- A state lawmaker says large corporations are buying up mobile home parks in Florida and jacking up the prices.
In two weeks, a new law, HB 613, takes effect to try to stop it.
State Rep. Paula Stark, who co-authored the legislation, said she did it after hearing dozens of horror stories about unacceptable amenities and rising lot rents.
The large corporations are destroying Florida
At least we banned China. Biden is responsible for the rest.
These corporations are destroying the prospect of affordable or low cost housing. Their greed will leave people homeless. Jeez, leave something for folks with lower incomes! Greedy and evil.
Affordable housing isn't a prospect. We are turning into the Philippines because of our Government.
I thought Capitalism was the American way, especially in red states like Florida .
They can move to NYC .
@deansclafani5567 New Yorkers can afford to live in Florida . It is Florida natives that are poor and uneducated that can't afford their trailers anymore . Survival of the fittest and they can't compete .
Pure greed. Welcome to the USA!
The USSRA. Bidenomics.
Berkshire Hathaway / Warren Buffet owns the majority of these mobile home parks. Watch an interview of this guy and he'll come off as humble but in reality he's hording massive wealth by harming the most vulnerable of our society. The guy is a demon.
Feel free to leave anytime! Sure, you can find something in Mexico!👌
People can barely afford to live nowadays. I dont know how everyone gets by. is it just constant struggle?
It's time to force Scams of America out of the business and sell all their parks
The Meadows Mobile Park HOA in Palm Beach gardens is now $1400/month 😳😠
This is simple thief of these home owner's equity by these companies. The price of your unit you can sell it for goes down when the lot rent goes up significantly. You can not move your home. You cannot just leave as a renter can. What needs to happen is that the state has to allow and support these parks buy them as residence owned parks. This happened to me. Our park was being sold to a Florida company. However, our state law provides that the residents have the first right of refusal to buy the park each time it is offered for sale. In our case, it pissed off the owner because he could not do a quick sale but after going to court our park is now resident owned. Our lot rent went up $200 a month but our value of our units have sky rocketed because buyers know exactly what they are getting. Florida needs to do these too.
A mediator? Paid by big corporations? Joke. Let's see what happens
Equity? They are trailer parks.
Yes they are trailer parks but now they own their little piece of land. Land accumulates/holds value.
@@edwardsuarez-ri5dz Socialism is needed to protect park dwellers
Why doesn't this lawmaker pass a bill prohibiting corporations from buying up these properties?
Corporations own those type properties. Individuals never own them.
Red State trailer park dwellers looking for govt to take care of them . What next

Move to California!😂
The prices for everything in Florida are getting out of hand and the job wages just don't keep up.
I pay $750 a month for my concrete Pad, and hook ups. I live North of Florida.
When you put your mobile home on a rented spot let it be temporary until you buy you some land to put it on. Never get comfortable on somebody else land they can sell it or go with the rent and you have no control
It's game over for home owners and mobile home owners, corporations are going to squeeze you out of your homes, so you can pay rent to them instead.
Corporations are
people too . Too many libtards like you moving to trailer parks in Florida
The REAL *BEAUTY* of Capitalism!!! 🤣
This isn't Capitalism.
You can find mobile home rents on the lot around thousand bucks but in the next year or two because of the rental crisis and all the people coming to Florida prices will be $2,000 and $3,000 per month for a rental lot that doesn't include the trailer that is your trailer
sue the corp LLC and this will stop.....
Sure sue Blackrock. They are in Bidens cabinet. That should work out swell!
PAULA=great person!
this started in florida about 10 years ago. anything goes in florida. apartments are in the same situation.
Louis Bolden is a great investigator.
In some instances resident's can form a CO-OP as a solution.
Stark needs to reconsider her choice in wigs cuz that shake and go red one is awful.
High tech block busting . Force people out and develop.
Corporations should not be able too take advantage especially a majority of the people that's goin effect are elderly people they being taking advantage of and the corporations are monopolizing
Had to pawn my tattoos to pay rent.😢😢
Thats a monopoly! Let real people own these parks or let the park mobile home owners buy the land ! And come on now! Corporations should be accountable they should only be able to own 5 or 7 and the ones they own should be in good shape ! Im all for raising the rent yearly etc... but it should be in small increases.. never more than 10% each lease. Yes the mobile home owners also need to keep their own units clean and washed power washed etc... but a pool like that is dangerous and an eye sore. 😢
And Unions should only be allowed to assimilate 5% of the workforce!
Only in America people put their HOME on rental property!! LOL .Move if you will not pay for the rent increases!
Well the simple solution to all this is whoever decides to raise rent should be double triple taxed for every price hike...then maybe they could suffer a bit..
She has enough money to get tattooed top to bottom, saw an article that said tattoo ink is causing cancer.
Welcome to Florida
Affordable place to live no longer it’s sad, car insurance up, home insurance up, insurance companies move out Florida.
Where is Ron DeSantis have to say about this? I hope they vote him out.
Ok, good idea, NOT!😂
You had money for piercings and tattoos 🤔
conservative capitalist florida upset with corporate behavior
I won’t buy this stock. It’s a sin stock in my book like cigarettes.
Next do the marinas. It’s capitalism, late stage capitalism. You’re just going to spend all your time and energy trying to fix a broken system.
