Love his passion and enthusiasm for playing, He feels every note and has soul for sure.. Reminds me of a young Ted Nugent.. Looking forward to hearing an album and following his career.. Wish him all the best
I can only love the way he plays with such an authority without a pic. Also to play with extremely minimalic rig is just awesome. This is the real shait.
Premier Guitar should do a rig rundown about John Bohlinger! This guy is beyond cool; Many times I would watch the episode just so I can see him. & he actually responded to my DM on Facebook. He is the best thing that has happened to Premier Guitar =] #JohnBohlinger
John is awesome! check out starting at 46:25 for his rig rundown as of 3 years ago. its probably changed some since then. They should do it again! ua-cam.com/video/yus1-coYimI/v-deo.html
Jared is such a great personality. He’s always so pumped to talk about or play guitar. His big personality is matched only by his big playing style. That red Les Paul is super cool
How do people give a video like this a thumbs down? I'll never get that. Two great dudes, and two awesome musicians talking about gear. Doesn't get much better than that.
Besides being an outstanding and unique player with tons of raw tone, Jared just seems like a really decent guy. The way he is so enthusiastic speaking to John and says he loves rig rundowns and thanks people for watching at the end, just a class dude. Bluespower!
That was FANTASTIC! What a great guy. Only wish it could have been longer, but so grateful y'all found the time to do this. That amp looks SWEET! Going on my shortlist, for sure.
Jjn... Literally the raddest and most down to earth dude... He and John 5...amazing to meet and talk with at a concert.... Both just genuine as hell.... And AMAZINGLY TALENTED to boot
Thank you Jared for an incredible Les Paul. I never thought I would be able to afford a real custom Black Beauty and now I own one. Your signature LP is identical to a Gibson but much more affordable. Can`t wait to see you in concert!
I used to think rock guitar players are a dying breed. Then I discovered JJN, and were probably in good hands for another 40 yrs thanks to him and other young guys like Tyler Bryant. I'm a kid of the 70s and grew up with the best rock music. Now the torch is in these young guys hands to carry the banner for another generation. So run with it JJN!!
Jared is such a "groovy" dude. My favorite part is when he asked if he could play his own guitar to show him something, that's like the inverse of every run down.
Jared James Nichols is quite possibly (if he puts in hard work) the person who could save rock and roll. he's playing very very much reminds me of Paul Kossoff from Free.(he's got killer chops and great tone, and in a time of Djent, auto-tuning everything, overproduction and sound quality on most of the records that are released? he is definitely a breath of fresh air with his blues-based Rockthat so many people are afraid the play because they think other guitar players are going to think they suck(reason being there not shredding arpeggios up and down the fretboard) Jared James gets it,he understands what the blues is ALL ABOUT it's about getting out there and speaking your voice through your instrument.hats off to this man I want one of these signature models by the way.
Excellent player & as good a rock tone as you will ever hear, all from a guitar /amp/ 1 pedal (a Klon admittedly👍) The ultimate in simplicity, he doesn’t even need a pick! Jared is something special & a great guy who is passionate about his craft!
Jared is such a cool guy. He did a in-store in Wales last year advertising his amp. He even let different people (including myself) have a play of Old Glory - that same guitar he's holding and he told me the likes of John 5, Ritchie Sambora etc have all played that guitar. May he continue to do well!
Met Mr. JJN at a show in Edmonton AB. Super nice guy and a killer guitar player to boot!! Love as this goes to black and some random Lady yells out how easy on the eyeballs he is,...outstanding!!
When you have just that one pickup it makes you focus on your playing and volume pot and tone pot. It's so weird how many sounds you can get out of it. Love Juniors.
This is the best sounding specimen of all the guitars I have seen him demo on youtube. Why do I have the feeling it's not one of the made in China ones.
I'm in my 50s trying to play guitar after 40 years of not playing with no feeling in my right hand. The pick either spins or just flys out of my hand because I can't feel it. I seen this crazy guy on The Trogley Show, and I know there is hope. JJN is a throw back to the best of the mid to late 60s with a lot of his own flavor. Awesome, awesome guitarist!!!! Was thinking of buying a Les Paul Junior until I seen this video. Also thanks to John Bohlinger for bringing this to us. I was hoping to see you take a shot at old red.
MrGixxer1300r Good luck with the playing! Have you ever thought about trying a thumb pick? Wraps round your thumb so could help with keeping hold of it!
red check out him playing with Greg Koch when he was younger. Sick, sick, thoroughly performance even if poorly recorded: ua-cam.com/video/gYc83b0fjfg/v-deo.html
wait... the '53 LP wasn't his carry-on? he took the amp which is distributed worldwide lol! unbelievable player, and totally inspiring. guitar heroes aren't gone!
You more a fan of blackened neo-djent pornogrind played through Fractal Audio effects processors linked to multiple rack units with wireless management software to monitor fluctuating frequencies?
But enough about his playing without a pick or how simple his rig is. Let's talk about how he makes the most epic guitar faces of the last 30 years. The squinting right into eyes closed while still playing. The hair flips. The stache wiggles locked in with the groove. JJN takes the guitar face, turns it inside out, puts some stank on it and reinvents it for the new millennium. The guitar face is alive and well in 2020

Great tone
Love his passion and enthusiasm for playing, He feels every note and has soul for sure.. Reminds me of a young Ted Nugent.. Looking forward to hearing an album and following his career.. Wish him all the best
Love that guy's playing! Goes straight up to the point! and asking permission to "play a little bit" 😂
I can only love the way he plays with such an authority without a pic. Also to play with extremely minimalic rig is just awesome. This is the real shait.
Takes guitar playing back to its bare essentials. Just gotta love it .... and besides he seems to be such a kind n humble dude. Keep it up, JJN 🤟🏽
This dude is just as nice as his playing
The Brother has the Blues running through his veins Hard!! 💙
This is about 20 minutes too short... Love Jared's playing!
Premier Guitar should do a rig rundown about John Bohlinger! This guy is beyond cool; Many times I would watch the episode just so I can see him. & he actually responded to my DM on Facebook. He is the best thing that has happened to Premier Guitar =]

He's a wayyyyyy better player than you might expect too!
I agree... John is the man
I believe this is the BEST rig rundown I've seen by far! JJN, you are amazing...
The more I watch him play, the more I become a fan of his. Great player.
Jared: This is a 20 watt amplifier.
John: So, what is max power?
Jared: Uh......20 watts.
🤣🤣🤣
Um duh!
One of the best players of today. Such a unique playing style with his fingers and thumb but so much feel in every note.
no pick, no pick guard, one pick up.. man after my own heart
Jared is such a great personality. He’s always so pumped to talk about or play guitar. His big personality is matched only by his big playing style. That red Les Paul is super cool
Man, Jared is having so much fun doing what he loves and he loves everything. 🥰
@13:16 "You are one easy person on the eye balls." Says the drunk lady in the background at the end of the video. Lol, that was funny.
Love this player. Killer sound, great licks, cheerful attitude. Wish more people in the guitar world were this sympathetic!
Rig Rundown is one of the best things on UA-cam. This is killer.
Saw him open for John 5 a few months ago. He is an AWESOME player and puts on a hell of a show.
I saw him in Rochester NY with j5.... I agree.... Amazing!
To be perfectly honest I had never heard of him until he opened for John 5. I'm a huge fan now, the dude is just a monster!
So awesome. John on the blues at sea this should be the greatest rig rundowns of all time.
This guy has tone for freaking years!! What an expressive technique he has, God bless.
How do people give a video like this a thumbs down? I'll never get that. Two great dudes, and two awesome musicians talking about gear. Doesn't get much better than that.
The '53 LP is just the absolute dog's bollocks!! Sounds so so goooooooooooddddddddddddd
Love that uses it as his number two and an Epiphone as his number 1. But the sound on that 53 is incredible
I like his Epi, but that Gibson took it up a bunch of notches.
already watched unlisted. had to watch again. seems like a genuine guy. killer player. tons of soul. love this dude.
Besides being an outstanding and unique player with tons of raw tone, Jared just seems like a really decent guy. The way he is so enthusiastic speaking to John and says he loves rig rundowns and thanks people for watching at the end, just a class dude. Bluespower!
Jared’s playing has jumped into a whole new level in the past two years ,wow..
That was FANTASTIC! What a great guy. Only wish it could have been longer, but so grateful y'all found the time to do this. That amp looks SWEET! Going on my shortlist, for sure.
If this rundown was LOTR long, I would still watch the entire thing without a doubt.
Never heard of this guy but one of the best authentic feeling rig rundowns ive seen
Yeah man. Thanks man.
First time I've seen a cherried '53...........a great sounding LP......cheers Premier Guitar.
Jjn... Literally the raddest and most down to earth dude... He and John 5...amazing to meet and talk with at a concert.... Both just genuine as hell.... And AMAZINGLY TALENTED to boot
Awesome guitarist, he loves what he does.
Amazing sound and great technique! Less is more! I love that.
Thank you Jared for an incredible Les Paul. I never thought I would be able to afford a real custom Black Beauty and now I own one. Your signature LP is identical to a Gibson but much more affordable. Can`t wait to see you in concert!
wow, so good, such a killer player, this is what the blues needed, a physical kick in the arse by someone who as he says, "lives in the moment."
Wow! Spot on!🎤🎸🎵🥁
Great simple rig and an unbelievably awesome player.
Whoa, vintage Les Paul, backup guitar to a budget Epiphone... awesome!
Jared is such a "groovy" dude. My favorite part is when he asked if he could play his own guitar to show him something, that's like the inverse of every run down.
What a guy. What a player. What a rig.
Awesome all round.
This guy actually is greatful for his talent. I love that.
Great playing , enthusiasm and a genuine guy . Tone for days , love it .
Dig it! both guitars sound killer... great P-90 tone!
Jared James Nichols is quite possibly (if he puts in hard work) the person who could save rock and roll. he's playing very very much reminds me of Paul Kossoff from Free.(he's got killer chops and great tone, and in a time of Djent, auto-tuning everything, overproduction and sound quality on most of the records that are released? he is definitely a breath of fresh air with his blues-based Rockthat so many people are afraid the play because they think other guitar players are going to think they suck(reason being there not shredding arpeggios up and down the fretboard) Jared James gets it,he understands what the blues is ALL ABOUT it's about getting out there and speaking your voice through your instrument.hats off to this man I want one of these signature models by the way.
that's a good reference i do hear a little PK now that you mention it. Jared a a little more technically gifted perhaps but there's a common thread
Hi..I love the way this guy plays..Glad he got a nice old guitar to play...Thanks///DH
I believe I hurt myself when JJN whipped out that 59...but then, it healed me again.
One of the coolest rig rundowns
the interviewer is great, what a cool dude! you can tell he actually knows his stuff and enjoys talking about guitar!
Great Sounding Rig! Excellent playing.
He’s like an enjoyable Ted Nugent.
Great playin’ !!
ThemFuzzyMonsters
Bahahaha. Now that is funny.
True
Ted's music and playing is likeable regardless of his politics
Looks like an overgrown Cliff Burton
@@FlipGuitarist80 but in the modern age nobody is allowed to separate the art from the artist
Back to basics. More is less. Less is more. He kills it! ;) Blues power is right!!
Thank you 🎸🎸🙂what a fantastic feeling. A really great guitar player. 🙂🎸Greetings from Germany and The Cute Urchins.
P90's forever👍🏽👍🏽🇬🇧🇬🇧
Good Golly... I’m half asleep and my eyes and ears woke the up to those delicious licks and solos! Damn that 53 has so much mojo!
Excellent player & as good a rock tone as you will ever hear, all from a guitar /amp/ 1 pedal (a Klon admittedly👍) The ultimate in simplicity, he doesn’t even need a pick! Jared is something special & a great guy who is passionate about his craft!
That’s a VICIOUS tone on the intro - wows. I don’t need to watch the whole video to comment 😝

Just always such good vibes coming from JJN, I love it!
love the applause from off camera 😂
Met Mr. JJN at a show in Edmonton AB. Super nice guy and a killer guitar player to boot!! Love as this goes to black and some random Lady yells out how easy on the eyeballs he is,...outstanding!!
Met this guy about a year in ago in Winnipeg. Super nice guy and great talent.
Wow, his finger picking dynamics are the shizzle. This guy is really fun.
Rig rundown? That was a TONE rundown!
On an EPIPHONE
World's tallest rig rundown
I wonder how tall Jared is, I know Bolinger is like 6’3
M. Goetz I’ve read somewhere that he’s 6’5
When you have just that one pickup it makes you focus on your playing and volume pot and tone pot. It's so weird how many sounds you can get out of it. Love Juniors.
I bring one to jams. I get strange looks before, but that guitar gets compliments afterwards.
This is the best sounding specimen of all the guitars I have seen him demo on youtube. Why do I have the feeling it's not one of the made in China ones.

Saw him live in at the Winchester in Lakewood, Ohio with John 5 and he was freakin' awesome!!!!!
Jared is amazing man!
He's the best Blues Guitarist I've heard in the last 10 years...
Better than J.D. Simo? Kirk Fletcher? Josh Smith? Matt Schofield?
@@MontyCantsin5 Yes.
Let's not get carried away. He's a good player, but super generic. Paint by numbers. There are about 10,000 better blues players alive.
He’s great, but He’s no Josh Smith.
@@leddygee1896: Well, if you prefer his playing; great! I don't think he's anywhere near the blues players listed above though.
Seems like a cool guy. Kinda reminds me of Deadpool’s bartender pal.
This guy is a legend
This guy has it down, amazing tone and insane playing!
He’s an incredible player! Rips!
Met him last week. Such a nice guy and an incredible player
Like the way he talks about the Toolzzz its like talking about your old boards and all thinking about all the good waves you had on it...
I'm impressed.
I really like this guy.
This guy is a BEAST!!
Never heard of this guy but damn he seems so genuine and that tone is lush.

That bend bit was straight 🔥
I wanna watch the show now!
that red '53 GT is just great, those p90's...
I’m not a fan of blues, blues players, or minimal rigs, but damn, this dude is one of the most unique players/gear heads on the planet.
You more a fan of blackened neo-djent pornogrind played through Fractal Audio effects processors linked to multiple rack units with wireless management software to monitor fluctuating frequencies?
Rig Rundowns would be very different if everyone was this excited to be doing them.
Not a big blues-box fan but this guy is a lot of fun. Nice job.
blackstar amps should grab this guy and never let go…. All the bigger names would line up to endorse this living legend
This should be everyones first electric guitar ! sick tones and affordable ..... plus as you improve you can coax out all that fire!
Lol, l love the fact that he don't care to show you his rig, half as much as you being able to hear it. Devastating tone!
This is the first artist I remember in a while who asked to play and show what his rig can do.
so cool
Newest hero just sold me his signature amp! I’m a brand new fan since seeing him on Gibson
But enough about his playing without a pick or how simple his rig is. Let's talk about how he makes the most epic guitar faces of the last 30 years.
