………there’s a photo of Charlton Heston looking through a cinematic camera lens’, not from film, ‘Ben-Hur’ but from his film, ‘Antony & Cleopatra’, made in 1972, thirteen years’ after ‘Ben-Hur’ was made………………
Someone should do a full video of his work. He was one of a kind. See the second edition of The Bible Looking Glass.
I spent 6 months in Newcastle in the mid 90's … Luckily I'd watched Michael Caine in 'Get Carter' … so it was less of a shock! What a completely unpleasant place.
They forget to mention this guy Meredith did have a gun even the news didn't mention that, it was not about race nor was it the stones fault, If Meredith wasn't there looking to start trouble why did he bring a gun to a concert.
How aesthetic..🖖🫣🥰
Mind calm down
More than psychological services
Divine transcendental opulence 😊

Divine than any religious organization

The dates signifying when these photos are taken are obviously incorrect. All photography on Giant was completed before the end of 1955. So when you are showing photos of Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and especially Dean on the set and putting the graphic “1956“ on it… it’s obviously wrong. Dean died in September of ‘55. It’s not hard to get this right.
Still a shit hole
Beautiful history. Shit AI narration
Ooh la la
We had Chinese Maxican black and white . On 60s 2
MORAL OF THIS STORY...ITS A HUGE MISTAKE TO MESS WITH THE HELLS ANGELS 😇
Great town then . Brings back some nice memories .
the past never stops surprising me
These magazines were awesome 💙
Bloody hell....! I'm old...😂
That's how I felt!
Gateshead was better
Yea I do and it was shite
I never boyght anything from these ads. They always seemed dishonest to me, especially the sea monkeys.Ibojce got a letter by mail to sell Grit, but decided against it when they wanted take 13¢ of every 20¢ copy I sold.
très bonne période ! Je suis sur une des photos !
I used to catch that 556 from the northway sedgley to Wolverhampton.
Wow, "Posada" at 0"12 , my home from 1957-1972!!😄
And still there. A favourite with Wolves fans before a match.
To see how Wolverhampton has descended in the last 40years into a sorry mess of its former self (as have hundreds of other towns and cities throughout the UK) it’s scary to wonder what life will be like in another 40years from now! It’s highly doubtful I’ll still be around to witness the decay by then - good luck to the future generations that will!
People dressed so much more stylishly then. I guess back then they had decent shops. Most have now gone.
Great upload many thanks I enjoyed this very much, a hark back to better days all the best to you from Norman in Scotland 🏴 used to live next to east park Wolverhampton
Wished there were pictures of the rollerdrome, had some great times there , hard to remember how white it was then too.
I was at the Rollerdrome when news of Kennedy,s death came through.
Oh yeah the rollerdrome. A mate took me there when I was 15. I did little else but fall on my arse!
The book is compelling reading and we see a modern day version in the actions of the rich American cities in demolishing the camps of the homeless as of this week. Just as cruel as London (the city) in 1902, which is actually not that long ago. In those days sleeping rough was cold, hungry and wet and we are seeing the same play out in Gaza as well. Humans find it difficult to share when all they have experienced is being well off or even incredibly rich!
Well ... that was a weird video! It came and went in a flash, without even a concluding thought. However, the UA-cam presenter had to get his word "iconic" into his narrative (@ 0:53) before it ended! What is wrong with all of you folks who put together these narratives but seemingly are just too damn lazy to go into a thesaurus and find more original, fresher descriptors to replace this very, very, very, very tired cliche?! Using such cliches creates "cheap' and lazy writing! And this also includes another lazy, cliched statement, "...took the world by storm" (@ 0:19).
Sounds like Paris 😂😂😂😂 oh the things one can learn about it
WOW!!!! All those untouched mansions she had and how beautiful they looked many years later. It amazes me how she chose to live in the hospital instead. I read Empty Mansion and love how it tells about her. She kept to herself. I love learning/reading more about her. 🌷🌷May she RIP🌷🌷
Our hero Udaam singh 😊❤❤
They relocated the market to build the civic centre, the replacement had hand washing facilities, and brick stalls plus an indoor market, all now demolished and relocated again. It's not even worth visiting. It's a shadow of the former glory it once was. It's assumed everyone has a car. There's only Iceland and Mark's and Spencers left to do a food shop. I don't agree with Tesco express and their extortionate prices. All the other supermarkets are outside the ring road. It's a dump.
Amy is the main character if the series. She is a social outcast due to her tendency of being a problem child do to her lack of care for rules of society, being a trouble maker, and generally being a shy individual. But despite this she is well meaning and a cheerful little girl. Her skills are being able to run very fast and to have great aim. Yorick is the main antagonist of the series. He's a vain, self-centered, materialistic, manipulative, cruel, and shallow individual with the same lack of care for the rules around him, but has a deep hatred for people. He's also a 14 year old serial killer who's always one step ahead. Yorick's main goon in command is George. Who's a mysterious and enigma like thief coming from a poor background and an avid hoarder lurking in the shadows or anywhere within the area that's great for hiding. Especially under rugs. Especially when you least suspect him. Rhoda is also another villain. She may act sweet and innocent but she's really not! She's a two faced, manipulative, hot-headed, back stabber who loves to play all sorts of rotten tricks. Olive is an aggressive bully who likes to pic on others who are smaller than her. Basil may look timid but her really isn't. He's arrogant and smug but only acts that way to look cool and tough but deep down he is really a coward.
THEY NEED TO TURN THIS INTO A SHOW!!!!!!!!!
From eighties never thought she would be so big.
👍👍
The beginning of the camera’s love affair with the then future pop music and cultural icon. Natural beauty, innate fashion style, flair and charisma. She stands out like a gem amidst the blighted scenery of that neighborhood in 1983. Appreciate these pre-fame photos.
Now it's all foreigners
Bet you hated all the pictures of the anti-racism protestors in this video then
It wasn't the best of places back then...now in 2024 its bad...I mean BAD!!
How bad mate? I was born there in 1979..lived just outside but left in 87. I have great memories but will confess I ain't been to the centre since a kid. I can only imagine its changed so much, culturally I assume
Everything's changed and not for the better. @welshie1979
its become Punjab 😂
I moved to Wolverhampton in 2019 to work at the hospital. I’ve been here ever since then after living in five other major cities in the United Kingdom this one is without doubt the worst for crime & violence.
My old man ran the road back then in Eastern Canada, he always brought back a copy of Overdrive. It became a "thing" that was expected and in the off chance he couldn't get one, he made sure to make the trip to get one. I can remember having my room wall papered with all the pics of the trucks (and a few models). What a difference between then and now...I miss then more.
The presence of a petite women in every photo? Do you know what petite means?
I grew up in Newcastle in the 70s and 80s, and it is my city of birth. I have seen it changing and not for the better, In the 1970,s , it was a wonderful place, and we had a strong community , but years of tory corupt governments and now the invasion of illegal immigrants with there evil ideologys that have no respect has destroyed the safety and security of the city, it is a true tragedy to see my home city and my country over run with this illegal imagrant vermin and turned in to nothing more that a shit hole ,are politicians are traitors and have a lot to answer for it is truly unforgivable? I am glad I am old now. It is the younger generation i feel so sorry for now , and they will never know the joy and community spirit of the past. 🇬🇧🏴
It's not just illegal immigrants but legal ones too. We are being invaded!
@@seansmith445 legal immigrants like farages German wife , she's not English and legally lives here , and Ben Habib funny how none of these anti immigrants mentions them
You mentally ill or just a Russian troll? Newcastle was an utter hole back then in the 70s. Sleazy, rampant poverty. Violence. Unemployment. I'd like to be young again myself, but no way would I want to go back to then. You got old mate. Get over it. Stop trying to blame other people.
"the invasion of illegal immigrants with there evil ideologys that have no respect has destroyed the safety and security of the city". the tories didn't start this as you have quoted, that is all the handy work of the LABOUR party and its war criminal leader tony the ba$tard blair.
W2 is not Notting Hill.
I have Killbear up on the wall in my living room, right next to a painting of John Wayne 👍
DUMP.
Who wrote this gibberish; “today we have a greater emphasis on body positivity and inclusivity”. No wonder only 19 views.
We had it made. The best decade there ever was or will be.
I remember reading all of those magazines. Thanks!
Lovely stuff!
Great video, thank you for this
