    My car was using coolant on long trips, and there was bubbles on the radiator, I didn’t have the money to change the head gasket rn soo I just found out about these sealer’s and bought the K seal, drained and clean the whole system put new coolant on it and the k seal, let it idle for 30 minutes, then let it cool for 3 hours, again idle for 30 minutes and cool for the rest of the night, about 10 hours, there’s no bubbles, doesn’t smell like coolant getting burned and doesn’t smell like gasoline on the reservoir.

    Was your car using coolant? If not the smoke you were seeing could have been the crank case ventilation valve. Common fault

    Sounds like your engine has either a loose timing chain or sticky valve lifters.

    Wouldn't use it for a permanent head gasket repair depending on how bad it is and
    where ist blown, but for heater matrix and small leaks this is the best product on
    the market hands down..

      Doesn't seem to handle bad headgasket leaks as I discovered. May handle smaller ones. Another trick I've heard of on some cars is re-torquing the head bolts, which can sometimes work. The Subarus have a very bad issue, as the original Subaru gaskets on some older models have a coating that fails and flakes away over time leading to leaks, best thing to to is replace it with a good quality gasket like Mahle or Felpro which have better coatings that don't do this. Subaru's have 2 headgaskets on the engine which really raises failure possibility unfortunately, that is one down-side of the horizontally opposed engine.

    yeah went out an hour ago and bought it. my biggest problem is with smoke, in take off and reverse. when driving no issue what I can see, so hope it makes a difference. mech wants to change oil separator which is a common fault with this car. but will see how things go next couple days , also heavy oil consumption.

  • @VenturiLife
    @VenturiLife 5 років тому +2

    Worked for me. It contains ceramic microfibres, tiny copper particles and resins. It doesn't contain sodium-silicate which I preferred as I want to re-use the engine when it comes out if possible and didn't want silica glass all over it. I treat them like a temporary measure, although I once had a car repaired the same way using a sodium-silicate copper mix (on a mechanic's recommendation mind you). It may buy you a few weeks or years, but ultimately the gasket / heads will need to be pulled and repaired for longevity. If it's a small leak, and you get it early, you can often fix it with this, get it too late and the warpage / leaks are too extreme then there is no choice and the heads must come off and gasket replaced.
    As the gasket failed I'lll replace the oil/filter, and 2000 km later dump the coolant, and replace it, once the product has done what it can to fix any leaks.

    Follow up to this. Tried it, it lasted maybe a week then the failure mode with the headgasket returned unfortunately, ended up using Bars Leaks Stop-leak for headgaskets and that seemed to fix it. Best to pre-dilute and follow the instructions exactly otherwise.

    hi mate have the same problem to a tea ........... did it stop smoke when taking of from lights ??? thanks

    • @chrisjoneslondonuk1399
      @chrisjoneslondonuk1399  8 років тому +1

      Hi mate. yes It has made a massive improvement and also the car just feels better to drive overall. I've also noticed that the car does not leak water or coolant underneath anymore when I topped up to max the next day. so probably won't be burning through oil as much because it should all be regulating over the next few weeks. In regards to smoke. I have just done a 90 mile drive to really seal it in on day 2. I can honestly say the smoke is so much better with the stop start 1st gear and reversing but not 100% clear yet. also no lights have come up on my dash which I guess indicates a seal. I think the far less smoke I'm still experiencing is due to build up of old stuff making its way out. I'm gonna do another review in a few days or so for a true conclusion but I'll definitely recommend this stuff in your case. Hope this helps. all the best!

      You will never really fix a problem with this stuff - I race E46's in Spain and know these cars backwards. This will not work long term - about town at low revs for a few months perhaps but as soon as you really drive it, you will be back to square one. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Change the head gasket!!!

    Omfg... If someone I know did this to their car... I would go and do a headgasket job for them free of charge... Absolute dumbass move to do this to "fix" a blown head or a headgasket... It is still going to pressurize the coolant system and eventually gonna crack your head. A headgasket job is so easy on those M40, M43, M42, N42, N43 engines. And also this dude has had his oil pressure light come on, so the oilpump must be tired now and has to be changed prematurely. Hope you don't sell this car without telling the new owner about this fix...

      @@lyndonkendrick5242 Sorry cant help you there mate, Im living in Finland. After you get the flush done, drive the car up to operating temp, after that park it, watch for any coolant leaks anywhere in the engine bay, or near the exhaust manifold (One of my M43s leaked coolant from a crack in the manifold.) Watch for the leaks for around 20 minutes, if the leak is somewhere near the manifold, it wont be leaking immediately from the hot engine. If no leaks visible, after 30-40 minutes check the coolant amount.
      Then if there is a coolant loss, its a leak or its burning coolant. If the coolant hasnt been lost, the white milky color on your oil cap is just condensation from not driving the car up to temp enough, so only been used in corner driving/short drives which dont allow the engine to get up to temp and causes condensation in the oil space. Nothing too dangerous, but i would take a habit of driving the car for around 45-60 minutes atleast once a week to not get condensation in the oilspace.
