I really like the deep dives into design and manufacturing. I have had a D30 phone case for 2 years now with no complaints. Definitely going to pick up some elbow and knee pads. Good video!
Is no one really going to point out their absolutely terrible excuse for Oobleck? why would I trust your product if you're incapable of making something as simple a oobleck or that you had to intentionally make it bad to make your product look better?
@@TuckerSmith-xm8es for sure, I have no doubt it’s much better and that makes it just that much weirder that they’d make such a poor excuse for oobleck.
🤔come on guys oobleck is much thicker than the soggy mess you used in your "experiments". and i'm sure you know that but couldn't resist those sweet internet points. i must say it's pretty on par with the quality i'm used to with the UK based Loam Wolf team 😒
They should make some grips because us trials riders without suspension take some pretty big impacts to the wrists/hands off drops and we also already ride foam grips
so at 5:56 or so, I feel a better test would be taking the finished product D30 material, and safely securing an egg to that, then doing the drop test. ;)
I get that, but we’re ignoring the fact that a real test requires the same subject before and after the experiment. Seems disengenuous to test with eggs before when the substance made a cool experiment, but then switch to a person after heating the same substance for the final result.
@MastaShredduh the neon orange slime is just for publicity. The actual pads work as advertised and harden on impact, like a custom plastic suit if armor. Plenty of reviews out there.
This was a comforting video. I've got D3O pads, but haven't had to really test them yet. Bravo!
Hopefully you never have to test it, but it's likely to do a good job if the time comes!

Right on and thanks for sharing.
Try the same experiments with the same thickness you get on body protection
great job on the production of the video!
Thanks so much. Glad you liked it!
It reminds of silly putty from when I was a kid
Both are long chain silicon rubbers. So yeah bang on call.
I wanna see some mtb grips made with these in the centre of the layers in order to absorb shock better
Well what do you know…they make grips with ODI!
@@TheLoamWolf I might have to pick up a pair
We need "stuff" we can squirt into the tyres rather than air.
I picked up a pair and have had good results with hand fatigue and numbness. I only struggle with pump now from riding for a long time 😅
What a terrible idea that you have not thought through @@border304
Great work Robert and the team.
Btw, can I buy your merch anywhere in EU?
You can order from our store, but sadly shipping isn’t the most economical. We’re working on a solution! What would you like?
Now this is science! Lol love the vid mate keeping it fun.
Glad you enjoyed it

that's what im saying... their "oobleck" was straight up some kind of just liquid? It didn't act like any oobleck I've ever seen in real life
I will say the D30 does seem a lot better than actual oobleck anyway

Although i love protection with this. It will not stop rock impacts from piercing through or ripping it.
As with anything, there's limits to its capabilities, but we've taken some slams in rocks with D3O in the past and it held up okay!

I use 3DO products for snowboarding and mountain biking, it has saved me so many times.
It has saved our crew many times as well
So cool and interesting!

ODI collab they’re out now!

We wanted to test it with something more fragile than an egg, hence using Robert...

Does it protect pagers?
It certainly could do.
Great product!!!!!
We really like it too.
I hear you can use it as napalm when mixed with diesel? 😂
Why no D30 on helmets?
There's D3O in certain helmets for motorsport, snow, american football and military. Maybe it'll come to mountain bike soon, we will see!
Ok D3O isnt ooblek, but have they just reengineered silly putty?
