Mate, you are what we call a diamond geezer! Your videos help a novice like me in so many ways. I'm a plumbing and heating engineer working with nuts and bolts but cars do throw me off a bit. Having the right tools and knowledge is key. My friend and I tried to replace his control arm today and it didn't work. He didn't have replacement bolts and we didn't want to ruin it. Guess what? You know you said the nut closest to the wheel is welded on, I tried to undo it! What an idiot! But, I found your video and now we can do it properly. I'll go through more of your videos because they do cover a lot of what I need to do and I'll do my best to share your channel far and wide for the DIY'er. Thanks again for sharing, you're a very good teacher
1) the weight needs to taken of the spring hence why it was difficult to get the bolt out. 2) use a sharpie for camber nut alignment marks. Not a big wide crayon. 3) vehicle needs to be on its wheels before torqueing down as it will put to much pressure on the bushes leading to premature failure.
Hi thanks for doing this video. I have a 07 ford edge. That needs these pieces replaced. Is the process same as the demonstration on ford focus you done here ?
My brain broke when he lifted the car to relieve the spring pressure instead of lowering the jack further. So simple... why have I never thought of this?
Torque under load? I gave the control arm a few full pumps with the jack to load the suspension when it almost lifted off jack stand. hope Im good ..... OPinions.
I have watched numerous videos of this type of repair, but no one sets up the ride height as directed in the Ford workshop manual, placing a 112mm spacer between the lower arm by the rubber bump stop and the bottom part of the subframe. Why ???
The smaller rear lower control arm bolt that bolts into the rear knuckle near the brake drum keeps spinning and won't come out removed the nut and bolt on the chassis side no problem there , the nut is off and it got soak with about two gallon of WD 40 and the stupid bolt won't come out any suggestions help would be deeply appreciated
+ANDY WAN Thanks for checking us out. If the bolt is stuck in there you may want to attempt to apply some heat in order to loosen it a little bit and you may also want to take a look into using a drill and boring out the bolt and trying to remove it that way.
Camber bolt is speacial and sold as singles. All other mounting bolts are M12 coarse thread. 1.75 × 65mm Flange. ☆I used 70 mm Hex bolt with washer because Flange bolts were sold out
+Anon E. Mouse ricer We do currently have this part available for you but these will not include any kind of additional coils as the assembly unless you are looking for a kit with struts. Let us know if you have any questions!
The one reason that I watched this clip was to see how to align the arm to the hub and bolt. And guess what? The video stopped just before and then BAM you managed to do it off camera. I have to do this on the floor of my garage I do not have a lift...you could have struggled with it on camera Major waste of time....

Serious brand new bolt in that arm no way ! Everyone I have done in the last 18 years has been seized !.
exactly, I came here to see how to remove the seized bolt.
Same here.. Wish the bolts really slide out so easy
Lol just snapped my bolt and came for that exact reason
Every bolt will need cutting on a Focus Mk1
@@nohesit33t34 lmao i snapped my bolt as well how did you get your out?
It must be so nice to work on cars in the south. I would cry tears of joy I'd it were that easy.

This mechanic is awesome! Informative and A great help!!
It is a very dangerous job and it can be fatal.
What a crazy clearance over the wheel! It shouldn't be torqued on the lift
Is it not better practice to put weight on the vehicle before torqueing the bolts so the bushings don't sit under constant torsional load?
Thanks for the vid. I couldn't help but notice the sway bar is absent. Is it only installed on certain vehicles?
Those 18yo bolts are so shiny!! Seriously could you do a job that involves the actual bolts you'd find and how to remove them?

Thank you so much for this video درود بر شما متشکرم اقا
*why was the old arm changed out, looked pretty good*
When do old bolts look like that...mine are corroded tf - need a video about how to do that 😅
What does the rubber pumper do that you mentioned? I noticed mine doesn't have one and have been wondering what the metal nub is on top of it.

excellent explanation ❤❤ thaank you slk much
what if my alignment bolt is stuck and feely rotates but will not come out or even budge

Are these rear parts universal to be used or rear Right or Left wheel for suspension purposes?

How'd you get on
@@donegal2010ablethe factory lol
It’s been 4 years. I hope you have tried 5 gallons of WD 40 as that usually solves my problems. Thanks.
guys, honestly, what is the point to show how to remove 4 common sense bolts, when the actual issue is that those bolt simply dont come out?
My question is; What was the issue or problem that it needed to be replaced in the first place. Anybody. Thank you.
You cueatex: no rear sway bar and the outer bolt was not rusted solid to the arm bushing.
THANK YOU!!!!!
do you not use copper grease bolts so next time it is easy to take off, by the way cool video. from London .UK
@@frankiejamescollins He's talking about anti-seize.
That bolt you marked is for toe or camber adjustment? Thanks.
Camber adjustment
Nice movie. All your movie is very good. But why the car have rust and you dont fix this.
What is the hardware for replacement?

coulda just put bushings in no other part needed.
2005 rear lower control arm
Does it include those coils too? Idk where to buy them
+Anon E. Mouse ricer Great question! We would be happy to look that up for you. Could you provide your year, make and model?

This model doesn't have a sway bar link attached to the rearward lower control arm. 🙄
11:19, rear driver side is not touching lift point. Hmmm???
Sorry guy, why was it replaced? Old one apears to be in good shape
Why was it replaced? Appears Okay!
Is there any reason why you wouldn't use a coil spring compressor in this situation?
Because you can regulate the tension with a jack
Cos they're a pain in the butt and you really need one of those special macpherson spring compressors to get into the space
Ah, Cheaty McCheaterson here used a car with no rear sway bar so he could skip a step that's rather important for the rest of us.
My 07 has no sway bar🤷♂️

Long pry bar through spring hole worked for me.
