As punishment, Ben needs to do all of the ones the boys got right, but blindfolded.

@SortedFood Thinking back to one of the US trips, another great one would be meatballs, you did cured meats but just straight seared ground meat, bison, boar, etc

I cannot say how much I loved the 4th wall breaking with Jamie, making it obvious that the team even anticipated the reactions of the community. Very well done boys!
I'd love to see a fruit preserves episode of this. maybe between Kush and Ebbers? throw in some curveballs like Cornelian Cherry and Hagberry along with some more common ones like redcurrant, blackcurrant, strawberry, etc (and maybe toss in a couple different marmalades, like a ginger and citron one alongside the seville orange?)

Gotta have grape, too. Incredibly common in the US but the boys may never have had it.
I've recently tried an absolutely wonderful pineapple jelly and I highly recommend giving it a try if you do end up doing jellies/jams/preserves! Also guava jelly is another great choice, the stuff is amazing and I can't understand why it isn't more popular or widely used.
There's even a banana jelly, which I honestly never knew existed, and I wanna try it SO bad, I think it's going to be the next I try out!

The fact that Jamie failed to identify the rum *twice* tells me that either he really should have gotten a palette cleanser, or that you were using a really atypical rum. I mean, it's probably got the single most characteristic flavour out of all the destilled spirits.
They mention later that it's aged in Whisky barrels so has Whisky notes, it wasn't really a fair one to use when it's supposed to taste like Whisky somewhat. Mount Gay Rum
@@User-Ryan135 i think the other aspect is that they were all alchols that they have used in videos before.. so maybe the unique nature of that Rum was meant to trigger a particular memory?
I've tried many types and brands of whisky and rum, there can be certain types with very similar taste profile.
He might mainly drink spiced rum and I don't think Mount Gay is spiced - so that might have thrown him off.
yeah, though i feel they should have distinguished brandy from whisky too. but rum 100% has that multi-faceted sugars taste, almost adhesive quality, because of more complex sugars from the cane.

As someone whose favourite liqueur is Creme de Menthe - I am horribly disappointed that they couldn't look at a green liqueur and automatically know what it was! I was screaming when Barry said Vermouth! 😂
Me too! The colour and smell are unmistakable.
I'll give Jamie half a pass for being colour blind ... but he should have gotten it by smell.
It does look very similar to midori, a melon liquer. That would have been my guess on looks, but smell surely should have confirmed creme de menthe with the pepermint!
It was also in their fridge where they used to do their openings in for years, Same bottle with dark green liquid and a label that clearly said crème de menthe. Was the very first thing i spotted in this video and inmediatly knew the exact bottle used to pour that glass
Make them guess the flavour of condiments. And for this I recommend the Dutch Joppiesaus or the German Curry Gewurz to be thrown in as well.

if it's condiments, i suggest to put sriracha, ginger sauce, plum sauce, hoisin, bagoong, sambal, knorr liquid seasoning

This was too funny 🤣🤣🤣, Would love to see you do a remote control pass it on, where the person in the kitchen can't do anything until they are told. e.g. Ben controlling Jamie in turning on hobs and what to cook. Each go is 15 mins and last 5 mins the controller is blindfolded for plating.
This series could really do with an experts round, get in a expert from each area like a cocktail bartender here and see how many they can guess.
I humbly volunteer my 12 years bartending experience to put the worlds to right on this booze round 🤣

I looked at the green glass and immediately thought Absinthe. I don't think I would've gotten a lot of them right, but I am also surprised that Ben got the math wrong. I LOVED everything from 5:13 to 5:21 - Barry nudging Jamie, Jamie guessing so confidently, Ben sounding almost offended that Jamie got it wrong, Barry squealing, Jamie's face falling, and the laughter in the background 😋😋
You guys should run a pop up gastro pub, I’d love to eat and drink and Ebbers Bar! Great food, great drinks and all the innuendos- what more do you want/ need?!

I don’t drink, but I think I would have guessed at least 6 correctly- including the Shaxing (it was a drunken night at uni, I ran out of vodka, got desperate, don’t wanna talk about it lol) I described it at the time as “alcoholic soy sauce flavoured” NOT my finest moment!🤷♀️😅😂

I can't believe that they could not recognize creme de menthe after tasting it :D Looking at it I knew it is either that or Midori, but there is such a huge difference in taste I can't imagine that they could not get it :D I know, it sometimes comes clear, not this bright green, but come oooon! :D
