Mirage Dagger Build Pressures HARD in Guild Wars 2 WvW/PvP

- Dagger Mirage WvW/PvP. Dagger doesn't do too much on a mesmer without the Virtuoso traits, however as a Mirage you gain access to a new ambush skill which dazes and applies conditions. When combined with Infinite Horizon and many interrupt traits, this can output heavy pressure that condition mirages did not have as much access to before.

Great description, good info. Wish I could see the enemies better. As the leader of WWJD I'd love to give whichever of my guys/gals you were fighting a pat on the back. They did a great job!
I've found scepter shield is a decent alternative to sword torch as the other weapon set. Far too many times while roaming I'm up against someone else that has as much or more mobility and having the ability to not only triple block with scepter 2 and shield 4, but the confusion spam on scepter 3, along with an additional stun on shield 5 helps deal with things like willbenders and thieves.

Also having issues with Willbenders. So it goes. I adapted Shield onto the sword weapon swap, but the AOE spam is so heavy to try and kite with them, mobility on sword feels necessary. Might try scepter now.
Willbenders needs a mobility nerf, it’s too much right now, they can just kite away at will or keep on someone and there’s not much you can do about it

great video, am curious about one thing tho. Why not daze mantra with a build focused around interrupts?
because you also get interrupts by using illusionary ambush, because it ambushes and therefore dazes
No amount of stability can deal with the amount of cc this build dishes out. I was running cele catalyst, prob one of the strongest dueling classes in wvw, and this build melted me INSTANTLY. Cc after cc, confusion after confusion, torment after torment, AND I MEAN STACKS UPON STACKS VERY QUICKLY. I was running antitoxin relic with aura condi cleanse on fire traitlines, and still, the amount of condis this was dishing out even after I would cleanse was fucking ridiculous. I've been pretty comfortable in an OP cele catalyst, but this build is my absolutely kryptonite.
just run focus off hand and chain 4 into a mag aura and dont transmute fire aura. or run dagger off hand with signet traits for mag aura. ele counters projectile based builds and the passive burns will force the mirage to swap off to the defensive set to cleanse or die. just dont spam too hard and you will be fine

I have encountered a couple of these dagger mirages since the expansion launch. So annoying to fight against.
Interrupt, interrupt, confusiom, torment, interrupt, interrupt, confusion, torment, interrupt, interrupt, etc etc. Pretty much my experience against this build. That dagger ambush should not daze.

With the constant dazes, blind on daze, and all of the dodges. I'm surprised you take any damage. Mirage is such a fun class to play.
Ive been playing this since you made this build since posted up now and idk why but I prefer to play mirage mantle over desert distortion while roaming.
Can this build work for spvp? Also was wondering if you know or have played core condi thief using scepter pistol. It’s super strong and mobile. Thank you!
I am using it atm for sPvP and I really like it. Wizard amulet makes it a good hybrid power/condi damage. Same sigils and runes.

how do you deal with will benders, since their stab and naturally high condi cleansing makes them hard to kill
use your distortion and evades when they are in stability, and pressure them with your dazes when they arent
SotO provides so much fun for mesmer. I'm happy, that it is my main. Can't wait for mesmer rifle. I have no idea what it'll be, but surely amazing. Imagine ambush rifle attack makes me excited.
Awesome vid :) so on guildjen you are writing to use the f2 skill (shatter) in the combo. Why is the f2 recommended? Could I also use F4 (distort) in the combo?
because the f2 does damage, the f4 would not. You want to shatter clones once there are no more ambushes to trigger off of them, if you have the F4 to use then do that for more ambushes, but generally thats using your distortion offensively and you wont last long if your enemies dont die instantly

Have you tried GS / Dagger + Pistol Mirage yet?
thats great for hitting zergs in larger fights for sure, and yea thats what ive been using for that purpose, but for roaming the sword is way better for mobility

what rune and amulet would you use for spvp?

My best guess is to keep Travelers rune and use Wizard amulet?
If the move speed on the rune is all that's important I could see Lynx being an option as well. I'm not sure how much survivability you'd lose with this though.

I love 1v1 in wvw but they alway have 5 peoples in groups. I just want to have a duel but they ran away to their teammates and so gang up on me. I not good at one vs multiple players.

only if perma stealth, minstrels, and bunker trait lines do too
Don't think minstrel has the same problem as cele does, cele is tanky while having similar pressure as a power build. Big problem comes from boon duration which makes some hybrid builds able to self sustain high might. Minstrel is locked in to a support role and puts out low pressure.

Of course, the absolute worst is meeting a small organized squad with 1 minstrel support and the rest cele, it's literally unkillable if they play right

@@Vallun it's not the most interesting way (for me personally) to play WvW. Most fights drag on or end with both players not being able to kill the other. Especially if both players have Cele gear. Sometimes feels like you're a big sponge. You can take punches but at the end of the day you're still a sponge. But everyone has their favorite playstyle!
I'll do that for you, he assumes for you showing this cele build that it's the only thing you do, as in never showing any variations, strange tho, if I look trough your vids and stream I see many builds :D @@Vallun
this build is not a bunker build, I know you've been mind controlled into thinking cele is what makes fights go on for long, but it's actually traits and playstyles. This build is literally full damage traits, not like the celestial renegade build that literally uses two fully defensive trait lines. Players being bad at dealing damage and running bunker builds is what makes it go on for long, not the celestial stats. In fact, this build is one of the few builds that can actually kill one of those bunkers, whereas a power mesmer would drop off after its burst and then die.@@xj3233
