Rebel Revival: Capturing the Rockabilly Scene in 1980s France

In 1982 Normandy, France, photographer Gil Rigoulet captured the intimate and rebellious world of Rockabilly youths, documenting their style and culture in a series of fly-on-the-wall photographs. Rigoulet spent three months trailing the group, capturing moments of them getting their hair styled, browsing records, and living their authentic, raucous lifestyle. His work was compiled into the book Rockabilly 82, preserving a snapshot of a subculture seeking an authentic rebellious edge.
