How to walk from Buxton to Goyt Valley | Peak District, UK

- What is the best circular hike you can do from Buxton? There are certainly plenty of great options that you can do but I believe that this loop to the Goyt Valley and back is up there with the best of them.
I set out for an early evening hike to do the 8.5 mile loop (9 miles if you start from Buxton Town centre). The walk offers fantastic varies scenery including open moorland, tranquil reservoirs, ancient woodland and historic roads. If you want to do the route yourself, I have left a route map down below. Great informative video.Weather permitting will make my way from home in North Wales to walk this as never visited this area before.Some of the scenery reminds me of Holmfirth area my old stomping ground!

Thanks for taking the time to watch my videos. I do feel very lucky to live here in the Peak. It was only at the start of the year that we were able to move here from London, so I am always grateful to have places like this on our doorstep, not just a built up and overcroweded city.
Had my first walk in ten years odd the other day. My son is responsible for encouraging me to tread the boards again. He suggested The Goyt Valley. Never been there before but was really impressed. Great video and has inspired me to go back and try this route. Hopefully I wont be huffing and puffing quite so much next time. Good job.

I wouldn't worry about to much huffing and puffing, I certainly had a bit of that going on up the first steep bit of the walk 😊

Afternoon. No, this walk is clear of cows. For the section over 'wild moor' (the earlier bit from Buxton to Errwood reseviour) there are sheep on the moor but no cows.
