosoft. at least it was some of the highlights, so I put it in at the end of the video... When life gives you lemons..
    Oh yeah, ANOTHER broke, spoke! Thats 3 total. And Blade dumps the Magician. WASTED!
    Added some horror, suspense music, cuz I like it....

    Hey CHEEZY...I love the videos...but ya make me nervous with thexriding attire and no gloves!...say did I tell you about a customer at my shop...who managed to run into back wheel of his buddy. His riding attire was similar to your choice...the road crash on arms was bad but he slid long enuff to grind his nipple off! MAN THAT was ao gnarly!! Almost made me sick seeing it.
    We have choices.. they are personal..you are entitled to manage risk as you see fit...

      Damn. That sucks. I have a few jackets and gloves but really don't like them in summer. Been riding 40 plus years, I've seen a lot too. Just like the open air. I do wear gloves occasionally

    • @michaelmorley331

      I have rules..for myself. No short sleeves...no shorts..always gloves..I have trashed 13 pairs of gloves riding motorcycles...20 years of racing ...20k focal surface riding. My gloves always get torched...once in rain ..I was down on track at bout 60mph...used my hands to "steer" and rotate my body out of harm's way...
      I dont do road rash! 3 years ago a jeep nailed me from right. He was pulling out from right turning left..hit me with his right FRONT fender directly on my right leg. He almost missed me...leg was fucked and subsequently removed below the knee.. ....but no road rash!
      I still ride ...have 7 bikes. Never used rear brake any way. Life is good.
      Oh yeah...preconception of losing a limb would be devestating? Turned out to be wrong. Small.adjustment but not a problem. I still ride my bikes..play sports...etc. walking is,toughest thing I do. Just because the hip on right side needs replacing. Got left done already. I hurt them 40 years ago playing NCAA basketball..
      Any way I used to lead adventures on bikes...while promoting my shop. I wrote about them and used photos to support. Have written over 463 adventure stories.
      What you do...is what I did before go pro andvideography. I really enjoy your world. Thank for sharing.

      I wear full perforated over pants with shorts underneath.the pants have side zippers that go above knee to make em super easy to get on and off.
      My summer jacket is a hi vis yellow full perforated jacket. Very cool and comfortable...feels like at shirt comfort wise but protected.
      Note : any color but black...black is 8 degrees warmer than the other color choices...tested at same time.

    That kid with the passenger is really cool letting that passenger ride with shorts and tennis shoes. Every biker's choice I get that, and I have rode without protective gear when it is just myself, but I never would let a passenger ride in shorts and tennis shoes on a bike. I live 100 miles from Sturgis South Dakota, and I have witnessed some things that would make a lot of biker's green at what can and does happen every year. I was young and dumb once, and I don't care how good you are on a bike there are too many unknowns that will cause the best to go down. I average losing at least one friend every year during the rally. Many crashes aren't the bikers direct fault.

    • @MotoCheez
      @MotoCheez  3 роки тому +1

      I hear you, but pants generally won't save a life. It will save a lot of skin though.
      I've also lost friends to motorcycles and still choose to ride in a tank top and shorts with no gloves. I love the feeling of open air which is why I don't ride bundled when it's colder out. BUT I do choose to wear a helmet! 😁

    Moto cheez...years ago we had a group that rode every sunday. We would meet at my house. Use the power line to get to the good riding areas...went thru the land fill....just had a great time. Much like you do...I used to have 5 bikes. If you did not have one; I would put you in something.
    At first people were grateful and after riding would help me clean and maintain bikes. Then one day...one guy said " mike I had a great time..sorry but gotta get susan for lunch. Ca t stay and clean today..
    The next week THEY all bailed on the post ride clean up /maintance.

    recently inquired my hawk 250, despite everyone saying how bad it is. i found myself quite impressed after going over the bike. Better quality than i was expecting. only problems ive found so far was vibration and my electric system. some odd reason my GAS gauge isnt registering also Neutral light rarely comes on, basically the whole left side of the dash is not working or working correctly. Still need to tune my clutch cable and grease the axil bolts and chain. stock Throttle has play. the metal on my bike seems cheap and welds are as well but not anything dangerous. If i get a couple riding seasons out this bike i got a pretty good deal. i was fortunate on a craigslist find for 1000. but i would defiantly buy another on new of a suppler.

      CSC has an enduro mfg. by Zongshen that is nearly identical to the Hawk that is CARB compliant called the TT250. Better build quality and comes with bits like a good carb. that you would normally swap out. It does cost more, but comes with an actual warranty and arrives fully assembled and ready to ride, unless you live near CSC in Azuza(or somewhere around there off the 210 on Foothill Blvd.) and can ride it home from there. I don't have one, but a few members on chinariders.net from California have them and really like them. I am waiting to see if the BMS enduro (called the CRP 250) really gets CARB certified as it is supposed to be in early 2019. American Lifan's enduro is supposed to finally arrive in the US in March, and will have their 198cc fuel-injected/liquid-cooled engines that are already in their street bikes which will be the proverbial game changer in the Chinese dual sport world. Few choices in California besides the CSC bike and a $3k bike from SSR Motorsports (worth the money as far as new bikes go from a few chinariders members), but the near future is looking brighter.

    Video is extremely "milky" and "fuzzy", is that your video camera, or my internet connection?

      @MotoCheez  6 років тому +1

      It may be your connection. I record at 2.7k and process it at 1080. Should be pretty clear

    Listen unless you can work on any piece of the hawk 250 it's not worth buyin, I bought a 250 hawk may 2017 and had it sold by September 2017 it always had issues, I found myself working on it more than ridin... Save that 1300 and buy a drz 400 s/sm

      @MotoCheez  6 років тому +1

      True, some have more issues than others and they'll have to know how to work on them. Which is why they're so inexpensive.

      You have to watch the Motocheez videos of the Hawk from the beginning as well as become a member of chinariders.net. Many threads on the Hawk to work you through issues.

      You can easily change sprockets on these. They use a 428 chain; if I recall, the rear sprocket bolt pattern is the same as the XL185. The countersprocket is the same as the XR125 and/or 250. It is suggested that you start with the countersprocket because stock is a stump pulling 13 tooth. The ultimate street setup on Chinese enduros is 17/46, but if memory serves me, a 17 might not fit without modifications. 16 might be your limit as far as not having to grind anything. I remember one member on chinariders.net going with a 39 rear. No matter what brand of Chinese enduro you buy, however, the ones equipped with off-road gearing like the Hawk are really harsh at top speed, and if you change the gearing, you might only gain a few mph, but the vibrations are very dramatically reduced.
