- Hello, friends! Welcome back to my channel One Blessed Mess for this video on our simple homeschooling reward system! We utilize toy money and lots of Dollar Spot goodies to help keep our kids motivated and reading! ❤
If you are new here, hi and welcome! I'm Christie, and I'm a 2nd year homeschooling mom to 4 kids (ages 9, 8, 6, and almost 2) with one due in November. My husband and I pulled our kids out of public school last year, moved to our new house in the country, and haven't looked back! IT IS CRAZY! We do the exact same thing!!! We just have a box, I pull out everything every Friday and it gets very old putting it out everytime. I love the shoe organizer idea!

I started a reward system like this recently too! My daughter picks out something at $1Tree or Dollar Spot and then she knows she is saving for it. There are other options too like 1 extra hour of TV and a few other things. She loves it! ♥️👍🏻

This is such a great idea! We have dabbled with reward systems in the past and it seems to really be effective. What’s tough is when they expect a reward for doing something nice. How do you guys handle when and when not to give a reward? For example if they just did something kind because they wanted a reward. Thanks again for this video! Super helpful 💛
I can ALWAYS tell when there are ulterior motives! I have tried to explain to them that it is a heart issue that we do nice things for people without an expectation of return. I try to catch more organic acts of kindness, and it's a very sporadic thing! I tend to stick to more concrete goals like reading & staying on task while emphasizing the important of being selfless, if that makes sense!
