      Tungsten powder tail or head weighted open pours. A company made them years ago and the were great. Kinda like the nail weights we use today

      Try adding water to the jello first. Then adding it to the to the plastic. Not a lot just tiny bit. Would that work?

    I think it is actually a nice looking lure. Have you ever tied alcohol ink? I am a resin crafter and that is one of the coloring options along with pigment paste, mica powder and glitter. Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, and JoAnn’s all have this plus other types of colorant for various crafts.

    They make a sugar free version of Jello with artificial sweetener you could try. Also I don't know if they still make it, but there were versions of gelatin that didn't have the sugar already added, (you added your own to prepare it), but had the flavor and color. See if these are still in the market and try again.

    Could you make it with just Jello? I’ve seen people fish with gummy candy before, and that’s the same basic thing as jello but with a different consistency. Would it be possible to make a purely jello lure that’s firm enough to put on a hook and still has action?

    • @WorldsWorstFishing
      @WorldsWorstFishing  2 роки тому

      Yes in theory you could probably make Jello inside the mold I guess

    Crazy Idea but you can adjust the height of the injector to stagger them. so get the c-block blend and then pearl bottom with the split or triple inject baby bass but swirl the top with a red and get purple effects. Maybe give a shot just for the hell of it.

    Sugar free Jello may be a better option! All of the gelatin and flavoring, none of the sugary fluff as sugar free version uses a much stronger sweetener in a lesser quantity

    I thought this was a video about making soft lures from JELLO, not just pigmenting them with it. Here in Maine we are weaning away from plastic-based lures to biodegradable ones because they stay in the environment when lost and are eaten by fish and birds. There has got to be SOME way to do it. More exploration is needed...

    • @WorldsWorstFishing
      @WorldsWorstFishing  2 роки тому +1

      Glycerin base compounds can work, but show very little promise as a usable alternative to plastisol for us home bait makers, not to mention they have very weak shelf lives.

      This is exactly what I'm looking into right now. I'm no Greta, but I just can get into polluting the waters with even more plastic nor killing fish and birds wastefully. Gotta be a better way. I've not tried yet, but Agar (Agar Agar) is much stronger than other gelling agents. Saw a recipe that I'm going to try from "TackleKing" on YT. I think his was equal parts Animal Gelatin, Glycerin and water. They seem pretty soft but durable. I'm planning to play with Agar to see how it works.
      And a word of caution: "Biodegradable" is a misleading term that people mistake as environment friendly. In many cases, it's actually worse. The problem is the product "degrades" into smaller plastic particles. So it's just speeding up the plastic actually becoming worse for animals. But companies know that people confuse "Biodegradable" and "Compostable". Compostable is what you actually want as this breaks down into usable material for plants, bugs and microbes.
