Hi, l always pick up more stitches under the arms. Then l decrease the extra stitches over the next few rows. You can always sew up the holes under the arms to make it cleaner finish. Thank you for your blog. The cake looks lovely. X

How I love to watch your vlog, so relaxing and full of inspiration for recipes. I too am new to knitting in the round, which has been life changing for me, no seams to sew up. I also found I had some unwanted holes under the arms and tried to pick up double strand stitches. I then used the cast on tail of yarn to sew them up and am not too unhappy with the result. The Whitmore sweater is gorgeous and is going to be my next project and I too like Drops Yarns . I try to avoid polyester type yarn, except for blankets which need to go in the washing machine and choose pure wool where possible. Looking forward to the next vlog, thank you. ❤

I buy the soaked fruit in brandy so it is very moist. I'll send you the recipe if you would like it? Your beautiful Whitmore is looking fabulous. I love the colour. ❤
Hi Belinda! I've heard several podcasters say, after they knit the Whitmore cardigan, that they wouldn't have bothered using the smaller needles for the button band... Just keep on using the needle you were using for the body. It's next on my list so that's what i plan to do.
I’ve made three whitmore cardigans, the one I made using the same needles as body did not look as neat, it definitely looks better using smaller needles as Amy suggests. You usually use smaller needles on button bands etc when you knit flat so this is no different but it’s everyone’s choice and I can only say from my own experience it’s worth the effort to knit with the dpns on the bands. Hi Belinda, I'm exactly the same when it comes to picking up the stitches under the arm...I know no one will see it but it really bothers me if there are holes! I usually pick up a couple of extra stitches between the sleeve stitches you've had on hold and the ones you pick up for the underarm. Make sure you're picking up stitches and not the bars between stitches (the bars will give you holes are you're effectively creating a yarn over if you pick those up). Sometimes I pick up from the row below if it looks like it'll close the gap better and I find knitting into the back of the extra stitches helps close everything up. Then I just decrease them on the next round. And if all else fails and I've still got holes when I've finished I just use the ends I need to weave in at the underarm to fudge it a bit and fill any gaps. I find it gets easier with practice. Hope that helps...it's a bit longwinded 😂 Really enjoy watching your vlogs. Lots of love, Lyndsey ❤
