Listen to that bass growl!!! FABULOUS! Expertly played, once again, Robert!
I found a 1990 Baldwin L in similar condition to this one. The tone is wonderful. The feel is a solid medium, firm and responsive. It's one of the best pianos I've ever played.
The Baldwin grand... model: L has always been one of my very-very favorite pianos! They are truly SUPURB!!
The sound is deep and mellow, much like the Baldwins from the pre-W.W. II era.
Beautiful Baldwin, wonderfully played!! Thank you very much Robert Estrin!
Wow! Incredible piano and performance! I completely enjoyed this video. Maybe the best I’ve heard you sound.
Awesome piano, and great playing!
Such a big sound!
Wow. Great piano, great playing. I bow to you sir for tackling the Scriabin.
Fantastic playing, Robert! Great piano! I especially enjoyed the Scriabin! Thank you!
Another beautiful piano. Thanks for the mini concert. Great to hear Scriabin.
Bravo you finally made the Skrjabin! Respectable performance
Good job. Keep up the good work.
I'm a picky musician but I love how you play so I would love to hear full recordings of yours and I'm sure you'll pick the most optimal piano for every piece so that's something different compared to other famous musicians.
that Scriabin piece is still wonderful.
Great to hear the Scriabin nice work of it, wonderful piano, I love 90s Baldwins , begs for Brahms as well, op 79 rhapsodies would sound great on that L ! :)
Wonderful! What a find. Scriabin certainly wasn't afraid of overtones, was he? Good piano choice to 'handle' that - esp. near the end.
Is a Steinway worth 2 - 4 times the price?
NO!
Would you mind visually describing this piano? I am totally blind. Please describe to me what this particular piano looks like.
Encore. Encore! Oh wait... too late
I admit that I might have been (might be) brainwashed. Because I always thought that Baldwin was an inferior piano as compared to a Steinway. And whenever I played a Baldwin, I always thought that, indeed, it wasn't as good as whatever Steinways I played (at school and other places). To me, it never had the feel and sound of a Steinway. All the great pianists I saw were also playing a Steinway, so that probably affected my thinking as well. // Nice effort on that most difficult Scriabin piece which I feel Horowitz owns.
