Love your coverage of the music scene in India. I especially love the concentration on metal. I like all sorts of music, and am a big fan of Carnatic music, but I'm also a metal fan from my school daze. Even at 56, I still love discovering new metal. Thanks for all your videos! Looking forward to your next installment.
Karl, we met in Bangalore Open Air. I had suggested to visit my hometown- Shillong, check out the metal scene there and im so glad you did. Our gratitude goes out to you for covering our indigenous culture, landscape, the people and the scene in general. Thanks for putting us in the map. 😊
Rock/ Metal scene was huge in Shillong during the 80s ,90s but somehow with the advent of hip hop and EDM it kinda lost it's popularity..but I'm hoping with shows like these I bet it's gonna be on top again and make Shillong Metal Again🤘🤘
My great grandfather was born in Sylet, which isn't that far away I believe. His father was Welsh and mother ..I can't remember the term used but from the local area..if I recall correctly Khasi..may be wrong. My aunt's inlaws are from Nagaland and I remember when I was in boarding school in Kalimpong with my uncles, we used to go to Guwahati and Shillong and all the area around..I always tell ppl I visited Cheerapunji, the wettest place in the world when I was a kid.
Eternal Scorn and Godless are great bands which I just added to my playlists. Thanks for this video, always nice to see the metal scene in different countries
I have been a death metalhead since my very childhood here in India. But I felt that the metal scene is dying down in India due to lack of interests, a supportive community, and enough time. But kudos to you Karl for showing it up on such a prominent platform with such a diverse viewer base! I hope more and more people get interested into the metal scene in India.
Oh man, the northeast has been on my list for eons. Our country is so very beautiful to state the very least. The festival would have been the icing on the cake. Would love to join you on the next one. Great video as always 😊🙏🏻.
🥹thank you for this vlog! (I'm the guy who had to leave early) I can now experience the other bands through this video! Thanks Karl. Our brief encounter was pretty cool😎🤘🏾
Defeated Sanity is the "German" band that was mentioned and they are absolutely brilliant. Amazing that they're headlining this festival in the mountains of India!! Wish I could have attended!
Thank you@karlrock for bringing this to us. I am from Mauritius with Indian origin. I am a metal fans, and this is the first time I am discovering these bands. India's future is bright in this kinda music. 🤘🤘

I'm khasi bro and monsoon season is not a good season for any open air fest cause the rain is unstoppable here. Too bad this metal fest didn't get to lived up to the hype
