Stock up on rice, dried beans, flour & oil. Y'all have goat milk, eggs & water on the property. You should have wild onion, wild garlic & wild lettuce growing around the property if needed. Learn about foraging natural edible plants & roots too. There are a lot of old ways that people used throughout the years when times got hard, me included, I'm 63 & have had hard times years ago when this knowledge helped my family. Also cut a pile of wood & have extra gasoline for a chainsaw to cut the wood. Y'all can always cook over a fire if you're ever out of propane. Love you both❣
Exactly this!
Wipe with wet sponge when still wet, less sanding... it's in the directions on the bucket 😅we love y'all and watching your build, brings hope to our homestead 🎉
I put tiles in all my bathrooms you can clean easy use bleach to get rid of mole and clean grout! Open windows and let it dry out its wonderful! And we never had any problems with moisture!
Wow u two r so amazing the detail in ur cuts r amazing also ❤❤enjoy u two I’ll pray for this battle to end blocking the roads ,,be safe
Love how Roger assists. Then hangs out by "dad" at night.
Roger :. Its play time. Rod . Im working here !! That vas cute , gotta love animals
Can u get mesh drywall tape there ? As a person who hates drywalling I like it better bubble wise
Wow!!!! Buy a hibachi type BBQ. Or a BBQ you can use wood and charcoal in. You can do a lot of cooking over woodstoves and hibachi and save on your propane. Here is a tip I learned about using propane. Turn the propane tanks off between uses. It lasts much longer. Much love to you guys and all the dear sweet animals!😂❤
Ok Jungle boy and Hiking buddy. The bridge nearly made me puke . Can't stand heights . But the scenery was beautiful . And after I told my brain was not on the bridge I caught. My stomach settling
i think they have to cut down and chop up their own firewood there, so the preference is always to use the time and labor and available dead wood to mill the wood into boards and beams to use for construction as opposed to for creating firewood. the other factor is that it's a lot of time and effort there to dry out wood enough that it can be used for either construction or firewood, hence one of the first things Kaylee and Jordan built on the land was a "wood kiln".
they also have to use some kind of fuel to make firewood, so if they don't have an electric chainsaw (i don't think they do), they likely need to save that fuel for their vehicle(s). it was really hard for them to get gasoline last time, and they may need to drive the back roads and go much further than down to the local town for some of their food, at least until the road opens up again.
please correct me if i'm wrong !
When you use paper tape on seams the trick is to put mud on wall- put on paper tape- smooth out- let it dry before adding any more coats of mud, this will eliminate the air bubbles
I'm not a builder obviously but, it's their home and won't be sold so why put all the mud for the nail holes? Why not just put the two coats of paint and save a ton of work???
@@ednaselmbecause the seam won’t be sealed and it would also be noticeable. The trick is, do it proper the first time (even if it’s time consuming) so you won’t have to redo it again (which would be more time than if you just did it right the first time)
Also put the paper tape in water for a quick dunk put the tape on wet . No more bubbles
@@ednaselmbecause doing it right the 1st time will save you time later in repairs at the seams.
@@JudithBisson Thank you....
Enjoyed the hike eith you, I kinda felt like I was there. Very beautiful.
Drywall looks great when it is done, my least favorite job ever!
Plan a reward for yourselves, a nice treat to look forward to when the dry wall is finished.
You two love ❤ bugs ❤ are so cute ❤
Don’t forget to really stock up on HAY!! Remember you ran out last time. Also you ran out of Moo Moo food and, I think, chicken feed. Maybe dog food too. And, of course, really hit up the groceries. Maybe get a small chest freezer to keep in the shed & really stock up. I will worry about you two!! And Roger needs cat food! So much love from Oregon State, USA ♥️ Jessica
You should stock up on groceries. Dry goods, meat etc. Please get animal food as well. You know it's coming so please get prepared. Rodrigo and Freddie....I am proud of you all for getting 8 containers of propane and gas.
Wonder if they’re as aware there as we are here in the states and other countries as to what’s gradually happening to us common folk?! Hope so with all my heart ❤️❤️❤️
@@famlauriek7353I pray they are dear. Sweet kids.
Roger is so funny.great work guys . Looking really nice . Great job .
Rodrigo, your face in the car is priceless!!!
You guys make a great team! Your videos are always a joy to watch! Cheers from Alberta, Canada!
Have you tried wet sanding? NO DUST! Just use a damp sponge... I've personally done it for my house and it is by far the easiest. Once the mud is dry just rub with a wet sponge and its soooo much easier! Glad you all are staying prepared. Also, I can't wait to see the wall painted and decorated. Great job!
Freddie this is new to all of us...crazy. Pre pare for three months, I am in Texas and keep food for three months. I love yall and that is the minimum for food and cooking oil and propane. I am NOt a real prepper but PREP. Freddie you are so smart and I love watching you and Rodrigo.
Don’t forget about animal food when you shop for you!!
and lots of extra hay !
You need gas containers and perhaps wood for walls supplies, nails, stain. What ever you needed at hardware store. Do you need corn and food for animals? Do you need hay to stock up? Think about the things you ran short the last time. Each trip into town cost gasoline. You could use a small freezer up the road. It would come in handy for stocking up. Yeah this seems to happen a lot. Don’t for get the food and wash supplies. 😊
Good advice! Times are hard in the Usa for the working middle class, elderly and poor right now. If I hadn't put food back 6 months ago. My family would be in trouble now. During the good times you have to put back for the hard times.
Seems to happen a lot. This time it might be the drowning Guna people. And YEAH survival happens a lot on both sides of the issue. Doesn't it? Last time the indigenous people won the right to EXCLUDE a Canadian copper mine. My area also has to fight for clean water and soil. Yeah seems to happen a lot. ❤ Good thing! During the fight against the copper mine and the road block, I told Rod, Kaylee and Jordan that they didn't have enough crops. Still think so. ❤
I have neighbors in Florida . Is this a protest?
Hello My Jungle Friends, please don't become part of the wall Rodrigo😢🤣.
When the USA ran out of toilet paper and food, we started to buy extra. Not clean them out, but a little extra time and again. Then you don't get hit so hard when things go bad!
What a beautiful adventure🎉.
I've never dry walled, but what I've seen from those that don't know how it looks dreadful 😳.
I used to do after construction cleaning. The dust was in every crack and crevices. It was our job to find it and remove it🤨🥴!
Take it easy when you can😘.
[JO JO IN VT 🇺🇲💞
Also, look into a wet/dry vacuum, will save you from all that work dust
You can sand drywall using a damp sponge instead of sandpaper and get zero dust.
My girlfriend's brother left big globs of mud drying on all the walls of the finished basement and I had to wet sand them off. Works great.
What a nice surprise on a Thursday evening to see a video from you two! Please continue to get prepared just in case. Hugs to you both and to the Lolas Farm critters! ❤️ 💙 💜
Yes! Their videos are always happy surprises! I love them.
Ypu are actually very good at drywall, your measurring & cutting is impressive
Ohhhh myyy goshhhh 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂I laughed out loud so hard at Roger attacking your man bun Rod!!!
I love that you POINTED out the view! Rodrigo being himself!!!
😂😂😂
Great teamwork. You both complete the other. Continue to have humor in your lives and ignore the small problems that arise.
Yes! I agree 💯
To be prepared, I would suggest that you get in the habit of "extra" buying: When you go to the store and buy 1 can of food you use, buy 2 or buy when they're on sale - keep a rotating stock on hand at all times, so that when there's a crisis, you're already half-way prepared! Regular stock items can be bought when they're on sale to save money. Make sure you've got enough animal food on hand for those emergencies, too! Perhaps you could make a covered outdoor cooking area, where you can cook without propane - with wood from the forest, for example. Like the outdoor pizza oven at the other house...
Freddy is an absolutely sweetheart. So happy you found each other.
The two of you are such a great team.👏🏼so glad you have all the supplies you need. The hike looked beautiful and all the animals look so content and happy. Lovely video thank you. ❤️
What an adventure, you guys!! It's always good to break up your time from homestead duties. You're such good team workers. Quit funny at times, too . Can't wait for the next video. Byee...
Good work guys and nice hike...Roger said,' I need a girl kitten for a friend....maybe? Glad you are prepared for the road closing.
LOL you don’t have to climb another mountain to find wild cats, Roger is right there. Wild and lovable.
It will be interesting to see what your home looks like when it's completed , looking forward to it . 😊
Thank God 😊 🙏 Rodrigo went and stock up on propane and groceries to be on the safe side 🙏. Lola and Roger are just too adorable 😍 😊 ❤️ ☺️
The blue walls look great! It probably is a good idea to have extra supplies on hand...whether or not a general strike is called...there could be a natural event (weather) that could keep you from being able to go to town, so having extra propane, gas, non perishable food stuff on the farm would be helpful💚💚💚💚 See you next time👏👏🌈🌈
Roger's so helpful!!!!
Sorry to hear about the unrest there in Panama.
Hope your able to get everything you need and that the protest does last long
You two had me laughing so hard with your antics.
Especially when Freddie was pushing on Rodrigo's back while he was trying to put a screw in the drywall. And later when he was dancing.
😂🤣😂
The one thing about imperfections is that they will always be there to remind you that you made a mistake 😊
Wishing you the best of success with the drywall.
You keep this up and you will get finished one day😊
I have loved the design for your house since the very beginning. You guys are doing an amazing job! Yes, doing drywall sucks, try not to go so fast that you make mistakes like the piece you cut backward. My husband and I have been renovating our home for years. One room at a time. Anytime we go to fast, doing a job we hate, we make mistakes. Hopefully your roads won’t be closed for too long.
You only need the thinnest layer of mud behind the tape just enough so it'll stick then let it dry completely before covering it with anything else
Your videos have improved immensely, fun to watch. No one likes to drywall.
Make yourself an outdoor barbecue and cook with wood if needed
Prepping here in Tennessee USA as well, you’re not the only ones my friends. Hard times are here and we should be concerned! You all on Lola’s Farm and so very blessed, wishing we were there with you all ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👏👏👏👏👏
Yes to prepping!! - IM TENNESSEE TOO! 😊❤😊
Are y’all prepping bc of a weather issue or a way of life? Stay safe.
Same in prepping in North AL.
Such a nice surprise before I go to bed. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sorry to hear about the trouble in your town. You doing the right thing. "Stock up".
As for your animal's, always glad to see the Happiness coming out of them. Just by their body language. Happy Tails.
Also learning some D.I.Y tips.
Regards from South Africa 🇿🇦.
You guys knocked out those walls in no time, good job! Is the road closing due to another protest? So glad that you have the propane and filled up your gas tank. Nice side trip to the hanging bridges, so beautiful! You guys are so cute together!
Soy de Puerto Rico, y no me pierdo sus videos, i am proud of you people
Glad you are both safe and prepared love from Michigan ❤️🖐️
You two are so cute together. Rodrigo, it was so cute when Roger was playing with you on the staircase😊😊😊😊❤️❤️‼️ And Freddie you are a true worker love to watch you get things done‼️🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕
Oh my word, your cat 😍 he wanted attention or was curious about your hair 😂
I absolutely adore how silly you guys are. ❤
Hey Rodrigo and Freddie so sorry that this is happening again that's crazy pray that it ends soon
Yes please prepare. The pandemic changed how I think about these things. They didn't have senior medical supplies I needed for my mother. I will never have her worry like that again. Think about rice and beans and canned goods. Wishing you the best.
I stocked up on rice and dry beans and put in new 5 gallon buckets. Also sugar and flour. Plant some veggies!
Oh my goodness! But I’m certain you and Freddie have “Got This” … im keeping you in my prayers all of you on the farm. ❤🙏🏻❤
I think if you switched the living room area with your current dining room you’d have a better flow in the house with maybe more room for like a coffee table or something. Maybe remove that wall put up in the dining room so it could be more open. Idk it’s hard to know what exactly to do. What are the plans for the space behind the dining room wall?
You’re making me so happy u 2 and some future generations will be able to see uto
Finger stuck under the staircase 😂😂😂
Freddie: You're going to get your own address.
Thank you for the beautiful tour of your part of Panama. Roger sure seems to have perfected his work-life balance.
your hikes are great ,a good balance ,from work time,go freddie and Rodrigo ,,and all the Doggers, and Goats, and MooMooz etc,,,,exploring :):)
Try "wet" sanding with a stiff damp sponge. It will cut down on dust a lot.
Hi Rod, Freddie. This Grandma Loves you Both you are so,so,so good for each other.Sorry for what guys are going through in Panama. On Lola's farm you Both take Care of all the animals so,so,so good.I Pray all you guys are going through will Pass Soon.Love Grandma Raquel. From Bakersfield, California.Keep up the good work.🙏😇🙏.And I Love 💕 all the animals to.❤.
Lol…Attack of Roger the cat!!!
👠🚌👠
You should have put the water proof part INWARD toward the bathroom... might as well used wood... IF the moisture gets through the first drywall it could potentially get trapped between the walls....
I like the different shots of the animals. They were lovely.
Your walls look amazing. The house is really coming together so nice. Well done both. ❤❤
You guys are doing it! Rod, I am always amazed, since you started building with Jordan, at your skill. Your cuts and angles are point-on. Nice job! Don't let this drywall get you down. Tackle 1 day at a time. With the mud, use just enough to cover the tape, seams, and screw heads. Make it smooth each time, so less or no sanding. Keep up the great work. Love you guys
Just as I was about to write I hope all is well with the roadblocks you came on and said all is well. Thanks for sharing I worry about you all, down there. When stuff like that happens. Again thanks for sharing. Love yah Nancy
Wuth drywall and plaster you have to get to a point where you "Don't Think". The less thinking the better.
That's why I thought your storage closet would be good as a food pantry 😊 You never know when it will be over 😮
Your right! Thants a great spot for a Pantry! Of course it’s their house, I’m just suggesting 😊.
@@OssoLily-ix5vz 😁
Or if?!?!🤷🏻♀️
@@famlauriek7353 Or if ????
Did you know you can wet sand drywall mud? That is what the manufacturer recommends. Usually only people that need to do a lot of sanding are diy-er. Because they (we) apply too much mud to wet sand.
You do not have to put mud behind the tape. If vavailable to you, buy fiberglass tape that's already full of holes and self stick, the mud over it, zero air bubbles.
You are so cute together. Glad you are able to prepare more for any upcoming strikes, I was worried about you last time. When I was drywalling, I was taught the trick to pour water on top of the mixed drywall paste in the bucket and store it that way. It keeps it sealed and fresh, then you can pour off the water, mix and continue.
Wow...very good idea!
The appearance or feeling of space might be improved now that the bathroom area has been more defined if you remove the "dining room" wall and bring the table out the long way. It will feel much more spacious rather than being capartmentalized.
THAT'S GOING TO LOOK GREAT! Paint the drywall the same color as the refrigerator. It will look good with the black of the stairs.
Nothing beats a good puppy roll in the grass. I am sorry this keeps happening. The road closures, that is. Glad you were able to get supplies.
Farm animals are beautiful and well kept.
Yea! Roger time on a Thusday evening. You made me happy.
Your high spirits have drug me in since the beginning.
Frankie is a bonus
Looks great ❤
Drywall is messy but not hard and it covers a lot of surface in a hurry. Less mud works better. Scrape off all you won't need so you don't have to sand it later. Done right, a wet sponge can be used to level off those spots covering the screws.
My hubby drywalled/taped, mudded and sanded our bathroom one day while was at work. Dude and his friend didn't cover the doorway before. I came home from work that night to find drywall dust ALL OVER my house. Had to wipe down EVERYTHING in the house, just to be able to put my 4 children to bed. Good times, have to have a sense of humor! Lol!
Maybe consider switching the bathroom door to open from the other side and swing IN to the wall by the toilet if there is enough room. It would be a much better flow.
Drywall expires. After excoriation it causes bubbles to form. Throw it out and buy new stuff that’s not out of expiration.
@@BobBohner4851what??? Drywall does NOT expire. It last 50-70 years if not in adverse conditions. My house is 25 years old. All drywall in it is as good as new.
@@vivalaketo5617 drywall mud expires
Hope you bought enough food for all the animals before the " shut down" again in your area.
You guys make me laugh..Roger is a crack up🤣🐈⬛
The more walls the better it looks. Have a great week guys ❤️🇬🇧
😊TY for the VIDEO ❤ PEACE
"You're gonna get your own address" HAHAHA OMG! Yes! Love the videos! Thanks for sharing! Love from Idaho, USA.
I am loving your place so so much!!! You are doing a great job. I am so happy for you that you have each other. It was meant to be. And thanks for sharing your much deserved getaway. It was so beautiful. You live in such a beautiful world!!!
I like your posts.. keep up your content, funny I woke up saying good morning of the morning. good to my team.. positive vibes..
You should both follw peter zeihan. Has ukranian war affected freddie's relative and friends?
You two are the best love what you are doing with the house and your videos are uplifting even when there are challenges ahead you attitude is infectious thanks for the smiles stay safe hope things with road closes doesn’t last long at least you have shelter gas food etc. goodluck 💙💙🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺💙💙🥰🥰
Stunning scenery on you hike and Rodger is hilarious! You are moving along nicely and happy that you are prepared for shortages🌻
Thank God for freddie and her perfectionism, I so appreciate it. This channel needed her. You balance each other out so well. x
use VERY little mud at each layer and you won't need to sand anything: take a moistened sponge and smooth out the joints and screw holes, let dry, add the next layer. What also helps if you use a texture, and then the taping has lots off space ffor small errors.
Hope all continues to be quiet there. Stay safe
I just love you guys too your so cute together ❤️ love mam seu
I hope the Guna people don't drown and they find a decent beautiful place to live in the jungle before the island sinks into the ocean❤😢
You might not like doing dry wall but it’s faster, and much less work. What a difference it’s made to the look of the whole room having that side all covered. Are you going to paint it white ?..I noticed you have not sealed the sides of your patio door.that needs doing because it will stop the wind coming in but most of all it will stop and water from rain coming in and seeping into the drywall and causing mould..If you get black mould it’s bad for your health, especially your breathing (lungs can get infections ) ..But it’s looking amazing Kids and it must be making you feel much happier too knowing it’s starting to look so nice…Could not watch the high up bits..But I know the scenery is gorgeous all around.Dont forget to stock up on food before the roads close ..Love to you both 🥰
❤❤ you two.. prayers for you & Freddie that all will be good.. ❤❤❤❤ the jungle 😊😊 beautiful 😍
Rod….always take the tape to the edge…the first piece of tape didn’t go to the edge…so when you applied the gooooooo…there was nowhere for the trapped air to escape.
