Trip Shakespeare Reunion 2013!!

- The New Standards holiday show 2013 was full of surprises, none bigger than John Munson asking for a petite guest to join him on the stage of the State Theater alongside fellow Minneapolis staples Dan and Matt Wilson. After 20 years, Trip Shakespeare in their entirety reminded the Twin Cities what it means to be Shakespearienced.
Apologies for the blurry at the beginning of Snow Days. No idea why that happened. It'll go away...
Man, this has me smiling ear-to-ear. There were sooooooo many great Trip shows over my grad school years in the Twin Siddies (the Halloween show @ The Cabooze stands out, mostly because of the giant black bat wings and Elaine dressed as a fairy princess), but seeing the four of them play together only reminds me again what JOY this band brought into so many of our lives. The Applehead Man LIVES!!!
Just fabulous! Great band. The class of a decade for sure.
Thanks for the upload and thank you trip Shakespeare for the best days of my life ❤❤
Hi Elaine, we've missed you.
Ohhhhh myyyyy goddd! I didn't know this was a thing! Wow! What memories. In college I borrowed a fake ID, took a taxi cab, snuck into to a bar by myself just to see one of their last farewell shows. Ahhhh..... The 90s were so fun!
Anything you can do to help make this happen again, Steve would be greatly and deeply appreciated.
The band Fire Under Water, then the band Guru Stew, opened for Trip Shakespeare at Moorhead State University (now MSU-Moorhead) in the late 1980s. I drummed for both, and after each opening was honored to provide the "petite guest," as you have dubbed her, with ice water to ensure a crisp palate during her always amazing performances. All Hail Trip!
This is a Dream to me....i hope they plan to do more, so it could become one of my fondest Dreams...seeing TS in person again!
Wow, how did I miss this! I so would have loved to see this!
I'm not huge on the AtU version of "Snow Days" but this absolutely sold me on it.
Love how Elaine's floor tom still has snow from the first night on it flying up when she hits it.
Love. I always remember Susanna as a solo acoustic number. Did TS used to play this with the whole band? Thank you John for making this happen and Steve for posting. Sending all happiness to Matt and Elaine. I so hope our paths cross again someday.
With the glasses, haircuts and the suits, they look like a group of high school teachers, or maybe insurance agents.
Awesome!!! Thanks for posting!!!
No knock on Jake S., but having Elaine on the kit makes a huge difference to their sound... Great stuff here.
My band (Crazy8s) did a gig with these guys many moons ago. Always wondered what happened to Elaine. She had a very unique style of drumming. I still listen to Applehead Man.
Great moment, great concert. And don't worry -- the blurry part may be your best camera work of the evening. ;-)
ELAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINE!
I hope Jake is well too.
Sound quality is great Steve D.... in 2020
Wow
I get a boner with a Capital "O" every time I see Elaine Harris play the drums. Aesthetics aside, these guys were center stage for me in the very early 90s when I was living in Kalamazoo MI. Anybody out there that know Frank Allison and The Odd Sox?
Take that David Letterman.
Opening with Susannah...oh...
And then far did I roam.
