But her early transitions were excellent. Notice she NEVER missed an interval jump from high notes to low notes and up again, just incredible vocal control which Floor has always had. And the last stanza with her powerful straight posture, her arms outstretched and the vocal power she projects over the mass of people is truly wonderful.
The Queen of Symphonic Metal rules!!!

The vocals are out of this world, but she doesn't even have to sing! She could easily just stand there doing nothing, and everybody would stare at her hypnotized, she's unbelievably breathtaking.

Just the way the song was written and composed. She can power through vocal acrobatics when she needs to no problem. Even a Formula 1 racecar lets off the gas occasionally.

This song is by far the most difficult for Floor to sing So many words to fit in by the notes. She does a tremendes job..and the ending is all goosebumps for me. Nightwish is master class. Thanks for the reaction.

Eugene Shoemaker, the only human whose partial remains (ashes) are on the moon. Also, it took me a couple of listens before I liked this song. I came to appreciate the dexterity it took to perform it.

I think the muted first part enables more of an impact for the last part. Clever and considered artistry. Amazing song. Thank you for the reaction 😁💚

    Explanation:
Eugene Shoemaker was a geologist and founder of modern planetary science. He studied craters on Earth and on the moon and realized that they were created by asteroid impacts. Shoemaker was the lead geology researcher for Apollo missions, and he also helped train the Apollo astronauts who went to the moon. He himself was a candidate for an Apollo Moon flight, but was disqualified after being diagnosed with Addison's disease. Later in life, he said, "Not going to the moon and hitting it with my own hammer has been the biggest disappointment in life."
Schoenmaker spent much of his later years searching for undiscovered impact craters around the world. He died on July 18, 1997 in a car accident in Australia, where he studied craters.
In recognition of his scientific achievements, part of his ash was brought to the moon by the Lunar Prospector spacecraft in 1999. His final resting place is close to the moon's south pole, in the Shoemaker crater named after him.
The shoemaker's urn was engraved with a quote from Romeo and Juliet:
    "And when he will die...
Unpack it and cut it out into small asterisks
And he will make the face of heaven so beautiful
That the whole world will be in love with the night
And don't show worship to the bright sun."
He is the only man buried on a celestial body other than earth. After his death, he was finally able to go where he always wanted to be.
    Greetings from the Netherlands.

,,Tuomas, when can i breathe?!!'' , Floor said when he showed them the song for the first time. That explaines a lot, certainly when you consider that they thought this composition was't possibel to do live.. and then came the lock down et cetera.

I don't think your comment about the lyrics was too critical, but I do feel it was perfect timing that as you paused to make the comment, the powerhouse vocals were just on the horizon.

The difference with other concerts like Wacken is that Hellfest is live and directly streamed while the festival is responsible for the sound. In Wacken, Wembley, Tampere and others the visuals, sound and mix are fully under Nightwish control and Tuomas knows how to get it right. BTW watch the official Shoemaker video ending with a earthset followed by a sunset seen from Shoemakers last resting place on the moon!

If it weren't for the wonderful finale that starts with the Shakespeare quote to then ascend to the heavens with Floor's stellar "Laudato Si", this song would never have made it to my top-10 NW tracks. Hoped that with time, the first part would grow on me but alas. Floor can pull off anything thrown at her, and I seriously think that this incredible luxury may have been somewhat of a trap.
I know Tuomas wanted to "challenge" Floor. Challenge met with flying colours of course. But lyrics and melody just don't jive. The unnatural sounding accents Floor has to apply just to make it all fit takes away from the flow. Like thinking out loud while trying to play the piano. Very hard to get into a groove that way.
Floor has been prone to forget parts of her lines, particularly with this song and in this part. I can totally imagine why. I'd like to forget all abt that forced first half, haha. But then again, it may be precisely why the second part shines all the brighter. So ty for your honest reaction, which clearly resonated with me. Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘

Judas Priest, Heading out to the highway, might be a good follow on from this.
What strikes me about this lady is that equally she could easily be an opera singer. She could go down many different avenues and so could the band. It'll be interesting to see where they go, further down the road as their career path progresses

Hi Hanier Family. Nightwish fan and subscriber here for you. I also had that feeling about the first part until I had listened to it several times and saw how the first part is designed to set up the last two sections. I'm glad you two are stepping out to sample some of the incredible performances they have done during their 2022 Human | Nature world tour. The fully remastered video and audio from their nighttime concert at the Deichbrand 2022 festival is beautiful to behold and to hear (thank you to Remastercide for the incredible quality). It's simply that Hellfest was live streamed and therefore Nightwish's sound engineers couldn't get to it. Having said that - trying to sing those lyrics to the notes is extremely difficult for this particular song. If you have some spare time, watch the official video or the 'Deichbrand' Festival instead. Take good care of yourselves 😃
