- We have loved seeing so many of you at our shows this year and wanted to share our 2020 Christmas Show with all our friends around the world! It includes a mix of our regular and Christmas songs and was filmed last year at our home theater, the Little Opry in Branson, Missouri, before being originally broadcast as a ticketed event.

"Stop the Tape!" [as they use to say. . . ] I pause this exceptional concert to congratulate the arranger of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen!" And to give kudos to the young lady with the MOST distinctively beautiful voice for her style of vocal skill on this number. Wow!
As said before, Emmett has a beautiful voice
God gifts us so many things of beauty: a sunset, a flower, a hummingbird, a rain shower…no less He has gifted us with this group. Enjoy and give thanks.
I've watched this at least 10 times now and it never gets old! Great talent that needs to be recognized! They play with such joy that it truly shows they all enjoy what they are doing, especially the way they look at each other with such adoration. I don't know anything about playing the dobro but I would venture that Emmet is world class in my book.

@@martahampton1175 Any one of them on any single day has more musical talent in their pinky finger than I have had collectively in my whole life, and that's 70 years! Plus, their love for Jesus makes them even more near and dear to me.

Love Julianne's singing style and her rendition of Southern Nights and Mom is to be commended for raising a beautiful family!

@@danblumel I was struggling to remember who's voice Emmet reminded me of - I agree, his voice is very similar to Rickey's for certain. Classic Blue Grass.
Nobody better , The best Family band out there
After seeing this show a few times…. I can say that it is simply fantastic! Everything from start to finish! However, I wanted to point out a particular moment that has impressed me every time I saw and listened to it. And it is when Emmet has just finished singing "I Heard the Bells" (beautiful and poignant song!) and, immediately after the well-deserved applause of the audience, in the perfect silence of the hall, the instruments are silent and Julianne begins to sing, in perfect chord of B minor, "O Come, O Come Emmanuel". Then the harmonies of Katie and Ellen enter and, after that, all the instruments to complete this masterpiece of rare beauty. These are minutes of pure magic, the authentic magic of Christmas. 🎄

So well said! I watch them almost every day and am continually blessed and encouraged by their sweetness and love for one another and for the Lord. So talented and continually getting better, as well!
Every time... literally every time Julianne kicks in with "O come o come Emmanuel" I get the chills.
I've came back to her singing it a half dozen times just watching this show.

I love Julianne's singing. All those little breaks in her voice really make me smile. As she continues to mature and improve she is going to be the best vocalist in the band, and that is saying something. Also love a lot of their arrangements, I especailly liked that bluesy arrangemet of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. This band is a must see for me if I ever make it to Branson.

Is there no end to this group’s talent? They hit the Andrew’s Sisters performance with Bing Crosby on Mele Kalikimaka. Out of the park! This show is just outstanding. I hesitate to say my favorite because I will be saying that about another.

My wife and I had the privilege of seeing this show live last year in Branson (our first Petersens show!), and we enjoyed it immensely. We might not be able to make it this year, but it is a blessing to be able to see it again from the comfort of our home. So much joy and beautiful music. Thank you for sharing!
What a moving performance. I had tears most of the time. Remember remembering my sisters bluegrass band back in the 70’s. They played In Nashville many times. (The Bluegrass Express Band) The Hastings Family. God has blessed your family in many ways. “Thanks” to a loving Father and Mother. They started it all. Can see Jesus in your “LIVES” GOD BLESS……. ❤

I have gone back and watched them a couple of times since you have put them on UA-cam.
I have watched your concert from 2014 from Oklahoma a few times as well.
I have enjoyed them and loved them each time.

OK, the concert is really great -- but I want to call some attention and give some praise to the crew taking care of the details. Audio is impressive for a live recording, and the lighting and video work is really spectacular! (Sounds like Randy Franz is at least part of that team!) Lighting is well done throughout, and the camera got great angles and _really_ crisp, clear shots even with the close-ups. It honestly looks almost 4K, which is especially surprising after going through youtube's compression. *VERY* nicely done!
Petersen family, you of course look and sound wonderful! I really need to make the trip to see your concerts firsthand, hopefully including a Christmas concert. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent and skill with the world!

What a smashing family of musicians you are! 😉 I discovered you early last year during the lockdown and have been a big fan ever since.
You’re often playing in the background whilst I am fitting out my 57-foot narrowboat shell, here nera Nottingham (Robin Hood City) in the East Midlands, England. Some of the tasks can be mundane, but you certainly help to pass the time and give me that push as I attempt to complete the more arduous jobs, onboard!
Carolina in the Pines is my absolute favorite by the Petersen’s . What a fantastic show . Thank you for making this available for your many fans unable to see you in person . Shout out to The Petersens !!

From a Kansas-born Kamaaina living in Hawaii for the past 35 years, and raised on all kinds of Western music, including Bluegrass, Matt did a better job on Mele Kalikimaka than I have heard some Hawaiian singers do, and they wrote the song! Truth be told, each member of The Petersens brings 110% to the musical table of excellence. Your vocal harmonies are spot-on for every song I've heard you do. Your layering and overall balance is second to none. Your stage presence and facials are so appropriate. Emmett's palm-tree slide-up in the song ending sounded better than I've heard some Hawaiian bands do. Our musical "experience" is simply awesome whenever you are on stage!
I play bass, guitar and trombone but have been inspired by The Petersens to learn violin and mandolin. Katie is an awesome fiddler! Juliann's falsetto is so killer that I'm almost certain it's because of those dimples! Her shyness is the best part of her solos...she's having more fun than we know! (as are ALL of you!)
If I have failed to mention any of the members, let me just say that ALL of your vocals are top-notch and unique in so many good ways! I intentionally left out two ladies' names just for variety, but they are such important additions to the band. One of them even has a BEAUTIFUL voice, but then again, all of your voices are super pleasant to listen to. I kinda wish I could hear the upright a little better cuz I know it's top-notch playing.
Your instruments are each so well played and perfectly blended. Most importantly, you all have huge hearts full of love. I pray that your family always remains close.
God bless each of you richly, and one day I hope to be able to worship our Savior, Jesus Christ, together! Keep looking up, and thank you for all the smiles and joy you have brought through your musical talents that God has given you! I could say ten times as much for each song you play, but there are only so many hours in a day!

Having seen the Petersens in concert in November and seeing their Christmas concert for this past season, I would have to say that they are every bit as good, and engaging, and fun to watch in person! Even in a venue, where it didn't seem like they could pull off this kind of sound, they did it! Magic!!

The train runs from Shelby, Ky to Kingsport, Tn making 14 stops on its 110 mile route., including 3 in Kentucky, 10 in Virginia and 1 in Tennessee. The train distributes more than 15 tons of gifts, 900 plush toys, 5,600 backpacks, 100 rolls of wrapping paper and 2000 other types of toys.

Christmas is a difficult time for me for many reasons. You guys are a bright light in the darkest of days. Thank you!
This is the BEST harmonizing that I’ve ever heard! These amazing kids/band are right up there with the best of the best! They’re not elbow to elbow, with, for example, the Nitty Gritty Band, not because they don’t have the talent or ability to be up there with the rich and famous, but because they’ve chosen a different path in life and music, a path of humbleness, love of what’s important in life, true human and spiritual values, and for the glorifying of God. I think that’s why I’m so incredibly drawn to them; for their talent, their love for family, their wittiness, intelligence, educational achievements, for the ability to get along so well with each other, which I know by experience it’s extremely difficult being true friends with your siblings! Moments brought tears of joy and sadness to my eyes. Thank you immensely for being out there “curing” people’s souls and lives!

I've never been too big on Blue Grass Music... BUT THEN I DISCOVERED THE PETERSENS ! O M G what a family, such great musicians, such great singers !!! Although it’s the middle of July, I watched the 2020 Christmas show during the holidays and enjoyed it so much I thought I might watch it again. It’s even better than i remember . Just proves that good quality entertainment can be enjoyed at anytime. The Petersen’s are very good at what they do . The hour and half of my time was well worth it, thanks again for your dedication to bring joy and happiness to us!! ❤️
