This made the memories come flooding back. Late 50's early 60's imagine 200 kids aged from 6 to 16, May and August school holidays Methodist Youth Camps at Grevillea, Kuranda. We did this hike every camp, maybe a dozen leaders. The thing is we thought nothing of it, the swim at the bottom was always welcome. So too the walk down the rail line to Stony Creek Falls through the tunnels and then the climb to the top of the falls. Another amazing place for swimming, huge boulders and crystal clear pools. I was truly blessed. W lived at Eubenangee at the time and went to Babinda State School on the rail motor.
When was this taken? Tha falls were most spectacular after cyclones Larry and Monica. There is also a nice short hike from the power station up to Stony Creek (a nice swimming hole).
Cheers mate. Just walk down to the main lookout then simply walk along the train tracks until you get to a little track. Blink and you’ll miss it but it’s roughly about 50m past the face of the falls 👍🏻
Safe to say this is the greatest short hike in Australia! Hands down the best video I’ve made to date. Hope you all really enjoy this one. Peace out ✌️
Your video always lets you see a new side of Cairns.
I'm looking forward to these videos.Thank you.

Some awesome footage here. Any chance I can use/buy a 6 second clip of drone footage of the falls, for a video I'm making?
