Limbus' gacha system is very generous, and the gameplay part genius. It's fast, but there is certainly strategy and preparation involved, ranging from what E.G.O goes well with what identity, to what kind of chains you can create and what resource you must gather in battle. You can also, in a pinch, try and cause E.G.O corrosion to let your sinner turn into an one-man-army (with risk of targeting allies if they are alive).
So yes, as you can see, Limbus did get me quite excited since it's announcement, and you should try it, it's free after all!
How do you know it’s generous? Have they shared the pity and rates anywhere? Im genuinely curious to know
@@LunaaBluee The E.G.O you get is taken out of the pulls, meaning you won't get the same E.G.O twice. Identities are a little different, if you pull them twice, you get E.G.O shards from them, which you can exchange in the shop for specific E.G.O or identities, which you can farm in the daily dungeon! Although the rates are not yet confirmed sadly.

Edit: Not to mention that there's no limited E.G.O, the exclusive battle pass E.G.O is obtainable in the free row and is available in the shop after 3 or so seasons.
E.G.O corrusion I'm definitely looking forward to for the sole fact that I could potentially play SOLO runs with my favorite characters. In the few instances where other gacha games let you do this, it tends to be my most memorable moments.
@@GreyReBl I also just love some of the animations from the corrosion versions, the fact they made 2 entirely different animations for one set of E.G.O just shows how much they care. But yeah, the solo strats will definitely be in my list of things to check out!
Something I want to note about the game being a gacha, the primary purpose of the game is to act as a financial backbone to the entire series. Given the quality of work put into both Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina and comparing that to their prices, this is easily believable, especially when coupled with the fact that Project Moon are planning to start branching out from the primary games pretty soon, like the continuation of Distortion Detective.
I mean, Distortion Detective is gonna get turned into a game right?

-Reroll system through tutorial skip
-Crafting system to get whatever
Identity or EGO you want, said currency
to craft them is farmable.
-Battle Pass giving out a Literal Boat
worth of materials including gacha pull
currencies, Crafting materials to just
Select the ID you want, and upgrade
mats.
-EGO gacha has No dupes and doesn't
have Spooks means you can empty out
the EGO list.
- ID gacha has no forced dupe upgrade
system and instead uses said farmable
currency to build the ID you want or Star
Up an ID.
-Star Up only goes to 3 tiers, meaning
grind isn't too heavy compared to some
gachas.
Like this sort of gacha is so generous
with what it offers that unless the
material is an absolute pain to farm or
the rates are abysmally low, I can barely
even see it as a gacha.
Project moon just really cares about their players I suppose, Which is why I will whale this game without shame, because whaling to them is spending at most 100 dollars per banner

Yeah! Limbus Company doesn’t have that much of a connection with the other two games. However, Library of Ruina /is/ a sequel to Lobotomy Corp and Limbus Company does explore some aspects that come from Library of Ruina
If anything, read Leviathan, it’s a novel that takes place before the events of Limbus
Sadly Leviathan is not completelly translated due to the work on Limbus, but WonderLab (That takes place during the end of Lobotomy Corp) is also good (It's not as lore relevant as Leviathan, but you're basically visiting place like where WonderLab was to get the Golden Bough)

Limbus is a cash grab, they've mentioned they made it a gacha so they could get a steady source of income for their other games. However, by gacha standards it might be just fine lmao

While I’ll wait for release to drop any definitive judgement, Limbus doesn’t feel like a simple “cash grab”. The only thing that concerns me is the battle pass, as the gacha system seems less predatory than many others. Mainly being able buy units straight up with Shards, which you can get without rolling on the gacha at all, by playing the daily Mirror Dungeons. Now, this can still go bad depending on the rate you earn Shards and how much identities and EGO cost. If they’ve they’ve got normal pity on top there’s a solid safety net there.
As for the battle pass, I will still fear for months after the release of it getting more predatory. Exclusives and FOMO will never really be ethical in the first place.
All of this is said under the assumption that currency gain is not extremely drip-fed and requiring you to no-life and never skip a daily.

(I'm aware that's not really the colloquial use of the term "cash grab" but here PM is literally grabbing for cash with the game and it is really funny to me that they were so transparent about it)
@@overtoast1105 The fact that were were so transparent about it combined with the current described system is actually a good thing. They're not trying to sugar-coat it and sell it as anything but what it is. A live service game made to make money.
Usually the only way to get companies to admit something like that is AFTER they've gotten a bunch of whales and implement more and more predatory practices until those whales leave. In which case they try to get their cash cows back or pull out entirely by doing a big money squeeze before shutdown.
