- Dan and Matt Wilson teamed up as a duo for the first time at the Pantages Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota , March 26th 2010. They played a number of tunes from current and past: Trip Shakespeare, Semisonic, Twilight Hours, solo careers, and a couple covers to boot.
Thw whole show was amazing! A nice (I assume) audio recording of the show will be available through Dan's website or the Twilight Hours website sometime in the next week or so.
Don't worry. People like you still know a great song when they hear it. A born and bred Minneapolis boy can confirm.
This is incredibly meaningful. Beyond the history of the bands, brothers, life... I love that it sounds like 80s REM and adds more.
Absolutely awesome song. Totally under appreciated!
So many great alt rock songs that i felt should have been big hits, but radio is narrow, and people don't always like what I consider to be great music
Nothing like this song and there never will be.
Opened for Trip Shakespeare in two different college bands at Moorhead State University (now MSU-Moorhead) MN in the late 1980s. Astonishingly intuitive musicians and performers all! And exceedingly gracious with their compliments after we opened. Good humans, each of them.
i attended school at NDSU in the late 80s
the best song ever written
Matt's still one of the great rock guitarists.
Saw them late one weeknight in DC long ago. What a great surprise that was
MN born and raised graduated from Hopkins highschool and saw them many times at first avenue and we used to drive threw Brainard MN to boy scout camp at many point scout reservation. Hey troop 290 from Glenn lake MN
You need Munson's gi-normous baritone to really bring this song into the space. GREAT job, guys. You are legends in my lifetime, and masters of my car cassette deck.
Wow they look different in ties, short hair, and specs. Still sound great!
Thanks so much for posting this!
Thank you for posting. I was a Trip Shakespeare fan back in the day and posting Gan and Matt on stage together again makes me happy.
Brothers Wilson keep rocking.
LOVE THESE GUYS, PERIOD!!!
can't wait to see the full show - praying they'll do the show together in SoCal !
He saw Minnesota !!!!!!!!
Thanks GUYS!!!
I love the song
Whoa, what happened to all the hair and the vintage clothes?!? I remember seeing these guys way, way back at the Atwood center and the (red) Carpet in St Cloud. Still excellent! I'm giving this one a thumbs up like, for sure.
pure genius and a bit of jelly
Unique song.
Great! Not a fan of the suit look on these guys (loved their yesteryear's clothing choices), but great to hear this song again nonetheless. All they need to do is ditch those suits, slap on some tees or retro flash duds and they'd pack the houses again.
I like how the song is silly but still tells a human story that feels real and has emotion. Maybe that's what Trip Shakespeare was all about.
I think that's an excellent way to describe a lot of their songs.
When are they coming to Madtown WI?
@kc7fys i bought applehead man on cassette because i couldn't find it on cd. rock on!
I'll never cut my hair
@Qisamartianman Color me Jealous!
They really need a drummer.
