"Royal have implemented a cost cutting measure - Sorry, I mean gone green..." LOL! So true. Yeah, they can't be changing around the entertainment schedule without making sure everyone knows. That is not great. All of these would have been really good to know before the cruise. I can see why it all led you to rant a bit. Thanks for sharing the experience with us!
Hi, we found on our last Royal cruise that sometimes you need to fully logout of the app and back in again for the schedule to update, so worth doing this once per day!

I’ve yet to try the huge Royal Caribbean Oasis Class ships but this was the perfect size. The North Star is one of the most exciting things I’ve done at sea, I think you’d love it.
The Windjammer had so much choice, probably the best cruise buffet.

The North Star does look like a great feature for the ship! Oh no way can’t believe they made such last minute changes without letting people know! We nearly turned into a pizza at the end of our Royal Caribbean cruise 😂 really interesting to see and hear your take and your experience! Thanks for sharing 💙
The North Star was awesome, highly recommend if you get on a Quantum Class ship.
Sorrentos was ridiculous, according to photos on my phone I ate there 3 times 😳

You make good points. We are seeing the lines blurred more and more with areas that were once exclusively adult.
And it’s really not on, I’m not sure why parents think that the rules don’t apply to them?
Take your kids somewhere else and let the rest of us enjoy ourselves!
The North Star looks like a pretty cool vantage point.
What a shame they dont seem to keep the app updated.
9pm does seem very early for main dining areas to be closing.

The north star is a neat addition to the ship, but I always thought it was free all the time! That’s annoying. I do miss getting copies of the cruise compass. Weird they were moving shows around!! We only had one show change and it was just flat out cancelled lol. We agree with you 100% on the late night dining options. Windjammer is huge! But they could at least keep it open longer or just a portion even. 9 pm was too early for us too. Luckily we love promenade cafe and sorrentos. We haven’t eaten at solarium bistro for dinner before, I think reservations are so unnecessary - especially when you don’t need them for breakfast. We were lucky there was lots of adult entertainment BUT I agree sooo many parents brought their kids. Parents definitely need to be more responsible and I’m shocked royal doesn’t enforce it. I felt on our last cruise they were SO hesitant to upset anyone - it was impossible to get near the pool yet no physical people were present and Royal just enforced nothing. Royal used to have less children but now have really ramped up the family cruises which I have no problem with, but it really felt on our last cruise like a zoo and that royal just took a huge step back and let everything go to chaos 😂 we decided our next cruise we were taking a break from royal. Which is sad! Fantastic video as always!! 😊💕
I get it, I really do! This was my first Royal Caribbean cruise and I was blown away when I boarded but things started to go downhill quickly.
That’s not to say I was too disappointed but the limited late night food options and wild kids definitely put me off.
So which cruise line would you like to try next? Probably Disney 🤔😉🤣

I'm not sure that North Star thingy would have been for me 🤣 The last time I was on Royal there wasn't an app, so only the cruise compass was the only way to get info. Sorry to hear that this such an expense it needed to be cut. I found it helpful and especially if they are going to change times last minutes for the shows, etc. Thanks for sharing!
You’d be fine in the North Star, it was surprisingly stable and didn’t rock much at all.
The Cruise Compass, much like park maps are much more useful and reliable.

Loved hearing your thoughts. We have sailed on Anthem twice now and absolutely love it. We don't like heights though so didn't venture on the North Star. Oh yes the app is blooming awful, so needless to say we get a Cruise Compass delivered every night! We ate in the buffet pretty much every night.

All good points Steve.. Agree, with, Kids/toddlers in adult only venue, ( same families tbh). Kept me from returning. Disappointed not to see,
we will rock you. Scheduled changes 😳. Solarium was prebook, dining. I only knew that, due to being in for lunch, . Cruise compass used to be on bed each evening. That dam covid changed that..

You can see a Royal Caribbean bean counter saying ‘look at how much money we’ll save’ by not delivering a cruise compass to each cabin.
The fact that their customers will have a worse experience didn’t seem to have crossed their minds!
Yes, it was definitely the people allowing their kids to run riot unfortunately.
I’m so disappointed that you along with many others missed We Will Rock You, it’s a great show but the app is too unreliable.
I’ve never had to book to eat in a buffet before, seems so odd?

Another excellent video very interesting but sorry to say everything you said really puts me off cruising.
These were just issues on Royal Caribbean, other cruise lines don’t have these issues! Even Disney gets what adult only means more than them 😂
@@ALifeintheParks Hopefully if you travel with them again you have no problems. Like you said in the video it did seem they are doing things on the cheap.
@@jasoncursley4686Definitely, cost cutting on here was very evident.
Having been on the Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas on a Med' Cruise.. The thing that I would add from my experience is their poor quality of service and attitude of the staff. Whether it be because tips are charged automatically and consequently the staff have no incentive to give good service or maybe try to crack a smile once in a while. Though, other cruise liners have the same tipping policy and they dont seem to have such staff attitude issues. Perhaps it was a rare occasion... All I'll say is that I won't bother with Royal Caribbean again.
@@garryrowland I’m currently on the Disney Dream and while it a little more expensive than Royal Caribbean, the quality of the service and the food it’s like night and day.
I just feel that Royal are resting on their laurels and unfortunately, it shows.
Thank you for sharing, these are good things to know, I think I’ll avoid Royal Caribbean. I cruise with my child but I make sure to never take him places that are only for adults. I also make sure he’s displaying good behavior when we’re in public spaces so we don’t disturb others. Parents that actually parent seem to be few and far between these days.
@@ceeceebb I don’t remember this being such an issue on other ships and I can’t explain why.
Parents like yourself are how it used to be before entitlement took over and that’s sad to see.
Don’t get me wrong, she’s a beautiful ship and I had a great time too.

Hey, some great advice here, I always thought the free Northstar experience was port days only.
How strange that the bistro you have to book! Although from memory it’s good food in there.
I am personally not a fan of late night buffets always seems left overs from the day to feed the drunks 🤣 (which could be me on a few occasions 🤣)
The North Star while at sea is so awesome, highly recommended 👍
The food on Royal was for the most part very good especially the Bistro.
Yes, I think the late night buffet is designed to soak up alcohol 😂😂
