I think that’s what it’s about for me...the craft.'

I’d heard There She Goes (obviously) so many times and presumed they were just a one hit wonder… I think I heard someone describe the album as one of the best ever so gave it a listen… I reckon I listened to the whole thing 5 times in a row with my jaw wide open 😂

short and sweet, it's what I love about the album, hardly any songs over 3 minutes but all packed with greatness and leave you longing for more. it's one of only a hand full of albums I can listen to over and over! so sad there was never a second and although I love cast but for me they were never quite as good, there is an energy about that album that is hard to beat..
Yes, the songs got straight to the point... except for "Looking Glass". But I _love_ LG as an album closer, both thematically and musically. Can't imagine a better way to end an album that is as close to perfection as anything I've ever heard.
The greatest bands are often the seminal ones who break the ground for the others with their creative genius. This band were pure creative genius sadly cut short. I wish I had known then what I know now1
They made one cd/album that I am aware of. I bought it new years ago. I don't 'really' lend this cd out... it's been my experience that when loaned out... it doesn't come back!! It's THAT good!

Been revisiting the la's after a long time away and I can't tell you how much I love this album. Seeing it in a new light and it glows beautifully....Mavers is a genius and Power is understated magic. Class act.

I come from the time of the Beatles, and I immediately thought of them when I played this album back in the day. The quality and variety of the songs is up there with the great ones..

Very nice performance. Interesting how I can hear the influence of so many bands of the 60's British invasion, yet very much their own genuine sound. I can hear The Kinks, The Who, Herman's Hermits. Certainly Mavers' vocals, look, and mannerisms resemble a young Mick Jagger in an uncanny way. Really nice sound.
Anyone who thinks what Lee is playing here is simple think again, or rather try to do it yourself while singing! Super talented guy obviously devoted to his craft.

Saw them live in Nottingham the night Thatcher resigned - quite a night, but it was still only a 40-minute gig, even with an encore of There She Goes and one or two others!

what a joke they have some genius songs but the smiths joy division and a lot of other bands are better then them its hard to judge the la's they have 1 genius album compared to other bands
i love the smiths and joy division, too. However they didn't have the range of Maver's. He was practically a one man band. How good would the La's have been with a Johhny Marr on guitar? John Power has talent, but he didn't come into his own until he stared Cast.
