I bought this camera recently, at a steal of a price redurbished, ($689 usd), but had to return it. Lost job😢, and need to eliminate unnecessary spending. It is a terrific photo camera. I'll be looking to repurchase when my situation changes. The grip fit my hand perfectly The battery lasts forever The flip up sreen is wonderful I loved touch shutter function. It had all the customizable buttons I wanted. It's Lightweight and small. Photos and stationary video was spectacularly sharp and colorful! Autofocus was super quick, making the camera "feel" very nimbal. Weathersealed..I shot in a pouring downfall with no problems. Loved the creative style looks, (autum leaves and selective color). This was a great everyday camera! I did have a few gripes though: While IBIS works great for photos, it wasn't very effective in stabilizing handheld video. Also, handheld shakey video could not be stabilized in post using catalyst browse. For burst shooting, I could not resume shooting again after a spell of shots until the buffer completely cleared, (frustrating). And while the camera does have a hotshoe for mounting an external flash, I would have appreciated if it had the popup flash that is present on previous iterations of the a6000 series. In low incandescent light the white balance seemed to over compensate on yellowish hues, even when I customized it, which I found myself correcting in post a lot. I could eat around it, but I didn't need the menu that showed on the screen when adjusting the shutter speed and couldn't figure out how to disable it. Still, I am planning to rebuy the a6600 especially if I can beat the great used/refurbished price. It had a lot of things I value in a camera!
The current crop of Sony DX cameras are quite capable, ie A6400, A6600, & A6700. Personally I find the menu system on these cameras a bit complicated, and so it will take a bit of time to learn to navigate. Also for the A6400 since it uses the smaller NP-FW50 battery have a few extras in your pocket.
Thanks for the video! In regard to the record button...just program thr c1 or c2 button to start and stop recording. Eventually put a red sticker on it, if that helps. 😉
Im looking into buying the 6600 for black friday. I was between the 6600 and the a7iii but i hate how the a7iii has a video record limit, so the 6600 feels like a clear choice, especially since they have almost identical specs. What budget lenses would you recommend for the 6600?
Jes the sony a6600 is a good option As for the lesnes i would say the sigma 16mm f1.4 or the sony 18-105f 3.5 it al depends on on what you want to shoot
Next question: is a 45-year-old Nikon F2 still relevant in 2024. In comparison, the a6600 is still a baby. It is also an exceptional camera. If you haven't done it already, set C2 as your record button and forget that button on the side. It's a pain to use.
Just bought this camera for $1500sgd, if I were to get the updated A6700 that would cost me $2300 so I had to get this as it’s the only one I could find ‘affordable’

Got an amazing deal ,camera body (new) for around 740 USD and paired it with tamron 17-70mm f2.8 (new) which i got around 430 USD
How heavy does the Tamron feel on this small of a body?
that is valid
I had a 18-135 on my camera and it is still compact and mobile
How heavy is it to handle?

Thanks for the info!

I would say the F2 is more of a retro film style of camera ,but not as good as the a6600.Ja I now know about the C2 button
Bro, I still use a a6300 and it’s still holding up definitely better than a phone camera anyways
Ja honestly any camera is better than you're iPhone
are they going to discontinue the after sales service for this?
I think sony has already ceased the production of the 6600
@@Edithq777 its still on sale on Flipkart in India, will they still provide warranty services?

You can set the shutter to trigger movie recording.
I think you can ,somewhere in the settings
yup, its great and its easy to change in settings
Weird. Was pretty sure this camera can record 4K 60fps. Guess my memory wasn't as fresh as it used to be 😂
why do you only have 5000 views 😢
