For Tough to be a Bug, if you think there’s at all a chance you or your kid might freak out with the dark or the effects, try to see if they can seat you towards the back of the theater and as close to the far side as possible. There’s a walkway in the back to allow for guests with accessibility concerns, but if you need to hop skip out of the theater right quick, the best way is gonna be to flag down the closest cast member and either head for that back aisle so they can guide you, or heads toward the far side wall if you’re closer so they can point you to the door.
The first time I went as an adult my friend/travel planner INSISTED I go on Flight of Passage. I was skeptical because I'm not really a fan of Avatar, but I was blown away. Could not believe how much I enjoyed it! I often have motion sickness issues on screen-based simulators, but the wind and water effects really helped to cut that down. I mentioned it to a cast member on the way out and they said that was intentional.
I think Navi river journey gets a lot of undeserved hate, sure it doesn’t have any drops or thrilling elements and even though it’s short (I’ll be the first to admit that) it’s still beautiful and has a lot of really great qualities like the animatronic at the end. I think the only reason it gets hate is because the line gets really long and it’s not worth it most of the time.
That’s the thing, no one wants to wait an hour for a slow boat dark ride, I would never wait that amount of time for Pirates, Jungle Cruise, or It’s A Small World.
Joe Rhode loves this attraction. I'm with Joe. There aren't many rides, if any, I would wait an hour to experience. That's why we rope drop it - right after Flight of Passage. Walk on and enjoy the ride.
I made the exact time management mistake trying to get flight of passage before a dining reservation at Disney springs. Glad to see that scenario called out!
I’m a big fan of the ambiance of the park and I feel that’s the most underrated part of it but not much denying it needs atleast one more big ride to draw attention away from the avatar rides so it’s not a 100 min wait for Flight and a 75 for River journey.
I don't think you can leave Carousel of Progress once it starts. I mean in an emergency you can but the cast member at the beginning always says this is a 20 minute show so basically leave now if you can't sit through it.
My rank worst to best. I think they all are worth doing at least once. If I didn’t rank it, I don’t consider it a ride. But all shows are also worth it. Triceratops Spin- it’s fine, but it’s just worse Dumbo. Navi River Journey- 1 beautiful animatronic on an otherwise lacking boat ride Dinosaur- fun, but worse Indiana Jones Flight of Passage- a solid ride… an extremely overrated ride Kali River Rapids- a weak river raft ride, but it’s still Florida heat and the only wet ride in the park. Expedition Everest- the best Disney coaster Kilimanjaro Safari- the animal ride of animal kingdom
One of my favorite rides was Navi River. The animatronics were amazing. It’s was a great break from the heat, it was relaxing and enjoyable. Unfortunately I get motion sickness so the flight ride was unfortunately hard on me.
I think they should put more into Pandora. I mean definitely didn’t put in the effort as they did with Star Wars. To me for one, it needs the Na’Vi walking around. Which you’d think they can easily pull off. If Universal can have Transformers meet and greets. Pandora is just missing something.
The avatar ride is so good it made me like that movie! I was always blah about avatar but that ride is soo cool I reminisce about it when watching the movie.
I agree that Expedition Everest hits different with age. I definitely felt it last year at 35 in comparison to riding it as a high schooler when it first opened.
100%. I rode it for the first time in my 30s last year (had previously been in my 20s or a teen the last times I visited) and I suddenly felt like I was being thrown around like a rag doll! I got my head caught in a weird position on the backwards section and came out with a really sore neck. It definitely hits different as you age.
Pre-gaming nausea meds everyday in the parks was so helpful on my last visit! It made every ride feel like the diet/lite version so I was able to have fun and not feel sick 11:09
I’d definitely consider the stand-by line on Expedition Everest to be worth it, as long as it’s not longer than about 45 minutes or so. If you’re into Himalayan culture, then I’d say yeah, do the stand-by. Contrast the stand-by line for Na’vi River Journey - no, don’t do it, get Genie+ for that one! The ride needs to be longer but the Na’vi Shaman is _definitely_ worth it! But avoid the stand-by line if at all possible. My party and I were unanimous in that the ride wasn’t worth an hour of walking back and forth, back and forth, back and forth in that labyrinthine and very unremarkable queue.
I totally agree! Disney has always been right on the money with their queue theming but Navi River Journey really dropped the ball. Zero theming whatsoever, and not even an effort to disguise how long the line is! Terrible.
If you've only got an hour to get to a reservation in Disney Springs, start heading for the exit NOW. If you've got a car, you'll be early, but not as early as you think... If you have to take a bus, good luck!
Dinosaur is the best ride at D-world, it has out lasted every ride that has had a story. I wish Disney would bring back the story element to their rides. Anyone remember the story for Space Mountain ?
I went on it back in 2010 I was 7 years old I was also terrified as well I screamed and cried and my mom felt bad she didn’t know it was going to be scary
My parents took me to It’s Tough to be a Bug in Disneyland when it was brand new. Permanently scared. I’m in my late twenties now and I still have to sit in regular theater seats with my legs pulled up onto the chair or crossed. 😂 I will not subject my toddler to the terror of that show. Maybe 10 and up if you can explain all the 4D effects in advance and they say they want to watch it anyway.
To me, Kilamanjaro Safari is the best in the park. It's not only the quintessential Animal Kingdom experience but it's a breathtaking expanse of landscaping and a phenomenal collection of animals. I enjoy Flight of Passage and I think it's as good as it gets when it comes to simulator rides. But all simulator rides are limited in terms of what you can experience and what your brain will accept as real. It doesn't crack my top 10 WDW attractions for that very reason.
I swear to God SKIP ITS TOUGH TO BE A BUG!! 😂😂 no tea no shade, but I wasn’t afraid of bugs as a young child…until I rode that ride when I was like 6 and I’ve had a phobia of bugs ever since 💀💀
Flight of Passage is an outstanding ride. Unfortunately, it's a one and done for me. It totally messed with my equilibrium -- to the point I got off the ride and ended up on the ground. I needed help to a backstage chair and eventually made it out of the ride via elevator. I had to spend the rest of the day sitting at a QS restaurant while the rest of my party enjoyed the park. Funny, no other rides at WDW (with the exception of Mission to Mars) cause me issues. It's a really great ride and despite my issues, I'm so glad that I rode it and recommend it even if you motion sickness issues. It's worth it, just plan.
Ok here’s my it’s tough to be a bug tip I’m going to do this next time in animal kingdom and parents please do this as well the start of tough to be a bug is super cute and funny with lots of fun bug action but when the stink bug comes on get out of the theatre because after that it’s all chaos and creepy stuff if you leave before hopper gets there your kids won’t be terrifed and you won’t have to feel bugs crawling on your butt in the finale
Hi AJ, two other anti-nausea solutions to recommend: Bonine (basicaly chewable Dramamine, with a slightly faster onset of prevention), and Transderm Scop (Scopalomine) patches. Available by prescription and should be applied at least eight hours before embarking. Cheers, JJ
I have to disagree with you on one thing. Dinosaur is one of the most jolting, jarring and unfun ride animal kingdom has. I wouldn't put it at the top most rides. It would be at the bottom for me.
Ok y’all, I need some expert Disney-goer opinions…in lines that have amenities (bathroom, water fountain), when you finish using it is it better to find your original place in line? Or try to jump in technically further back in the line? I feel like both will make people salty
I don't know how "It's Tough To Be A Bug" is liked. I watched it as a kid & a teen, and I still don't like it. I now skip the show even though my mom loves it.
this channel is a lifesaver as i get ready for my trip to disney 🙌🙌
I’d agree but I know pretty much everything I just watch this because I’m sad I’m not there lol
@@maxdewey2691 honestly that’s so real. i’ve been to disney 7 times but haven’t been in 6 years.

I also love Expedition Everest for having a single-rider line! I do sort of want to see the ride queue but I literally walked on as a solo.

Agree 💯 percent ❤
Personally, having waited in line for over hour. Not worth it. Just my opinion. Maybe I was expecting a lot more idk.

Nice video. Dinosaur is so scary that, the one time I did it (19 years ago) I swore never again.

Animal kingdom need more rides(notice i didn't say rethemes😅). Same with Hollywood studios
Agreed
Both are half day parks

It’d have to be the children. The Na’vi are ten feet tall! Maybe puppets for the adult accompanying the children.

As a cast member who had to sometimes sell the drinks in the queue of Navi River I agree that the gueue is insanely bland

1. Expedition Everest
2. Kilimanjaro Safaris

7. Triceratop spin

First! And personally I love the pandora flight of passage
With the “not ride back to back” thing, I uhh, I rode Everest 27 times one day back to back to back. 😂
And I know not everyone gets motion sickness so I know others may not be able to do that due to their motion sickness
I love Everest because of how easy it is to ride over and over
I remember riding Dinosaur. Two little girls, who sat in our car, were terrified. I felt so bad for them. 😞

Flight of passage was good but it gave me neck and head pain unfortunately when I went last year.
I could've sworn Rafikis planet watch was closing down, or am I imagining that?
How about one on navigating the parks when it rains ? 🌧
Or perhaps you already made one i just havent discovered it.

TriceraTop Spin is far better than Navi River.
I got really sick on Avatar-wish I didn't. My mom was creeped out by A Bug's Life.

It is falling apart it needs a refurbishment but I hope they keep it

Seriously, Dinosaur? That ride is one of the worst in any of the parks. Na'vi River Journey easily beats Dinosaur.
we went on dinosaur and i was not prepared for it
