According to some commenters, the new version of Quadlock works with wireless charging. I’ll need to test that out! Their cases have been great for me in the past.
I’ve been using quad lock since the iPhone 8. I’ve never had any issues with it not charging wirelessly. I’ve changed my phone every night for years. Plus I like how I can use the circle to center it when I’m using the phone 1 handed. I’m on the 13 pro max, so it’s a chonker.
Strava is not really that useful for mountain bikers. I use it for road rides to track my estimated calories burned, estimated power output, estimated times. A free way to track metrics, if you care about improving your performance. I don't want to spend money on a power meter nor a "health" watch, and i don't even have a strava subscription.
I have the quadlock because it comes with the option for a universal mount and can easily be removed and attached with just one hand. The fidlock and mous cases looked like you'd need two hands to remove them. Is that the case? Quadlock also comes with cases for way more phones than mous does (mous seems to only produce iPhone cases).

I built a manual trainer as a lockdown project, and i loved it ! I was using it to do some small 5 mins training, just put a helmet on and lift that front wheel. I could've just done in the street (well not during lockdown but still), but that would've meant fully gearing up ... The manual trainer was a good way to store my bike, and have some fun while improving manual/balance skills, so i wouldn't say there's useless
I’ve used a Mous case on my iPhones for the last 5 years, they are by far the most durable case I’ve ever had. The new ones support magnetic mounts, so that’s what I use in the car. However, I’d need to buy a new case to be able to use it with my bike, I think that’s a backwards step. I won’t be replacing my case until I get an new phone with a different shape, as this case was £60!
That rubber chain guide limiter thing looks cool. I thought I was clever putting thin crafting foam tape on a few key places as I use that stuff on everything, but that takes it even farther like a forcefield for your chain.
FiveTen was bought by Adidas a couple of years ago and a lot of quality issue things seemed to pop up. I noticed it the most in rock climbing shoes but just recently got a new pair of free rider pros and agree they feel different than they used to.
I switched from Freeriders to RC Livewires and I'm happy with them. Better built, stiffer sole, faster drying, and grip is nearly the same. All for the same price. Oh and lace holders too.
I got a Mous ad before the video. I personally use the case and yes, it is everything that it advertises. Theeeee best case for your phone, I highly recommend
Seth, I had an awesome experience yesterday while going for a ride to my nearest park! I saw a kid my age riding in the same direction and said hi and introduced myself and we ended up biking together for an hour or two and exchanged Instagram's! Loving the cycling community :D
I just got (back) into MTB and your channel is simply AMAZING! Keep up the great work! Bought the Fidlock bottle for my new bike because I saw you fiddle - no pun intended - with it in this video!
Seth I strongly recommend watching some of the test videos that mouse has done with their cases. Danny tested it on his trials bike and landed on it from like 10 feet up and it didn’t do a thing to the phone.
I've been happy with my switch from Freeriders to Livewires. Better built, stiffer sole, lace holders, faster drying, nearly the same grip and at the same price. My only gripe is that nobody sells them locally.
Quadlock DOES have mounts that work with wireless charging. I use one in my car, along with a wireless charging adapter for my phone that didn't come with wireless charging, and they work great. I don't think you would want to use one of those on your bike though, that would mean you'd have to strap a battery to your bike frame and wire it to the mount. I doubt the wireless charging piece is even compatible with the bike mount
Quad lock will work with a wireless charger, at least for my Pixel! I use it on my bike (normal mount) and my motorcycle with their wireless charger. I use a regular cheap wireless charger on my desk. I like the case of the Fidlock a lot though, looks a lot sleaker.
The only issue I have with that phone mount is that if your bike is upside down your phone will be the first thing to get crushed by your 30 pound bicycle.
As far as I know, that's just on motorcycles due to long rides and the vibration, that's why they have a rubber mount to dampen the vibration on the motorcycle mount. MTB should be fine
I personally stand by mous as a regular phone case, I’ve used it for 4 years on different phones and it’s just amazing! Absolutely great phone protection!
I'd be interested to see how well the Fidlock performs when the suctiony part gets wet or dusty. Doesn't seem like it would be an issue with the Maus one because the clips are what hold it in.
Amazing how much better Fidlock is than everyone else in their category. Love my water bottle and their chin strap on my TLD helmet is a game changer. So simple, so perfect.
We got Phone mounts from SP Connect in our shop. They come in Bundles with cases and Rain Protection. They also have a huge ammount of other stuff for all kind of different using. If you ask me SP Connect ist the Best Phone holder out there and they are really easy to use and long living. I love your Videos, Greetings from Germany 😊🤘🏻
I laughed when you showed the cable buddies. A couple weeks ago, I noticed a similar cable clip on a Santa Cruz. Went looking and found them on aliexpress as ganopper clips. Now there is another options. Nice!
I like that you said the bottom of those shoes looks different than most platform-pedal shoes, when it looks like the typical Vans waffle grip that is arguably the most commonly ridden shoe in BMX. Funny how things change so much from one sect of biking to the other!
Five Ten changed because they got bought by Adidas which is why Ride Concepts are so popular now, also the Mous bike system was developed with Danny Macaskill and Greg Minnar testing the products which is why they work so well.
The Adidas purchase also affected Five Ten climbing shoes. There is a newer company called Unparallel that was made up from a bunch of the ex-Five Ten employees who make shoes like they were before the purchase.
Definitely check out Peak Designs bike mount and case. The mounting is easy like the Fidlock, but wireless charging compatible and an out front bike mount of the Mous. Super stable, and didn’t budge or fly off when I crashed my bike a few weeks ago. Case is good but not quite perfect, but it has a lot of mount accessories in addition to the bike mount.
In the 38 years I’ve been mtn biking I’ve only gone up one time and forgotten something, and it was my shoes. I had switched from clip-ins to flats a couple seasons earlier so I had that going for me, but all I had was my Keen sandals which surprisingly work great. Halfway through the ride I mentioned to my son that I can’t believe how good they were working, which he said yeah you haven’t been bitching about it yet. I had just put a new set of RaceFace Atlas pedals on and if you know those pedals, I was expecting to go home with bloodied shins and calves
I never cared for the 510 shoes so I was running vans skate shoes until I came across the ride concepts. They are my favorite shoe now. Not just for mountain biking.
The ride concepts shoes are great. I have a pair of the Livewire shoes they make and love them. Tons of grip, but better cushion in the sole and a more robust toe box and upper compared to regular 5 10 freeriders.
my one problem with mounting your phone to your bike is that if its too good, it could be dangerous for your phone. I once had a really solid mount, and when i fell hard, my phone stayed on my bike. However, that meant all the energy from the fall traveled to my phone and it actually broke on the inside (the screen ribbon ripped). Its kind of like downhill skis, you want them to attatch to your feet strongly, but if you fall you don't want them to stay on
I have Ride Concepts Hellion Elites, I love them, they are comfortable, stick solidly on platforms, are like armor for your feet, and look super dope- slick and understated in the colors I got, which I don’t actually think are available anymore, but they rock.
Using the SKS Compit system myself... It's quadlock style but you can get a battery for it that wirelessly charges your phone when it's attached. They offer multiple mounting options, and they also sell a protective water resistant case if you want more protection for your phone than the SKS case offers. P.S. May we all be so fortunate to own enough property to build a trail system. Until then, maybe some people actually do have a need for indoor training tools.
You need to check out the sp connect phone case and holder. Incredibly polivalent, has mounts for everything, a very low profile case, and the top cap mount is absolutely minimal
I've heard a lot of good things about Ride Concepts but I've also heard a lot of good things recently about the Etnies Culvert Mid shoe. I didn't know Etnies made MTB shoes, but I've heard a few people swear by them in comparison to 510 and RC. I'd love to see you do a comparison!
I actually have the Mous case and wallet and absolutely love both of them, I’ll probably pick that one for the bike when I get my own Mountain Bike or go to Whistler Bike Park again.
The mouse case is the best case out there so you made the right choice because I have dropped my phone out my apartment with that case and it was fine no scratches no cracks nothing it’s crazy
Those phone cases look great! Like Seth I haven't gone to a quadlock because of the case with the bit sticking out. As a landscaper, the Mous with the holes in the case would let dirt in and I'd forever be cleaning it out. I don't use a wireless charger as I'm usually using my phone while it's charging so I think the other one will be fine.

I recently got a pair of RC Livewire's and they are fantastic. You should order a size a half size up but they are unbelievably comfortable and stick to OneUp pedals like glue. Highly recommend! Love this channel and am now looking into that ring tracker thingee. Thanks man
You should really take a look at the peak design bike mount. By far the best option out there with all metal construction, flat case, magnetic and super strong mechanical mount, and a whole ecosystem of other mounts. definitely more expensive than the competition, but i love mine!

could you elaborate on that? does the vibration destroy something?
does the king himself reply, just got to add, love berm peak and how it is going. keep it up!
Amazing how much better Fidlock is than everyone else in their category. Love my water bottle and their chin strap on my TLD helmet is a game changer. So simple, so perfect.
Thanks for letting me ride with you today. See ya next time.
Literally all I’ve been doing the last few days is just watching berm peak videos on repeat
Figuratively*
I laughed when you showed the cable buddies. A couple weeks ago, I noticed a similar cable clip on a Santa Cruz. Went looking and found them on aliexpress as ganopper clips. Now there is another options. Nice!
Thanks for all you do Seth
i bought a mous phone case for the years i had it my phone did not even have a scratch on. it 10/10 protection.
Love the jersey it's first UA-camr branded thing I really would buy and actually want :D
“Smashes phone on table just keeps talking” 😂😂
that slomo of the manual tilting with Seth screaming like a downed t-rex made me laugh soooo hard
I just got a pair of ride concepts for new biking shoes this year and they’re by far my favorite so far.
Really nice reviews Seth! :) I liked the RC shoes:)
Another vote for Peak Design. They also have a strap on mount for the stem/top tube if you don't want your mount out front of the handle bar.
Thx for the fidlock case Tipp. Mine came today. Loving it.
Its kind of like downhill skis, you want them to attatch to your feet strongly, but if you fall you don't want them to stay on
Life lessoned learned. Always listen to Eric
I have Ride Concepts Hellion Elites, I love them, they are comfortable, stick solidly on platforms, are like armor for your feet, and look super dope- slick and understated in the colors I got, which I don’t actually think are available anymore, but they rock.
Personally I am a mountain biker and I truly love these videos.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE SERIES!!!! (Flip Bike is a very close #2!)
I was getting so scared i thought you left but your back i love you so much
Next hack video: use your bike rack as a repair stand.
As someone who literally bought a bike a few days ago and is of Latino descent. The riding chancla is a must have!
Just purchased a Mous Mount because of this video! Thanks Seth!! 🤘🚲
SP connect FTW! clean, simple, great case, easy to use.
I was going to go on a ride. I get a notification for berm peak express, the ride can wait.
I actually have the Mous case and wallet and absolutely love both of them, I’ll probably pick that one for the bike when I get my own Mountain Bike or go to Whistler Bike Park again.
It’s finally riding season, school’s almost out, freakin’ stoked 🤙
Thanks Seth... I'm ordering the cable clips right now.
The mouse case is the best case out there so you made the right choice because I have dropped my phone out my apartment with that case and it was fine no scratches no cracks nothing it’s crazy
Awesome stuff Seth 🤘🔥 STFU.s are great 👍
Those phone cases look great! Like Seth I haven't gone to a quadlock because of the case with the bit sticking out.
As a landscaper, the Mous with the holes in the case would let dirt in and I'd forever be cleaning it out.
I don't use a wireless charger as I'm usually using my phone while it's charging so I think the other one will be fine.
that ring sounds sickkk! i would defo buy except its 400 pound
Every phone case Seth reviews:
“It’s actually nicer than the phone case I’m using now”
I've been a subscriber since before seth had a million subs and his videos really help me learn all about mountain biking and even now i still love watching all his videos. It's so amazing to see a before garage guy, now built his own trail park! I've always dreamed also of getting even just a mountain bike frame from seth and it would be a great honor if i get one!
keep it up sir seth!
