I'm singing this one to myself from a coupla years ago, when I released an indie game that vanished beneath the waves. I'm still immensely proud of what we made from scratch, and all the incredible things we put into it, but damn, idealistic me fell down hard when it was played (and loved) by just a handful of people, which meant we had to rethink how our studio could continue. This song is one I've sung for years, but in those months after the game's launch, it gave me a new kind of solace. So now I sing it for past me, and the parts that are still healing. We keep making. We keep doing. Because it's better to be a loser than a spectator.
Go watch Garfunkel and Oates. Those are some damn fine, funny ladies, and I love them to bits.
