We should have a new law, in which the judges and parole board would go to jail if the perp they free reoffends. Am sick and tired of stories of innocent people losing their lives or raped or battered because a bleeding heart liberal lawyer thinks criminals have more rights than victims 😡

I don't understand why he had to bring colour into his argument about why we should not have a death penalty. Plenty of white people have also been wrongly accused and charged, but he had to use the three black men in his argument. He could have simply said that he does not agree with the death penalty because he's seen people wrongly convicted in the past in his profession.

2 points about the death penalty. 1. It is not just a deterrent. It's also about reinforcing the need for justice. 2. As the KC implied, DNA evidence has made it much more unlikely that an innocent will get wrongly convicted, and it should only come into play where there has been irrefutable evidence produced such as DNA. The KC is basing his arguments in an era when there was no DNA profiling, so his precedent is no longer valid.

    • @mattsmith87

I've never thought psychopaths could be rehabilitated - and still don't. I have long thought the fact that Venables being only 10 misses the point, as far as his punishment was concerned. The point, surely, is that, if someone can be a psychopath at 10, and be capable of murder, then the law should treat them the same as they would any adult with the same mentality. i.e. with a life sentence. Otherwise, whenever that psychopath is released, he / she will still be a danger to the public and can always do it again.

Duh, could that be because there aren’t any defenceless two-year-olds in prison. You think?

A further discussion would be, why was DB shoplifting that day and left her son to roam, she was renowned in the shopping centre for this behaviour and RB was a local drug dealer. I was in the Strand that day , in the butchers when JB went missing . Max Clifford covered this up to an inch of their lives. DB is worth a lot of money and RB is silenced. Just my opinion guys.

Why are you bringing that up??? If it hadnt been Jamie theyd have got hold of some other poor child they could batter , torture and kill. Leave the e ffing mum out of it.

@@Britannia. Free speech and my experience on that day. It is a difficult subject, they were both responsible in some way, whether you like it or not. Parental responsibility but they were glorified in the MSM as the perfect parents. When simply the mother was a shoplifter, neglecting her child and the father was a drug dealer. Did JB deserve to die, NO, would JB have got killed if the parents payed more attention, NO ... Like I said I was there that day, spent many a year in bootle strand, knew staff and security and DB was a POS . That child died because of them . Do you have a child and would you leave a baby outside the shop whilst your shoving meat down your coat ? Jog on......

I thought he was already out. Last year, I threatened to out a guy that his real name is Jon Venables. He is about the same age, and nobody knows what Venables looks like. This curbed his behaviour.

thomson the other disgusting murderer and torturer is out enjoying his life , why hasnt nobody recognised him and given him his just desserts . The ones that give the 2 of them their own torture & death penalty will be hero's to the public.
