Background music by the legendary Hideki Naganuma for the Jet Set Radio soundtracks
Parannoul is a South Korean artist that likes to keep stay anonymous. Very similar to another Korean artist we know on this channel known as Mid-Air Thief. To See the Next Part of the Dream, however, is nothing like Crumbling by Mid-Air Thief. This shoegaze album is full of amazing tracks that are filled with distorted guitars, emotional vocals and amazing drums. Some great tracks off this album are Beautiful World, White Ceiling, and Analog Sentimentalism.
Black Country, New Road is a band from London England and For the First Time is their debut album. Featuring amazing tracks like Athens, France. Sunglasses and Science Fair. This band definitely made their mark with this debut.
Black Midi is also a band from London England and this is their sophomore album. Much like their debut, Of Schlagenheim, Cavalcade is full of twists and turns. Some great tracks on this album are John L. Diamond Stuff and Dethroned.

Literally just listened to the Parannoul record the other day, definitely a AOTY contender for me. Plus, White Ceiling is one of the most breathtaking songs I’ve ever heard

      @@KyleReidMu i will!
And actually, I released my first album this year aswell: "The Library Of Babel".
It's inspired by an insane japanese album: Saijiki by 3776. That album lasts a full year, but scaled so that each day lasts 12 seconds, so that each song, representing a month is 29, 30 or 31 times 12 seconds long. (Exactly 5:48/ 6:00 / 6:12)
I did the same with last years april-december; 9 months which i treated as my own pregnancy of the album. That was also a deadline for myself, for it not to become misscarriage.
In my album influences can hopefully be heard from fave artists like Mid-Air Thief, Jpegmafia and Radiohead. I'm super proud of it (it's literally like my baby), but i havent spent much time in promotion yet, since I'm still studying composotion&music production myself. It's quite exprimental, but the concept gave me the freedom to do whatever felt right to me.
And it just so happened to be born on the 5th of february aswell, just like For The First Time (that i also still need to check out)
Sorry for brambling on about it for so long, but I really think you'd enjoy it. I'd love to hear what you'd think of it, as i think it could be down your alley!

Parannoul recorded the album using vst guitars. From his interviews he felt very insecure about it which i think is absurd because that was one uniqueness he had over other shoegaze music tbh

The Parannoul is a perfect example of what 5th wave emo should be. Plus it takes such heavy inspiration from Come in so that is a huge win. Def AOTY contender

I served a mission in South Korea, so I'm automatically biased toward any Korean music that isn't K-pop. Parannoul and Mid-air Thief are some of the best. Also check out Sister's Barbershop, specifically their track Most Ordinary World

I think it's still a little too early to tell for me, but I don't really see any other project beating Ants From Up There. FTFT was my favorite from last year and I have a feeling that Ants will be my favorite from this year. I'm curious to see where they take their sound from here especially since Isaac left
