Jon Venables: “How's That Not EVIL?” Jeremy Kyle’s CLASH Over Future Rehabilitation For Child Killer

- Child killer Jon Venables has lost a Parole Board bid to be freed from jail.
The 41-year-old, who tortured and murdered two-year-old James Bulger in 1993, still poses a danger to children and could go on to offend again, the Parole Board concluded.
The body’s decision, published on Wednesday, said: “After considering the circumstances of his offending, the progress made while in custody and on licence, and the evidence presented in the dossier, the panel was not satisfied that release at this point would be safe for the protection of the public.”
The panel of parole judges “doubted Mr Venables’ ability to be open and honest with professionals, and concluded that there remained a need for him to address outstanding levels of risk”, it added.

Robert Thompson was able to develop into a more empathetic human being who showed a lot remorse for his behaviour towards the parents of Jamie. Unlike John who is obviously a danger to children
Prison is basically a place for them to be rehabilitated. It’s funny how his friend kept his nose clean!
If ever anyone starts feeling any kind of sympathy for this pair, re-remind yourself of what they inflicted on little James. No normal person regardless of age would ever have undertaken such brutality against a helpless baby. RIP James, never forgotten.
One thing that I would say is in this case, it looks like one of the 10 year olds (Venables) was the one who instigator. Not making excuses for Thompson either, I think although he has proven he can live peacefully in society. He will always live and be haunted by what he done to that poor helpless little boy.
@@DS-zy4gs With the benefit of hindsight in what we now know of JV he is likely to have been the main instigator I agree. Back then they thought it was RT as he didn't exhibit emotions as much as JV in the interviews. Some considered the lack of emotions as classic traits of psychopathy. We'll never know and I would take with a pinch of salt whether his rehabilitation has made him truly remorseful. He is academically brighter as a result of his time in detention, being given opportunities in education. He acknowledged this in a statement before his 2001 release. He also said he was sorry for what he had done. They were both trained to lie to avoid exposing their real identities too. He would need empathy to be haunted by his actions so again I remain doubtful.

You have people who killed not one but two children as full grown adults getting not one but two more chances. Colin Pitchfork is getting parole again after killing and raping two fifteen year olds after he got parole a few years ago and was recalled. Ian Huntley might get parole at some point so I guess if people who kill kids as full grown adults get parole then why not people who killed one child when they were 10 before they even did SATs.

All in all, Bulger sustained 42 injuries to his face, head, and body. He was so badly battered, authorities later concluded, that there was no way to tell which injury represented the fatal blow

My Uncle was once a police inspector who worked on the Bulger case. He says there are a lot of things that were not released to the public about what happened to James because they were too horrific. It’s always stuck with me, if what was released turned my stomach what on earth could they have done that could not be released? It’s insane to think that two ten year old boys could have thought of such things.
I know of some of the things they did ( I best say allegedly as it was never officially revealed ) …Involving batteries inserted, … genital trauma…both defendants previously abused animals (allegedly, to be safe from libel/slander ).
Going on 30 years …my main support is for the poor parents… all of them.
My children were born in 1991, & 1993… my heart goes out to Denise and Ralph, be assured, some of us never forget this case.
They did exactly that , batteries and other objects. They tortured that baby in many ways violent and sexual. My comment just got removed from this post so I'm posting it again in less detail. I just though everyone has the right to know the full story so they can make a real decision on how they feel. My dad was close friends with a firefighter who was first on the scene with the police and paramedics, he quit his job because he was told not to talk about the severity of it .

He wrote an objective account of the murder called The Sleep of Reason. He spent a lot of time with Ann Thompson during his research in 1993 between the murder and trial and sees it as a tragedy for three families. He's trying to retain impartiality as a journalist otherwise he would end up contradicting the words of his book. I don't agree with most of his views with regards to the justice system. It hasn't worked in favour of James's family and certainly hasn't provided the support they deserve, pandering instead to that pair.

Those 2 monsters should never ever have been released from prison in the first place. They put little James through a horrific and totally unnecessary ordeal of frightening torture and murder. To me that warrants an immediate whole life sentence. Doesn’t matter if they were 10 or not.

Just because the other killers is out doesn't mean hes suddenly became john boy Walton. He might be fantasising over all sorts, he may even be exhibiting odd or dangerous behaviour privately and he's smart enough to keep it hidden from those who check up on him. Neither of them should have been considered for release ever.
I agree, RT is smarter and has kept his head down. I'm doubtful he has any genuine remorse for his part in James's murder contrary to what he said in his parole statement upon release. JV on the other hand is a loose canon and his reoffending couldn't be contained by the authorities protecting him. Should both have continued to adult prison as they were never actually punished for what they did.

Because it’s the responsibility of the prison service to keep all prisoners safe , so I would imagine he’s in a wing with other vulnerable prisoners and probably in solitary confinement .

My heart breaks about this case, it’s been allowed to be opened up several times. I accept that they were evil. They planned and acted out their thoughts and actions and killed a helpless toddler. Millions of pounds have been made from this. If justice had have been served differently we wouldn’t be re opening this painful story for the poor family to go through again.

I’m the same age as these lads. When it was on the news I cried hearing poor James was killed. I couldn’t understand why they did it. How they could do it. Years later as an adult the things they did to that poor boy. It’s sickening.
When I was asked my parents what would I do if I found a lost kid I told them I’d stay with them and hold their hand until we either found the parents and make sure it was their parents or take them into a shop find a grown up and stay with them til them til either the parents or police came.

Even a guy that looked after him in detention said that if you’d had to of guessed which young offender had murdered James in that place, he’d have been the last one you would have guessed. You gotta understand that he was from a family of 7 older brothers that were all involved in criminal activity, no father and a mother with a drink problem that couldn’t cope and allowed him to stay out until 1am. When raised in that environment almost any 10 year old is gonna be hard faced and streetwise. I watched a documentary about Thompson and Venables after their conviction and it seems they had a pretty cushy life while in juvenile detention. If memory serves me correctly, their life in juvenile detention was a heck of a lot better than their life on the outside. Day trips off site and awesome facilities within the center. I believe it was Thompson who told another juvenile, 'Do you know who I am?' It is almost as though he thrived on the notoriety of his offense. My heart breaks for Denise and Ralph, I do not think I could go another day knowing what those two did and, in Venables case, got opportunity after opportunity to rehabilitate and did not.

I agree with JV having his identity revealed. RT has shown that he can build a normal life. I can't say he deserves a normal life but he deserves the prospect of rehabilitation which he has proven he is capable of. Secondly revealing their identities is a bit of double edged sword, while JV and RT would suffer because of it there's the likely possibility of them being murdered which in turn means someone else would've had to destroy their own life to achieve this goal.

I used knock on doors for a living (long time ago), when knocking this estate once, there was a burned out house, when i asked what happened, they said the guy who lived there had abused 2 kids, the locals got together and burned his house down, they thought he was in it on bail, he wasn't at the time.

It was James. The press reported him as “Jamie” back when he was first killed and a lot of people still make that mistake. Denise has stated that the family never called him Jamie.

The filth Venables should not see the light of day for the rest of it's miserable life. I can only assume Thompson has managed to remain out of serious trouble, although we can only speculate as to any possible indiscretions of his which the parole board would have been falling over themselves to cover up. They should have been told, even at the age of 10, due to the nature of their terrible crime that they would be spending the rest of their lives in prison. Instead, it was Denise and Ralph who ended up serving a life sentence of terrible grief while trying to deal with the loss of their innocent son. All the misguided do-gooders couldn't do enough to give these 2 rotten to the core apples every opportunity. New identities, holidays and god knows what else. At least the British justice system has managed to make the right decision here in not letting this monster out of prison.

Unfortunately a lot of the country just saw what were fairly censored news reports compared to the reality that was horrific. Most serial killers were disturbed children so how you rehabilitate such evil is beyond me. What's frightening is due to being protected Thompson could be out there with his own family and yet it could well be that none of them know who he is.
It was revealed in 2010 that Thompson was living with a male lover and hadn’t reoffended, that is the main reason why you don’t hear of him.

Venables wasn't abused, he had a stable family. Thompson was abused by his father and hasnt reoffended. Venables is just... born wrong.

I don't think Venables will ever no longer be a threat to society. He has shown numerous of times that he has a sexual preference to children which he cannot control. He could also have many more victims which we aren't aware of - I'm thinking fellow prisoners from his time in jail with them.
To my view, this sad case has a ground : Lord Woolf's disgraceful decision to release Thompson and Venables after only 8-year imprisonment !! None of them showed remorse about their horrific crime during this period ! And their jail conditions were disgraceful as they lived in a pampered atmosphere. I remember a newspaper article when an young inmate punched Venables for laughing about James Bulger's murder.
They'd have been less outrage if they were sentenced to 15-20 year-imprisonment.

Yes one of the murders is out and hasn’t reoffended doesn’t mean he deserves to be out and possible he’s still doing something illegal just not been caught. As for Jon he’s been caught so 100% definitely should never be free. At 10 you know right from wrong you know when someone dies they never get better or come back to life it’s not like you can think killing a kid is a game at that age.

Ohhhh I've seen that turkey before he's been on documentaries about this case. He absolutely refuses to believe that Thompson and Venables are or were evil saying that the issue lies completely in they're backgrounds. I'm telling you now, there's a reason this case is isolated from being a regular occurrence and it lies with those two sob's. Plenty of children have similar backgrounds and they don't take, torture, and slaughter a two year old baby because if they did then we would continue to hear about it happening. They were never punished. They were put in sheltered accommodation which was a far superior environment from the homes they had left. Thompson completed a degree while there. I think they were even let out for day trips.
