This is literally my former 1953 goldtop..... I started watching the video and immediately noticed the chip on the headstock veneer and the missing binding higher up on the neck. Then went on the website and saw it was the same serial number. Cool to run into it again... like the color. When I had it the top was already refinished in the gold he was talking about and it had the wraparound tailpiece. Hope the new owner enjoys it.
That’s really interesting, as I was looking at the carve and thinking it didn’t look like a 58 carve, more like an early Goldtop. It was also way too lustrous compared to the finished of the headstock. And there we go! You’ve just confirmed my thoughts. So amazing it was your actually guitar! Thanks for sharing the story
Lots of comments about the guitar (and yeah, it’s cool) but what about this player?! He’s fantastic. Coaxes some sweet sounds out of that old misfit of a Gibson.
Everything about this guitar looks amazing. Splendid job! I saw I’m not the first to point this out, but the choice for that colour is BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL 😍 I know lots of people only want to see the traditional colors, but at this point in time EVERYBODY owns a butterscotch blonde Telecaster, whether it’s a Custom Shop Fender, a Squier Classic Vibe or anything else, everybody and their grandmothers have a butterscotch blonde Tele, or a Les Paul burst, or a two tone Sunburst on a 50’s style Stratocaster and so on. And I’m just bored with them. I used to love them with all my heart, like all of us, but because of that I crave for something new. I recently painted one of my Telecasters in a matte olive drab green. It looks great, but it’s a hard colour to capture on camera. I’m planning on painting another Tele in matte grey. Anyway, I LOVE the finish on this beautiful Les Paul and whoever is going to buy this beauty is going to be the happiest person in the world! ❤
Great job and beautiful colour choice, but holy heck; I would have just put one of those mojoaxe wrap over bridge tailpieces on it and called it a day, rather than do a whole neck reset.
Nope, I did all the work, I’m the guy in the video. Joe is a close friend of ours though and also does amazing finishes, I’m flattered to be mentioned in the same breath. Thanks for watching!
i know people who spend this level of cash cream up over originality, but you really don't want frets from 1953/56. new ones (installed correctly) will make the guitar much more comfy to play
Remember when people could read a description? The link to the guitar is right there, with the number you're looking for. Then again having flag profile and rehashing a nearly 20 year old Family Guy joke as if it is funny... we really shouldn't be expecting much here, should we?
who pays for these comments?? It is a substandard refinish neck binding is crap filthy grunge not scraped at the fingerboard end.. if you are going to do it do it right! you would have more views if you uploaded the process........

Totall class sr
So cool you recognized it. :)Guitars with stories to tell are automatically cooler.
So why did you sale it?
@@maxmonacolife is a good explanation

Wouldn’t it be great if Gibson put guitars into production with that color!
Exactly they do
They currently offer the color "olive drab", exclusively on their website. Pretty similar color.
Love the color choice 👏
Same here and it sounds amazing 👍👍
that industrial green is killin
great choice
i would totally own that!

He's got a fantastic touch. Great player!
Y’all should gift Taylor that guitar, I swear they were meant to be together. That thang sounds like a damn Tele on roids, badass…!
Thanks for the kind words, y’all!
They did good work to make it look like this. Beautiful green
Totally dig the finish ‘ and that’s coming from a guy that has two GOLD TOPS plus
Color choice is great!
That Gibson is spectacular.
That is GORGEOUS! Gibson needs to use that color!!!
Also - great touch and style from Taylor - tasteful and sonically on point. ☝️👍
Thank you!
Looks like a Country club Cadillac green. It's really cool than a burst refinish.
Nice Work Tyler & Taylor! WooF!
It’s one of the best-looking LPs I’ve ever seen, and sounds gorgeous.
good call on the color
That is a lovely guitar!!

Now that is cool, love the color.
Man that is so cool. I'd totally rock this!
Love it!!! It will always be a '53. You guys are the best. 6 good numbers and we'll meet in person, thats a promise 🤘🎸👍
PS the dish carve on that thing is incredible!! Great playing too brother!!!
That’s rad 😊
Cool axe. Betcha it plays like dream.
I like it. Good job
Very cool!
Great color! Not exactly Olive Drab, which I love, but similar. And please let Taylor know that it's okay to use the pinky on his left hand.
🎩
😁
👕👍Great!
👖
Yeah it’s perfect
Great job and beautiful colour choice, but holy heck; I would have just put one of those mojoaxe wrap over bridge tailpieces on it and called it a day, rather than do a whole neck reset.
Wow kudos for going with that color I love it it’s tuff!!!
very nice guitar and great playing....does he normally play a tele?
Yeah, I’m usually a tele guy.
Ide like to see vid of the neck reset work.
P90s for the win, very cool colour.
Okay, this gets my heart beating a little faster.
Damn, it just posted an hour ago and it’s sold. 😳
Did joe riggio pain this with his old dupont green he has?
Looks great! I want him to refinish the top on my 71 les paul!
Nope, I did all the work, I’m the guy in the video. Joe is a close friend of ours though and also does amazing finishes, I’m flattered to be mentioned in the same breath. Thanks for watching!
Lmao previous owner getting absolutely dragged
I'll take it. ;)
very surprised how Tele-like that bridge position sounded ..
looks and sounds the part. problem is, I dont think you'd get the value back if you'd try and resell it, seeing that it had so many issues
It’s nothing to do with the value when you love Guitars It’s a music lovers thing not a money thing
@@stevencurrie1540 negative. That’s a huge investment you’d have to protect.
Little snippets of walk don't run, nice
The frets look REALLY low. Sounds lovely though.

Somebody will buy it, but a simple stop tail would have done. A 1950 Chevy color? Well, somebody will buy it. Like Sly said, different strokes,,,
I’d love it
Is no correct oil motor. Do you need 5/40 and no 0/30.
Single coils 🎉
Remember when Emerald City used to post their prices?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.

I love it because it so one of a kind
Hahaha your Les Paul refinishing video has 7 views man. Thanks for the advice though.
